The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

I do like the look of the clean ovens on the mighty's that only use capsules, but i have never had an issue with taste using capsules and direct load. And I rarely ever clean the bowl. Im wondering how many mighty users actually pop out the screen above the heater (not the cooling unit) and clean below. I would do it more often if ti was easier to take out the screens and not mangle them.

a note to all vape manufacturers: please make all screens easy to install. I really hate shaping, prodding, manipulating screens to make them fit.

I actually pulled the bottom screen and replaced a week ago, the first time since ownership. It was actually pretty easy. I use my Mighty for long stretches before even basic cleaning. I have found that tongs and a teapot work great for cleaning along with a few alcohol wipes. Hold parts to the steam, then wipe off.

A question for all Mighty aficionados out there:

Having an option to get a regular Mighty or a Medic (and being a "regular" user, lol), why would you not opt for the Medic?

Your input would be appreciated.

I believe the Medic version was a compliance issue for Europe (and Canada) to be a medical device. I think it's just about labelling, yet it is identical to the Mighty.

If it were a Volcano I would pick the regular one as it goes to 230°C and i like that for liquid pad uses, while the Volcano medic only goes to 210.
The Mighty and Mighty medic have the same 210c ceiling and are virtually the same from what we know.
One difference is that the regular Mighty comes with a filling aid for direct to bowl filling, and the Medic replaces this item with an 8 capsule magazine.
There is the possibility that they go over the Medic units more thoroughly and you might have more peace of mind from this?

I think it's very cool and spacey looking, they could have use it in an "Alien" movie

yes, i'd say the volcano would fit better design wise, i'd guess aliens like bag vapes :D
But eg for storm troopers the crafty and darth vader with the mighty would fit...

I always thought of Batman and his belt of gadgets when I saw these vapes. Or maybe it shares some style of the last few Batmobiles, and I can imagine people saying those are a little ugly too!

Now you've got me thinking of a titanium HR. Giger edition Mighty! Although the price is already a huge concern for this!

Technically both are the same. The Mighty is only TÜV-certified as a medical device and so you can get a medical prescription on the Medic and health insurance in Germany pays for it. Therefore the Medic is about €100 more than the Mighty ;)

Too bad the medic does not swap out all the aluminium for stainless steel, I can`t believe they have an aluminium oven, everyone had a fit when Boundless were thinking of using aluminium in the Tera, why is this so different and accepted as fine?

Question.
I just read that soaking your CU with the screen is not advised. I soaked my CU with screen for a couple times now (in iso 99%). Just got routine and i forgot. How screwed am i?
Have a nice day!

It's not a problem at all. The only part that might ever be a problem is the locking tab because the hologram can start to loosen if soaked for a long time (though I've not experienced this, ever).
Soaking the screen is a good way to clean it. Use the brush, too, just let it air dry afterwards.

And on the same note, why is the plastic body/CU acceptable? I'm guessing there are different grades of both plastic and aluminum, and S&B uses a very high grade of both...

Where did you read that? It's the only way to clean the screen....

Don't know if anyone has mentioned it - here's a "how to clean the mighty" vid by S&B

well made, not questions left

I agree with @vapviking about leaving the CU screen in during cleaning. I honestly don't know why S&B suggests removing it tbh. That screen can be a PITA to get re-seated properly, so removing it imo should be a last resort, not a weekly task.

:peace:

yep, it's a bit tricky but with a little pre doming not that hard - i would say at least every 3. cleaning cycle CU screen removal is a must, there is quite some build up behind the screen and at the ridges for the screen, that the iso soak alone won't remove...
After all it's an instruction vid and should show everything to know -the bottom screen removal in the vid seems far more easy than all the other past suggestions.

And do you soak the silicone piece, that comes with the glass mouthpiece, in ISO too? Mine isn’t white anymore but kind of brownish even after cleaning it with ISO.

glass mouthpiece gasket replacement = medicinal grade silicone hose size 5/7 fits better than that original gasket which I lost and which was crawling under the cu, just by popping the mouthpiece in and out, this solved it and If I would lost it I just snap another piece from that hose. I was unable to use that part for a long time because of the lost gasket and nobody seems to know where to buy replacements, guess you wont need too.:haw::p:2c::peace::sherlock::spidey:

@simplywonderful thanks for the tips, I don’t really know where to find that in my country but I’ll look for it.
Everywhere in a hose shop or medicinal supplies shop / all things water
Can please you be more specific in size? I guess when buying a medical grade silicone hose it's measured in mm.
yes 5/7 = 0,71cm= 71mm, thickness is 0,1mm:sherlock::brow:
