Underdog Log Vapes

Attention all heavy users!!!!

Anyone who has the Alpha core.

Does anyone load .25 or so to get huge rips?

If so, how well does it work?

I know this is more of a micro dose vape but im wishing the Alpha can put out some power?

.25 is indeed a lot of herbs for a log vape!
I wouldn't say it would be something you would do frequently with a stem, since those kinds of hits are hard to take without water cooling/moistening the vapor. But it can fit in the oversized Nylon Direct stem, by adjusting the basket a bit deeper from the "standard" position.

Now, if you are using a water tool, the chamber size of the XL 18mm NonG can take those kinds of loads but you would most likely need more that one cycle to fully clear/extract that chamber.

The alpha works quite well with small loads as well, but it really shines when paired up with water and a little bit more material.

*edit*

Even with that in mind, .25 is two to three times more material than I would normally use with the Alpha OS stem/NonG or the XL NonG.

Here are some pics the alpha stems:
The first DirectDraw and NonG from the left are standard sized ones for comparaison.

Hey thx this helps me.

So, from left to right is the standard stem, OverSized (OS) stem, and then XL stem. Correct?

Do you find the vapor is denser with any certain stem selection?

Would you assume the standard works best with .1 size loads and then the OS stem is better for around .2?

Anyway you'd be able to upload vaping videos using each?

Also what type of flavor profile do these vapes put off? Would it be similar to the Sticky Brick Vaporizer flavor since they are both produced out of different types of woods correct?

@puffykat

You could draw from the gong and nongs but the air path would be very short and the vapor is quite hot.

If you dont have a water pipe, you'll probably want one eventually so I would reccomend at least a gongnor long (or both).

I prefer my direct draw glass stem to the ss. But I like bigger hits. (The ss and nylon direct draw stems share the same small screen size. The direct draw thick glass has the larger ((OS nong size) baskets.

I own one of all the stems and only use 3.

Short gong, OS nong, dd thick glass

I'm going to be purchasing an UD very soon and need advice on which stems to choose.

Are the longer stems better?

Can the NonG and/or GonG stems be used by themselves in the log or do they have to be used with a water device?

Thanks!

Basically, I use the Gong and Glass direct draw stem for tastier hits. I use the Nongs for small one hits that seem to really pack a punch. Not as much flavor but the Nongs get me higher somehow. All the stems that I have are great but I usually use the short fat Nong stem with a bubbler. Very good setup for quick and powerful hits. :)

You will LOVE the UD. Pick a variety of stems and see what you prefer. You can always order other stems later too. Enjoy!

From left to right:
Standard Nylon Direct Draw Stem, Oversized Nylon Direct Draw Stem, Standard NonG Stem 18mm, Oversized NonG Stem 18mm, XL NonG Stem 18mm.

They can all produce pretty thick vapor, it really all depends on the grind, load size, draw strength and temperature used. That being said, I would say the NonGs have a bit of an advantage due to the water tool its used with. They allow you to draw with more force, producing thicker vapor. DirectDraw wins for flavor.

None of the standard stems would fit with the Alpha. The smallest stem that can be used with these cores are the oversized stems and the XL 18mm NonG. All of the stems can take a wide range of loads. but I would certainly say the OS works well with .1g loads and that the XL NonG would be better suited for larger ones.

Not set up for taking videos right now, since I am in the middle of a move.

Haven't had the chance to try out a Sticky Brick yet. But having tried a wide range of vapes including many convection ones. I would say that this vape is phenomenal for flavor. Especially when used with a DirectDraw stem and lower temperatures. I use it at 10v-10.5v for best flavor and crank it up towards 11.5v when running it through water.

Great advice/info thx.

How fast is the extraction speed?

How many seconds would you say it takes to extract .1?

Also whats the best inhalation speed for this device?

Ive feel some vapes do better when inhaling hard and other work better when inhaling slowly.

Starr with a slow draw to pull some warm air into the flower and finish with a slightly faster draw.

This is especially helpful when paired with a water pipe.

For direct draw, you'll want to feel it out.

