I have 3 washers.... is that normal?
Yes, although you may not need them all.
If you keep the pick on it, you can probably remove one or so. You want the copper plate to lay flat when battery is inserted.
I don’t have a need for the pick (I don’t travel with my Milaana much, so no fear of accidental button press), so I need all 3 washers to make copper plate lay flat with battery.

I don’t use the pick either. But the mi is always where I am. I’m careful to have it placed in such a way as to avoid pressure on the button. Zero issues.

I can’t say enough what a valuable vape this has been for me. A couple of years at least now with zero problems, zero maintenance (other than the ocassional screen swap and stem rinse), fast, flavorful, effective, reliable performance. The vape deseves an award. Can’t wait for mi 2, just ‘cause if this one’s such a great device, the next one can’t be bad, even it it turns out not to be quite as good. It’s a no lose scenario!

Just as a side note, I picked up three lg brownies when I got the mi way back when and have rotated them evenly ever since. They might not be working like they’re fresh out of the box, but they still work aok. To me that means an efficient device, not only with the meds but also with the bats.

I use a reduced diameter bowl - the DDave 14mm held in place with a wee bit of silicone around the outside of the bowl. Works better than the glass reducer.

:peace:

What are the differences between the basket screen and the regular one? Any advantages of one over the other? Besides the size, of course.

Hey there, the rimmed basket creates a fixed bowl size. The regular basket can be pushed into the mouthpiece joint to increase the load space available.

EDIT: Oops, that might be exactly what you said you didn't need to know

The newer screens are easy to remove and clean, and they'll fit a wider range of inside diameters compared to the OG screens. Due to the better fit, convection airflow should be more even and balanced whereas sometimes the OG screens needed to be kinked to one side or the other in order to fit.

On the newer rimmed screen, there are two variants, the beta had a wider mesh that allowed a lot of kif to pull through. The newest iteration has a finer mesh and some tweaks for fit. That is my understanding at least.

(crossposting to Splinter thread)

Really digging the "melt-forming" cooling mouthpieces on instagram. I've found the Splinter/Milaana w/ a cooling mouthpiece is my favorite way to prep for a movie, but I'm too clumsy for the Vapefiend Milaana Cooling Mouthpiece (I've broken two, the internal glass doesn't like drops) so I'm looking for a sturdier solution.

In the meantime, I'm very happy w this very rough micro-dosing rig:

I'd been using DDave 14mm adapter but didn't like three parts - adapter, stem, and mini-basket - moving around on me. So I got a Slim Short stem and a Top Hat from 420EDC, added a couple mini-baskets, and hit everything w a shop torch long enough to stick or at least warp the glass pieces together. The result isn't pretty but it works.

My ideal setup would be two mouthpieces - one micro-dosing stem (made by someone w actual glass skills) for regular use, and one (decently hard to break) cooling stem for heavy hitting.

Calm Consistency
Forgot to make a post, but May 5th was the 2 year anniversary of one of the first batches (mine included) of Milaanas. Since then, I had that OG Milaana, then the first order of V1 Milaanas that ran super hot, then my Spalted Milaana. Sold the OG and V1 to my friends and they have quit combusting since. I have upgraded my Mi1 with a Mi2 and have gotten a Zion, and 3 or so Splinters (lost count at this point). Such a fun ride it's been. Even if the OG Milaana was my only vape, I'd still be stoked. That thing was a total beast!! Hard to believe it's already been 2 years with the Milaana. Thanks for all the great times, Mi Fam!

I've been giving my Milaana some love over the past week, and I just can't tell you how well my Milaana pairs with the medium length amber stems from @cannabis.pro's 420EDC. I use top hat screens, I think some folks call them rimmed screens too, and I'm able to get really dense, really flavorful vapor.

Like the kind Troy gets on his reviews.

I've also taken to drying my flower on a piece of paper suspended over a lamp with a low wattage bulb for 20-40 minutes before I grind.

It's really upped the vapor and overall experience with all my vaporizers.

I love mine with the reduced diameter @Alan 8mm glass lined Koa WonG! I like it much better than any of the other RBT/420EDC combo's. The 8mm sized tube just smooths things out so much better than 10mm/12mm offerings! IMHO! That is.....

I'm taking a break from my VAS for the summer, but I've got plans to speak to folks like Alan that are making stems and accessories for the vapes I use. It's one of the reasons I use the vapes I use-there are some cool accessories and cool people making them. I like supporting one-man shops and small companies.

Hi all, for me the crafty liquid pads are slightly too big to fit into the small or larger stem, are you just dropping the liquid pad into the milaana then resting the stem on top of it or something?

Also, it would be nice to have some caps to put over the stems so i can load a few and take out with me, is there anywhere in the UK i can purchase these? I did try my old arizer air caps on the milaana stems but they’re slightly too small.. thanks in advance! ✌

Nope, though Milaana batts work in Air (I think) the stock Air battery doesn't have enough amps (I believe it is only 5A and we need 20A here)
Thanks!

Hello, the S&B liquid pads for the dosing capsules are a perfect fit.

Some people do cut down the regular crafty or mighty pads, but personally, I'm a little afraid of inhaling a stray stainless steel fiber. ✌

That’s my worry to, please can you send me a picture of how you got it fitting in, i’m baffled as to why my liquid pads are too big

I've gone to using tophat/rimmed screens instead of the Liquid pads for the reasons mentioned.

The tophat screens provide a lot of what the pads did: restricted draw due to finer mesh, a bit more conduction and heat retention because of the finer mesh and more SS overall, giving larger hits and better extraction, and since the screen is 'fixed' it allows me to tamp loads easier without risking moving the screen.

It does require more frequent cleaning, and if I do concentrates I now need to use degummed hemp fiber, but that's a better trade-off than sucking in SS.

Are you using the pads that fit inside the dosing caps or the pad that fits in the vape chamber?

So Fury 2 Dosing Capsules are for sale - anybody tried them in an RBT stem yet?

I received the caps. I'll try them tomorrow and report back Wed or Thurs.

The HR caps are a few mm smaller than the ID of the stem so they will sit on the vape screen unless I pack the sides with hemp fiber, flat pipe screens or something else.

My digital scale is broke, but I'd guess the caps can only hold .04-.05 loose.

Darn I posted back to back and can't delete and merge. Can a mod please help. My apologies.

Modnote: Apology accepted.
