Boundless Tera

Another item on the list for v3 :uhh:

So other than the mods, there are 2 'minor' annoyances that I had to patch with this device, however they're rather simple to fix. First is the door rattle, it can be fixed by placing a piece of tape or paper inside the door as mentioned here before. The other thing is the chamber screen coming out, which can be fixed by using reclaim(honey) as glue :D and yes it actually works and holds - this thing is sticky as hell :p

Just want to leave a quick note to thank you all for your in-depth discussion and questions on the Tera, as well as the advice I've been given here. I dropped my Tera off at the post office today and have decided to replace it with an Arizer Go, which I'll hopefully receive soon. I really appreciate all the knowledge you guys shared as it helped me immensely in making up my mind. Thank you and for those who decided to stick with the Tera, good luck and I hope it will bring you all you hoped for with no more new issues!

Agreed. I stopped using the chamber screen as intended and instead use it on top of my material. It pushes the material down just enough to keep it in when i dump it over to retrieve the screen first. It also seems to provide a more even vape.

Sorry I'm not sure that I understood what you're actually doing and the purpose of it :freak:

The chamber screen is actually not mentioned in the manual, and it wasn't mentioned by Boundless at all up until few days ago when it suggested using it as part of its troubleshooting. This is similar to the CFC, where screens were provided but you could do without them. I did choose to put one in the Tera after it was suggested by bndls/PIU, because it can keep the chamber from getting dirty. I'd probably pass on it if I wasn't able to stick it down there though, but I did as mentioned in the post above :D.
It probably does make it a bit more even, or I suppose more 'convectiony' because it prevents direct contact with the stainless steel chamber bottom.

Oh i'd use it on the bottom if it actually did anything. So far, I have noticed no difference so I'd figure i'd let you know about a way to use them that's actually useful. it sits on top of the herb in the chamber and then is pushed town into the chamber. It is indeed making contact with the chamber. This way seemed like it may be a good way to use it if you're worried about losing your screens.

The difference between sessions was having light green still visible on the outside edges after a session compared to with the screen where I get an even dark brown all around. I'll try and get some more pics up if that'll help.

The purpose is to have a better vaping experience and not worry about losing the extra items in the chamber. I havent tried any of this with the normal MP's but it works great with the WPA. I havent had any issues with my wpa slipping out so I dont really see the need to mod that part on my end.

Here are pics of the easy mods ive noticed make vaping better on the device. Youcan also sit an eq elbow screen right in it right side up with a normal mp to get better and smaller loads (just tried).

Start from the bottom first I believe. You can see the different uses for this specific area with just these two extra pieces.

Ohh you didn't mention using it with WPA, in this case the screen is not really on top of the herb, because the whole device goes upside down :). Considering the bad screen in the new WPA, I see why you do it.
BTW I vape on max herb temp only (which is possible due to the bubbler mod, or the WPA in your case) and it always comes out dark brown regardless of the screen, so I assume you use yours on lower temps.

It's actually the same amount of screens you should be using anyways. (the one that's wedged in the mp is taken out to use the eq elbow screen and the one put in the bottom of the chamber is instead put on top).

I threw those little screens that came in the mouthpieces back in the box.

They need to do a much better job with their Quality Control. I was honestly shocked that the CF or CFX did not gain this kind of traction when these units off-gas and the plastics cracking like crazy after using it for a bit. I'm pretty experienced with the CF/CFX since so many of my friends have it and the main issue is always cracking plastic and it stops working after a while. I'm starting to suspect the material they use it with whether it's the plastic casing or something else is not supposed to be heated to that level and when it is, it will start off-gassing, crack, and eventually break. Then again, the average consumer does not look at these things and if it produces vapor/smoke, they are okay with it. This industry needs to be more carefully regulated and it's a very gray area. It should honestly be illegal to sell vapes that causes any kind of risk to our health. That's why folks... you should always do your research, trust brands that have been in the industry for a while and understand the logic behind the inner workings of these vaporizers.

P.S. Materials used in these Chinese manufactured vapes (SMISS) are extremely similar to the materials used in replica vapes. It's unreal when you actually buy a replica vape from DHGate to compare and it's like the same.

EDIT:

Here's a video I just took of my CFX off-gassing. I've had it for I think two years now and haven't really used it due to this issue.