A long slow hit could get warm enough to combust. Too fast and you'll have airey vapor.

Each dog is a little different, so you'll need to feel it the voltage range and draw speeds.

Start with maybe 10.3 to 10.5 volts and see how that feels. Bump it up to 10.8 and test it. Etc.

Ive gone as high as 11.3 volts with a water pipe and was flirting with combustion.

I personally love with mine around 10.8 to 11.0 and 98% am paring it with a water pipe and the OS nong.

Totally makes sense thanks for the info.

But so how fast is extraction speed?

That is really important to me.

How many seconds before it starts to produce vapor?

Instantly, or near instant - check out my Instagram for lots of UD videos. Link is in my signature.

It wont produce vapor if you're not drawing. Air needs to flow through the herb.

And a draw could be 5 seconds to as long as you want. Somewhere between 12 and 30 seconds would be clear most bowls.

You can sometimes get a second rip as well, but a bit shorter in duration.

It really all depends on the herb and its moisture content, screen placement and draw speed, voltage and stem choice

Hey guys, it looks like my underdog started malfunctioning, I plug it in and it just does not get hot, or it gets just warm ...

Although it is a vaporizer that I love to use, with an excellent steam production, I used it a little time in this period, because it takes about 10 minutes to reach the ideal temperature, most of the time I would prefer to resort to mine omnivap, so I do not have so many hours of use, I think it's strange to stop working like this ...
Any suggestion? I'm short on cash

right now that I just bought some accessories for him ...really sad

Just search Underdog vaporizer or underdog vaporizer review on Youtube and you'll find UD videos.

Hotz it's often the power supply or extension cord that's at fault, if you can try another 12V power supply you'll know if it's that or your 'Dog that has the problem.

@RUDE BOY gave spot on advice.

Try your unit with the wall watt to vvps to extension cord to UD / wall wart to vvps to UD / wall wart direct to UD

You may be able to identify a cheap and simple fix

I have quite a few stems now, but this is what I'm using most now:

I took the Stainless Steel Stem, Lite and I cut off about 1/3 of it, and I put the fat mouthpiece from my VapCap on the end. Then I put that in my 14mm to 18mm adaptor, and I use that in my 18mm bong.

I use this because the bowl is slightly bigger than the normal NonG but it still fits inside the heater. I'm getting bigger hits and I can vape it all in one or two big hits.

It works even if you don't make it shorter, but it's better if you cut some of it off so that it's more stable.

Yep, guess that works too.

I'd want mine to be really short, 1.5" tip to tail max.

Great for the micro dose connoisseur.

My dog is back in the house and is on duty after small tightening at UD vet! So missed that dog! Did not realize just how much I used it. The next big promo with minis or something, I may just get a spare! Thanks again to Dog &Doggette! Love to load a hit or so and enjoy the smooth. Slap down strong Copper Chem for the win ya know!

So I have the tekpower power supply and the cable I got for it keeps falling out of the power output plugs. The banana plugs are just too small for the outlets.

Is there some kind of adaptor I can get to make them fit better? Or can I just cut them off and twist the wire around the posts and tighten the nuts down?

Also - is there any way to get my now defunct Wild Maple dog back in service? It suffered charring and you guys replaced it, but I have to admit, I really like my old gal better. Plus I'd like to loan a log vape to a friend of mine who is having serious insomnia. He's been reluctant to try MMJ because he doesn't want to smoke it. And my very first vape is packed somewhere so I can't loan him that one. If I ever find it, I'd GIVE it to him if it would help. But if the Wild Maple can get back in service, I'll have one to loan again.

Hey Curry

Unscrew the terminal lug/covers (on the Tekpower) all the way and see if there is a hole cross drilled in the post. If so you can remove your banana plugs, stick the bare wire thru that hole and then tighten the lug back down to secure it. Another option could be trying to slightly bend the banana plug conductor out a little wider so they make a tighter connection. Or do the twist around the post and tighten like you already mentioned. All should work fine.

We can probably get your Wild Maple Dog back in service but time is getting tight so send Underdogette a message ASAP and we'll see what's up and how to to get you squared away.
