I wanted to do a squish yesterday but I was seriously way too medicated to do it safely. This is 3.5g of some Strawnana Berry (Strawberry Banana x Blackberry Banana Kush) flowers I got at my caregiver a couple months ago. Been storing them with boveda 62's with an oxygen absorber. The smell on the flowers is very berry like, the banana is there but it's always competing with the natural skunk aromas of the herb. The rosin that it created, WOW, strawberry/berries in spades. I have a feeling this press may not budder up, none of the rosin had that sugary consistency.

I couldn't believe the yields off of this press at 190F. All of the rosin, even what was under the plates was extremely syrupy/sappy, I had to collect it after a quick chill. Enjoy! :leaf:

Nice squish bro! The sacred sap :science: Gotta love those big juicers, they just keep the enail bubblin'
That's pretty much right where I'm at too with my flower presses - 200F on the PID, 2 minute squish.

What press are you pairing with 3x5?

The Northern Tool Drake B-10 clone (Strongway).....desktop with remote hydraulics and pressure gauge. Was so tempted with the Harbor Freight H presses at incred low prices BUT then decided a pressure gauge for experimenting (pressure/time/temp) would be really valuable/necessary. And the Strongway seems built way better than HFreight so it should be very reliable.
Now I need to look up the online owners manual again. If my memory is correct, I think the assembly instructions were many many many pages long. I glanced once and left as it was hurting my head :)

The HF presses are actually not bad. So many people use them they've pretty much proven they're up to the task.
...............................................................
Maybe the biggest negative on HF was shipping probs----the box is smashed in and damaged etc and getting it fixed, and many said box was missing parts (had that hassle). So maybe once you get it undamaged and with all the parts, your Harbor Freight is good to go the distance :)

I agree, have missed parts myself. It happens. Luckily easily fixed at a hardware store.

Some are local to HF though so good choice to inspect and pick up at B&M.

Just a friendly reminder for all new rosin peeps, be sure to grab/consider:

Some rosin filters to pair with your plates/methods, especially if pressing loose material
Thermometer to verify plates temps (javelin probe, k-type thermocouple, IR thermometer (least accurate))
Parchment paper (kirkland @ costco, reynolds, raw)
Glass vials to store rosin in (or the dabpress bamboo kit if you need everything in a beautiful case)
If you have not stepped up to a desktop vaporizer, an enail with water tool perhaps? ;)
Notepad to document your efforts (always looking to improve, yes?)
Pre-press molds to pair with your filters/methods
