Looking for a new vaporizer for lower temperature spectrum... What's the best vaporizer for lower temps (158-165C°) ? Preferably portable.

My old DaVinci Ascent has precise temp controls (c and f I believe), and it allows you to set fairly low temps, but I doubt it compares favorably to the newer models. The DaVinci IQ might be worth checking if you want conduction though.

I think that’s a basic question you need to work out for yourself too: Do you want convection, conduction, or a mix?

What are the other things that matter to you beyond the temp settings?

I know the 3 vapes I have (DaVinci Ascent, NewVape FlowerPot and now Dynavap Omnivap XL) can all be used at low temps, and if you don’t need precise temp control the Dynavap stuff is very portable and works well in my limited experience with it, but I think there are a lot of vapes now that can be used at low temps and knowing what else matters to you would help people to help you.

You might want to check out the Fury 2. I have been able to get some pretty decent clouds at 165C° plus the company is awesome (great customer service). The vape is around $149 with a water pipe adapter kit. It is both conduction and convection heating. The Fury 2 also has precise temp settings as well.

I would tell you about the mighty !!
where you mark exactly the temp you want in the oven ... maybe 100C? 125C? 137C? you decide the temp !!

I've had the old mighty but sold it... The auto shut off was annoying and cleaning was PITA.

Doesn't matter if it's convection, conduction, or mixed. I just want the best possible performance on low temperatures. Precise temp control would be nice if i want to choose the 158°C-165°C spectrum...

i guess the best vape for these low temps would be the Volcano (digital) precise control over the temp and you take the influence of drawspeed out of the process which is huge, especilaly for these narrow ranges...

But it is the most "non-portable" vape ever...

Looks legit but not sure about how the performance would be... I was looking at the utillian 721 looks nice too and performance wise i can read that it's very competitive but minimal temperature is 170°C... It seems to be pretty tough to find the perfect portable for my needs :bang:

Are there some specific compounds you are looking to avoid by staying in this low temperature zone?

Let's say i enjoy the high better at these temperatures... I tend to stay away from higher temperatures as it personally destroys the fun of the high for me. I like to stay creative and productive and vaporize only once per week to once per month maximum.

I actually can relate and prefer that upbeat high too, but I tend to go around 350F for low temp heady effects. But I vape way more frequently than you so I often feel guilty about all the leftover compounds lol, so I go back and forth between low temp and high temp.

I prefer vaping flower from a desktop though.

You could try a Vapcap heated right on the cap.

You might also check out the Tubo.

I do understand the fear of losing the left over goodies.

The problem is, once you vaporize your herb at a low temperature en revape it at a higher temperature you never get the same effect.

Let's say if you vaporize your herb immediately at 375F you will get a much wider spectrum and thus vaporize far more goodies out of your herb.

If you vaporize it at a low temperature first and increase the temperature slowly or revape it at higher temperatures your high/stoned becomes crap IME. And also a session like this sucks IMO.

I rather set a temperature and vaporize it at just that temperature and throw my herb away. So let's say if i decide to vape at 330F i won't go any higher. I rather use the herb left overs for some delicious abv oil and bake some evil brownies with them for new years eve.

Some people will have a much greater experience of vaporizing all their herb at 375F. But ofcourse when it's day time and you still have things to do you have to think twice before you do such things.

I remember that vaporizing at such a temperature in the morning (wake n bake) made me pretty much useless for the rest of the day.

Another problem is that once you get accustomed to such temperatures you won't feel satisfied anymore from lower temperatures. Which is why i tend to stay away now from higher temperatures.

I rather vaporize from time to time and have the greatest experience of my high. Just fully enjoy the high as it should be like it's your first time. I don't need every day vaping or high temperatures anymore. I'm past all of that. I know what it's like trust me been there done that.

It's not healthy to lead a life like that at least not if you're NOT a medical patient. Respect to all the medical patients out there though you guys need it more than us recreational users.

