Discontinued Supreme Vaporizer

How would anyone who has them compare the vapor from the Supreme to the other two currently popular heavy-extractors, the Flowerpot and the Glass Symphony?

The FP & SV3 go hand in hand together!

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/glass-and-milkshot-video-thread.7443/page-17#post-1193995

The FP maintains a constant temp w/ the PID while the SV3 starts loosing heat after your done torching it (unless you get the @JCat enail mod ).

FP works best w/ a grind, where the the Supreme can do both nugz & ground material (not too fine though, right fellas :sherlock: ).

Both have signatures that kick asssssss!

GS XLR intrigues me more & more by the day. Looks like a crazy, super duper fast extractor. I really want one.

Everything I've read & everyone I've talked to says the Sub is the biggest hitter, but...I don't beleive it's available right now & it's expensive af. For the price of a Sub, you could probably get two of the three instead (FP, GS & SV3), grab a bong like mine in the above link & use two at the same time. I'd rather have 2 of the above than just a Sub.

:2c:

Well I still have a Sub here from a buddy (got it borrowed out).
Does it hit hard? Absolutely.
But it’s different.

You have to wait 20 mins til it’s ready.

You are able to go trough large numbers of herb in no time - fill it , vape it, sprinkle more herb on top. Vape more.

It’s easy to use even for novices. Compare that to the sv3.

To judge the Sub it’s maybe 10% harder + you can consume more herb easily - tough you do not have to, it is effective with less either.
Setting up is not hard - done in 1min or so.
And it’s silent opposed to the hizzling of a large jet torch.

For a quick hit a big no#-no. Weekend-relax or with a few friends: here it shines.
Similar to „the all automatic Mighty with already filled capsules vs the vapcap - if you are going solo both has pros/cons. BUT in a group don’t waste time ellaborating the vapcap (my experience at least!)

A couple of vapcaps and an induction heater plus an sv3 and the magic flight orbiter are a great combo for a group of friends. In fact I just did exactly around 12!

@Ramahs you missed to name the Sublimator.. that’s a contender as well, kinda the alternative to the FlowerPot.

I know, I know. The Sublimator is one of the older heavy-hitters. But it's stpidly overpriced compared to what's available right now. And, to be honest it's not something I'd consider "currently popular", as it feels a bit old-school to me and I don't see it recommended much any more. It seems to have had it's place in prominence replaced by the two I mentioned.

At least that's the impression I had by what I've been seeing across the forums recently. But I take it that you dissagree

I see your point, no question. The Sublimator is crazy expensive.

friend of mine bought it for around 350€ with quite some addons (like 2 of those heat-chain-thingies which make the Sub behave like a Supreme) and that price is - in relation to standard Sub prices relatively cheap - this influenced me quite some bit tough:
Even at this price I do not consider it a steal.

A good comparison is of interest to me as well btw!

That's pretty good. That's about half the price of the basic kit on their website here.
But, that's off-topic enough. Thousand-dollar vapes don't usually become that popular because most people can't afford them.

I'll shut-up about it now.

It is not really about affordability I had say.
But if you compare it to other top of the line vapes (even at that time) most good desktop vapes were / are $200 to maybe $400 with more feedback / reviews.
Even if they can afford rationalism tells one „get the cheaper one, everyone says it’s premium as well“

That’s my take on it.
And that’s why I think a straight in-depth comparison of those highend vapes is of interest .

But there already are some threads about comparison of SH/FP <-> Herborizer Ti <-> Supreme V3

I think the comparison to other vapes is a bit flawed; being the only torch based device changes the experience significantly. An FP or a Sub are somewhat similar both in result and operation, but since you can't expect an Sv3 to always be at temp, the issue here is about how to ride the temp wave throughout the session. You also have to keep your attention focused on the torch while you heat it...

Since you have them narrowed down, I'd advice you to picture yourself using each of them, then choose the one you feel more comfy with from all presepectives, for example: "yes its pricey/fragile/whatever but I'd feel more at ease using this everyday, on my couch/desk/whatever than the other more pricey/fragile/whatever model". It's how I did it. Youtube helps a lot in that respect.