Are you kidding me??? That thing looks like it needs a good cleaneing. I quarantee you got reclaim in the the heater. I have to clean mine every few days to keep THAT from happening. Look at the video at 0:35. That thing looks pretty cruddy! I use the ELB's and after a couple days you can see honey on the bottom screen. If you leave it there WHERE do you think its going? Heat, gravity and lack of cleaning looks like the culprit IMO.

So after receiving a new Tera from my original order from Cream City Vapes, it is safe to say my unit has no noticeable off-gassing or vapor coming from the device when not in use. This particular device I have tested with 5 battery cycles of burn-offs. I spaced them apart with more than enough time for the unit to cool down and not risk damaging the heater. I ISO soaked the standard mouthpiece for an hour and rinsed it extensively in hot water. After using it regularly for a few days after my tests I have concluded that from what I can tell there is no off-gassing. Every once in a while when I push the temp to 400f there is a slightly weird taste but it doesn't happen with any temp past the initial 400f. This might be some of the manufacturing oils still remaining that have to be pulled off-gassed through inhalation, a little discerning. Do you think it would damage the vape to blow through the air vent on the bottom to help get rid of some of these remnants?

The video I posted was off a Tera from another vendor. It seems to be that the off-gassing is related to a few defective units.

I blew through the bottom air hole on mine when running it in concentrate mode for my burnoffs, never got anything visible out of it and it works fine. I checked after my first few bowls to see if it'd started offgassing when the bowl is empty, and saw nothing, was using the chamber screen in the bottom. Eventually when emptying it the screen only partly came out and some avp spilled into the unscreened bottom, and turning it on with the chamber empty made a little visible vapor. I gave it a sniff though and it just smelled of weed, so not anything at all that concerns me. The bowl gets extremely hot, so I'm sure residue accumulates there and contributes as well, again not something I'm worried about. Very happy with my unit so far.

lol okay bud.

I rarely use my CFX (maybe about 20 times in two years) and I attempted to clean it and see if I would be able to get the vapor to stop, but nope... it just keeps going. That video I posted I shot quickly so it was definitely dirty. I listened to some members here and cleaned the thing pretty thoroughly after and it does it for two full battery cycles which was over an hour.

The thing with the CFX is you notice a certain mechanical/chemical taste when you have used all the top tier vapes and the high is certainly different. It gives you more of a headrush/headache type of high, not sure how I can explain it, but hey... if the vape is working perfectly fine for you, great!

I don't want to criticize any vape companies since they all seem to be pretty chill... however one thing to note... Boundless... I forgot what their company used to be called, but when they first came out on the scene, they were marketing a rebranded hebe titan. I think it was called something Fury. Not exactly sure, but they also had livestream videos back then showing their products like they do now. Not saying they still do the same practice, but it's something to note.

I do not agree with this what so ever. The CF/X has been an absolute monster of a vape for me, one of the best portables I have tried. The taste is fine to me I have never noticed a mechanical/chem taste what so ever. I have had them for two years now and they are still going strong with no problems. Just because you may have a bad unit doesn’t mean that boundless vapes suck there’s been lots of problems with s&b vapes but everyone still loves them.

The fury is from HR and was a rebrand.

The cfx is my favorite device for the fast charging. Everything should have it. The only reason ill be buying the next cfx will be for the fast charging. My cfx has just about been the best port vape ive had after i figured out how to open up the air resistance.

Just thought I'd share what the bubbler mod looks like after around a week of heavy use :leaf:

HnrO7Hk.jpg

I use it dry (no water) and I just love how it filters all the reclaim/debris that I would otherwise inhale. I was always against glass stems because I didn't like how dirty they look, but I'm cool with this one as the top stays clean while I'm able to see all the stuff that got filtered :D

The only problem here is that I would rather not filter any of that out as it is good medicine :D

I'm sure it's not harmful or anything but I'm happy to avoid inhaling bits or sticky thing or anything other than vapor. On the CF for example, I had itchy throat or cough often times (and I vaped at lower temp than the Tera) and all that filtered gunk stuff may be a reason for it.. could just be the heat, can't really know. No issues with the Tera though, I vape at constant 428F and my throat is clear

Do the Wapexhale ELB mod and you won`t get any crap in your teeth, for someone that loves modding shit, you should know that. :myday:

not true.. I've been using the ELB mod on the CF from day one, it didn't stop reclaim stickiness from building all around the inside of the mouthpiece.. so much of it that sometimes it got completely clogged