I need: digital temp control, precise, portable, efficient, high vapor output, and high extraction performance at LOW temperatures. Are the solo II and mighty really my only options trust-wise? :hmm:

No, they are not your only options. The DaVinci IQ and the older Ascent I have are a couple of other conduction options, the Ghost MV1 is a convection option.

I’m sure there are others to consider, and your added requirements do help, but low temps are not the most widely used/discussed here so I have limited feedback on this one...

I would also read up on the Mighty if you’re interested in it. A lot of people think it’s great, but they’re mostly using higher temps and larger loads. From what I’ve heard, it’s not the best at micro-dosing.

If you’re willing to drop the precision requirement a VapCap would also be a good option for your use case, but you would need to experiment a bit to learn how long to heat it to get the temp range you’re looking for.

If you’re willing to drop portability, a log vape might also be a good option. Even something like the FlowerPot or Evo would work for desktop.

I do enjoy lower temps on the FlowerPot, but I’m usually up higher because I use it primarily for its pain reducing/muscle relaxing/sleep-inducing properties.

Hopefully more frequent low temp users will have some other good suggestions for you, but I think you have a few good options now!

Personally I do live another vaping lifestyle compared to you.
I am not medical user (maybe?). That makes me recreational.

I vape full extraction in a vapcap.
thats the closest to combustion you can do effect-wise.

Is it a healthy lifestyle. The one that get shit done and let you move forward?
I dont know. Your words tingle me a bit.

The lower temps feel incomplete to me and I drift into paranoia and psychosomatic tachycardia.

Good for you to have cannabis as a 1-2/ a month thing.

Solo2 is still my vote.
It's a very easy vape.
Low maintenance.
Can be loaded with less than 0.1g (microdosish)
great flavor
full temp control
looong battery life
quick heatup (like 15-20sec in your temp range)
great with water

Yes, there is no "perfect" vaporizer. They all have their plus and minus. You need to consider what the features that you need and what are nice to have but not necessary, and of course price point.

I have a lot of vapes, but I would have to say that I am very impressed with the performance of the Fury2. Here are some pros: vapor is pretty smooth, it is easy to use, easy to clean, well built, comes with some accessories that for other vapes will be charged extra, pretty discrete, and they have a sweet warranty program. Cons: battery life it not great, batteries are not interchangeable, can't do concentrates, bowl size is a little small for some.

I don't know much about the Utillian 721 nor the company, but if you are interested in the Fury2 I would check out the thread. Healthy Rips the company is very active in the forum so you can ask them questions. The company from what I have seen is super transparent and open to feedback.

Good luck in finding what you want.

In my experience since you're only vaporizing a reduced portion of the cannabinoids, the only way to really increase vapor density is to vaporize more material at once. That's why I prefer a desktop for flowers. IMO no vapor output at 330F is going to be that impressive without some solid LED backlighting to highlight the vapor.

Ok seems fair... I know that extraction on low temp might no always result in visible vapor. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't feel any effect. Sometimes even without visible vapor you get high as f*** :science:

Maybe i shouldn't have highlighted vapor output as so important. But there is a visible difference in some vaporizers... Some have a stronger extraction which results in more vapor output with the same batch of herb...

The new Haze Square Pro is a new portable convection vape that allows you to set precise temps (see forum here http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/haze-square.20593/)

I tend to vape in the 380-390f range, but when I am sick with a cold, I go back to my trusty old Vapir NO2 - set the temp to anything you want up to 400f - precise controls and temp output on an LCD display. I'll vape at 360 or so for my throat. It's always cool, and it takes it's time. It is a portable...but it looks like a big black dildo.

Space is the Place
WHat is holding me back from the Arizer Solo 2 is the fact that the stem is glass and i wonder if the heating element is really that good for low temperatures...

The Solo 2 is great on lower temps. . . and great on higher temps.

What would lead you to believe the Arizer "heating element" wouldn't keep up on low temps when it holds it on high temps?
