Electric Scooters

And That Ain't No Joke, You Can Disappear In Smoke
Well since I have been going to San Francisco more often lately for MJ, I have found that I really like going there again. Last time as I was cruising with my TREK MT. BIKE I saw many other types of transportation, specifically electric skateboards and scooters. I have spent several hours researching and I found a really powerful scooter(Like a skateboard but with stem and handlebars) that has a top speed of 28mph and a range of 34 miles, weighing in at 36 Lbs. Price $899 plus fast charger($100.00 and full charge in 3hrs.) at $100.00 and a seat for $100.00. Final cost with shipping and taxes $1050. I have e-mailed the company about products in stock and approx. shipping time a little while ago and when I here from them then I will proceed. The scooter is called USCOOTER Mini-4 available at ewheels.com in case anyone is interested.

Anyway I have not purchased yet and I was wondering if anyone else has an electric scooter or any experiences or info. Thanks, CYA.

Team NO SLEEP!
I'm not a big guy, 140 lbs, but I've not had much success with scooters that size (under 500watts).

For my bucks, I favor the SuperScooter Elite and Lithium series at 800, 1000 and 1500 watts.
They are bombproof and haul ass- even my big 200+lbs friends. . Goped Hoverboard is $$$$ but was lighter and had more torque and pickup than any I've ridden.

Well weight is a very big factor because I have to be able to lift unto the train which can be 4 steps or almost flat depending on the type of car. I heard that Cal-Train has purchased and recieved new cars so will have to see what those are like. The next scooter up for this company costs $1699 and weighs 52 Lbs and the distance is much more the speed isn't at 34mph. Anyway thanks for your input.

PS: Checked the SuperScooter site and while the price was right the weight was not at 92Lbs(including batt.) Like I said I'm 68 years old and a 92 pounder is way to much almost 3 times the weight of the one I have been looking to buy.

Well it seems that the powers that be in SF are going to go after the electric scooter mess very soon. Now I won't be buying one anytime soon. Oh well, that's life in the big city. Sayonara.

Well I have changed my mind again and decided to purchase this scooter, heck there are so many new types of transportation in SF, electric skateboards, electric unicycles, electric bikes, and hover boards. I think if I keep my cool and watch my riding and use common sense than I should be OK. I can't just be afraid I'll get in trouble, that's called paranoia. I also have to be very careful because this new little beauty is a very radical far-cry from my 7 yr. old TREK MT. Bike that probably weighs at least over 30 Lbs. Sayonara.

Well I just purchased the Speedway Mini-4 for $950.00 total and should get the scooter in 3 to 10 days from now. I'm pretty excited now for my future transportation adventures. Thanks y'all for info and support. Sayonara.
