Puffco Peak

Welp, only took 5 days for me to get a reply from Puffco support this time. They will not allow me to return (for refund) my Peak that has stopped working twice in the month that I've had it. They are honoring the warranty and offering to let me send it back for testing/replacement, but who knows how long that will take. I've already had to wait 2 weeks for a replacement atomizer.

Really poor customer service experience overall with this company. Would not recommend Puffco to anybody after this.

I'm not trying to punch you while you're down or anything but unfortunately that's pretty standard policy for this industry, no?

Standard policy for any company in any industry should be to accept a return if you buy a product that stops working within a week. The warranty is good and fine, but I should also have the option to not be saddled with it.

I bet in Germany it's like that! They have way better consumer protection laws apparently.

I do send gratitude your way for sharing though bud. It's real user feedback like yours that heavily influences where my dollars will go.

I've already reached out to about 9 of the Alibaba vendors. They all want you to do the transaction out of Alibaba via money gram and won't send samples. They are not from China and I assume they are scams. Once China releases their sales on Alibaba, It will be legit

Wonder how long before they end up on dhgate, I'd imagine they are PRC made anyway?

I'm not saying I disagree with you that's just been my experience in this industry. As legalization furthers hopefully these things improve.
I unfortunately do not find that to be a sufficient answer in this day and age. Any company can choose to stand behind their product and give exceptional customer service. In my experience, most do. For what it's worth, it's now been 7 days and I'm no closer to getting my twice-broken Peak returned or repaired. I'm starting to wonder if their support team is just one part time employee.

Remember to only email them once then wait for a response, I was told if you email multiple times it puts you back at the end of the line.

Is there any vaporizer company other than vapexhale that offers a refund if unsatisfied or defective? I’ve never heard of it and was pretty surprised that vapexhale started doing it.

Pretty sure MiniVAP does it as well, and Planet of the Vapes does it as a retailer which is unheard of too.

LOVE companies that stand behind their products, and even retailers like POTV and Puff it Up will not let you be unhappy with your purchase!

That’s awesome, more companies should do this for sure. Unfortunately being an early adopter with vaporizer tech usually means a high chance of a failure in my experience.

I did my research on the peak before purchase, seeing that the company offered no refunds and that the device had a high failure rate and mediocre customer service I knew I was taking a big risk in getting the peak and sure enough my first one was defective. Customer service took forever due to a lack of a telephone number but now I have a new peak base and it works great so far.

Oh so they are following Hopper Labs lead with the no phone as well eh? An established company like Puffco, really?

Sucks because I do have a hard on for this device... i've been watching Bubbleman taking it all around Vancouver and loving the thing, but so disheartened by the quality, as well as Puffco's reputation. So i've been watching the Dr Dabber Switch, although it appears that the company and products aren't much different than Puffco, but at least they are present on the forum.

The other thing is that dabs need to be loaded cold right? Not sure this would be any good for my rosin stash since you can't even wipe on the sides yeah?

Almost there...
Has anyone seen the China versions of these yet? Exactly the same unit and it has a lot of people upset.
I know nothing about this unit, only what I have read and seen on IG but it seems like it has some issues with reliability.

I also saw a glass artist on IG Spacewalkglass is making accessories for it and they look awesome!

I really like the peak, especially with a good quartz insert, and I still don’t regret buying one even with getting a shitty one at first. As long as they will keep honoring the warranty I’ll be happy but I do hope it does not break again, but I do expect it to happen at some point, either I’m bad luck or it is the early adopters curse...

Dabs can be loaded hot or cold: just drop it in cold, turn on then hit when it vibrates or to dab hot turn on then dab traditional carb cap style after the vibration. it’s easy to get stuff off the dabber if you dab the traditional way and hear it up first, the material will slide right off when you touch the bottom of the bucket.

The thing about not loading on the sides is weird as fuck. What were they thinking with that?

Yeah it sucks that it only heats from the bottom so the sidewalks take a long time to get really hot. I find with the quartz insert that I can cold load on the side and the heat will transfer fast enough to make the oil slide down the wall and work just fine. Alternatively you can heat it up first then hit like a traditional rig no problem. I can get huge hits with quartz on red, haven’t even tried white. The ceramic isn’t bad for really small dabs but cold side-loading does not work well, better to heat up first then hit it.

I'm with you there... but in defense of "necessity being the Mother"......
I became adept at aiming all dabs to the bottom. We all have that special tool, that let's us get it in there and hit bottom. The target is at very least wide enough for this patient with spasticity to hit it on the spot.

This happened today and they already got back to you? I emailed them over 48 hrs ago about my broken unit and still no reply :(
I got a response within 24 hours. The best way to get in touch with them is to send 1 and only 1 email to support and to also dm @puffcosupport (not puffco)on instagram, also comment on a post and tag puffcosupport so they see it.

I first contacted Puffco about my broken Peak on 4/28. I got a reply on 5/2 explaining my warranty options and requesting some follow up information. I replied by the end of day with the information requested. On 5/4 I asked for a status update. As of right now I am still awaiting a reply.

There's just no reason why it should ever take this long, irrespective of the refund. Especially when compared to Dynavap, who I placed an order with yesterday and was able to call and immediately speak to the OWNER OF THE COMPANY to make a modification, and Dr. Dabber where I was also able to speak to a live rep about my Switch pre-order. Puffco, it's one thing if you have production issues out the gate, as long as you have the resources in place to take care of the early adopters who were affected. But this is creating an outright bad experience for your customers and turning them into detractors of your brand. Just really missing the ball here.

Is the carb cap glued at the point of contact ? Mine has a white flaky ring without being able to use the peak as the atomizer broke.