Don't worry, eventually you'll get them all, it's just the order that matters :D :worms:

I personally couldn't stand the cleaning routine w/ the Sub. I found the way the bowl and stem gunked up, and at the cost to have a spare, it was crazy time consuming to clean these on a regular basis (but I like my stuff to be "like new" clean @ least every few days of usage, somewhat variable based on device, but w/ the Sub it was max 3 days before I had to clean it as I couldn't stand it any longer). The Supreme V3 (although I'm running w/ the electric mod) on the other hand, I clean the stems maybe once a week because they get so little buildup and the vaporizer itself stays nearly spotless (I occasionally, every couple months, fully disassemble and clean/boil, replace silicone, etc)

The FP is definitely of interest to me, but have not acquired one as of yet. My love affair with my Sub lasted less then a month though, and after that I used it occasionally (as it is a lot of fun and a definite heavy hitter!), before selling it off as it just wasn't something that would see my regular rotation due to heavy maintenance requirements, long heat-up time, ...

I've been using my SV3 as my daily vape since I've made it electric (2-3 months maybe?) and used it quite a bit before that w/ butane as well ... it's much lower maintenance in my opinion and equally heavy of a hitter.

Flavour is not so important for you?
I've the SH, Sup v3 and the Herbo Ti.

Flavourwise no one gets it so good as the Sup. It's my desktop first choice when testing the aroma profile of a new strain. Shades of flavour are so finely differentiated. But it looks ugly as shit and is made of cheapest parts, at least it feels so.
Loading the bowl and inserting it into the Sup is a bit fiddly and you have to re-heat it after each longer draw or after the 2nd at least. Therefore I'd highly recommand to pair it with @JCat 's elec convo kit if it's inteded to used as dd.
But I wouldn't go with the S4. S3 with JCat kit is more versatile and I guess with a good controller better performing than the S4.
You have directely to order it at Ed (and @JCat) Otherwise the only retailer in Europe is lacentralevapeur.

The Herbo Ti is a bit more flat flavourwise but a great hitter, smooth and neverthelesss tasty. And you've an all glass path. Additional purchase of the microdose bowl recommanded.
Dialing of the analog controller (4-7 for herbs) is not as accutate as the pid controller of the SH. Probably the soon coming Herb Ti Digi does it better.
The only European product coming from France

The SH is the most versatile device. Playing with temps, capped/ uncapped use and different grinding degrees offer the possibility to find the best configuration for each strain exately for your liking. Easiest to load/unload and indestructable. And also a heavy hitter for sure. But tastewise never so good as the Sup3.
To order directly at NewVape or in the UK at vapefiend.

I don't know. I love them all. But honestly I am using the SH the most.

But it's all a very personal thing. You can't do anything wrong with each of them.

Would like to test the GS. But it's so huge and breakable and I'm a bit erratic and unfocused.

Just got back from a buddy's place. Brought the Sup along for the ride. Gave my friends gf her 1st concentrate sandwich. Now they don't vape. Smokers & high temp dabbers. She was fuckin' floored! She was surprised by how long it pumped out vapor & even said she can't remember the last time she'd been that high that fast. This shit's for real people!

Also got some absolutely killer fuckin' bud recently. One I forgot the name of but it's a straight indica with the perfect stone. Looks straight out of a High Times mag. Dense, sticky, purple, frosty ass budz. This other stuff I got is a sativa dominant cross of Strawberry Cough & White Nightmare. It too is frosty AF! Anyway, vaped two bowls out of the Supreme. 1st w/ the convection mod, & the 2nd heating to 400°F then inserting stem. OMG. What a lovely sweet high. Felt it all through body. Waves of energy just flowin throughout. Awesome! Felt like edibles lite. It's about two & half hours later & I'm still feeling amazing. So positive. Man, this is some killer bud. And this is an amazing vape. So damn versatile. Wanna do some convection dabz out of her sometime soon. :brow: Budz like this should not be a special treat...THEY SHOULD BE THE NORM!

My thermometer won't turn off or switch from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Anyone else ever have this problem ?

The temp reading is still working (going up and down), but it seems the 2 thermo control buttons aren't working. :hmm:
