I certainly was never guilty of inhaling the co2 out of our whip cream cannisters at the Rax I worked at in high school. Nothing like trying to top a milkshake with "limp" cream cuz ur shady co-workers huffed em all.
Some of us just kept our lips opened loosely. That was before I ever heard the term "offgassing"

Colorado Was the First State to Legalize Marijuana. Now Its Governor Won't Rule Out Recriminalizing It

Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper tells CNN he is not ruling out making marijuana illegal again, as the state’s crime rate has been rising since recreational use of the drug was made legal in 2014. As of yet, there’s no research that ties the increased crime rate to the Colorado’s recreational pot law.
Nothing worse than an unprincipled triangulating Democrat.

Magic Mushroom Legalization Is Getting Closer In Denver

A group called Decriminalize Denver has got 9,500 signatures on a petition to put magic mushroom legalization to a people's vote. The referendum, which would happen in may along with the normal election (an extra choice to make on the same ballot), is not a sure thing yet, but Denver's Elections Division is currently reviewing the signatures (they have 25 days).

I believe the high from whipped cream canisters is n2o, nitrous oxide. The same stuff in the "whippets" people used to buy from "head shops" where everything was for "Tobacco only".

Denver council moves to open 2 square miles for social marijuana use, despite mayor’s opposition

The Denver City Council on Monday took a step to boost the slow growth of the city’s social-use cannabis businesses.

In a 9-2 preliminary vote, the council moved forward a proposal that would allow the marijuana-use businesses to operate closer to rec centers, day cares and other facilities.

Carl’s Jr has cooked up a CBD burger and it will be selling it exclusively at one Denver location on 4/20

The putting-CBD-in-everything craze will reach a new level on Saturday when fast-food chain Carl’s Jr releases a specialty cheeseburger at one of its Denver locations topped with CBD-infused sauce. Must be 18 or over to order.

Denver not considering demonic ramifications when decriminalizing psychedelics, former addict says

The city of Denver is set to decriminalize psychedelic mushrooms, a move a former drug addict says is opening the city up to demonic activity, just as it does in the life of a drug user.

Final unofficial results posted late in the afternoon Wednesday showed that Initiative 301, a measure which essentially tells police to look the other way regarding adult psilocybin use, is slated to narrowly pass with 50.6 percent of the vote, according the Denver Post.

Government of CO report out on effect of legalization is at https://cdpsdocs.state.co.us/ors/docs/reports/2018-SB13-283_Rpt.pdf

A reporting on the report:
https://www.denverpost.com/2018/10/26/colorado-marijuana-impact-report/

TL;DR major findings:
Education

  • Colorado has not experienced an increase in marijuana use among young people, although it was the single most common reason for school expulsions in the 2016-17 school year, the first year it was broken out as its own category.
  • Marijuana also has not impacted graduation rates or dropout rates in Colorado. Graduation rates have increased while dropout rates have decreased since 2012.
Driving

  • The number of drivers in fatal crashes who tested above the legal limit of THC, marijuana’s active ingredient, decreased to 35 in 2017, down from 52 in 2016.
  • The number of citations for marijuana-only impairment stayed steady between 2014 to 2017 at around 7 percent of all DUI arrests. That’s roughly 350 citations out of nearly 5,000 DUI arrests each year, the report said.
Arrests

  • Total marijuana arrests dropped by half during a five-year period, decreasing to 6,153 in 2017 from 12,709 in 2012.
  • Marijuana possession arrests — the majority of all marijuana-related arrests — were cut by more than half during the same period, dropping to 5,154 from 11,361.
Crime

  • Pot grown illegally on public lands — an indicator for the size of the black market — also is on the rise with 80,926 plants seized in 2017, a 73 percent increase in five years.
  • Organized crime cases almost tripled in five years, increasing to 119 in 2017 from 31 in 2012.
Health

  • Rates of hospitalization with possible marijuana exposures increased steadily from 2000 through 2015.
  • The number of adults who use marijuana increased between 2014 and 2017, with men getting high more often than women and young adults ages 18 to 25 the most frequent users.

DENVER (AP) — Colorado has surpassed $1 billion in tax revenue from marijuana sales since recreational use of the drug was legalized in 2014.

The Colorado Department of Revenue says sales since legalization have topped $6.5 billion, generating $1.02 billion from taxes, licenses and fees. The state has more than 2,900 licensed marijuana businesses and more than 41,000 licensed workers in the industry.

Gov. Jared Polis says, “This industry is helping grow our economy by creating jobs and generating valuable revenue.”

The Denver Post reports marijuana revenue funds a variety of public health programs, including mental health services, youth literacy initiatives and anti-bullying programs in schools. The tax revenue goes to state and local governments.

Colorado was the first state to legalize recreational marijuana. Nine others and Washington D.C. have followed suit.

80% of Colorado shops tested tested positive for yeast and mold in their flower, shake and pre-rolls.

https://mjbizdaily.com/20-denver-cannabis-dispensaries-fail-mold-and-yeast-tests/

Random tests for mold and yeast at more than two dozen Denver-area cannabis dispensaries resulted in 20 stores being ordered to hold or quarantine their cannabis flower, shake or pre-rolled joints.

The Denver Department of Public Health and Environment conducted 25 tests over a two-day period in September, according to alt-weekly newspaper Westword, which analyzed the results.
The failure rate amounted to 80% of the dispensaries that underwent testing.

Denver has hundreds of cannabis retailers. And the random inspections were part of a research project, announced in August, aimed at learning more about the shelf life and packaging of marijuana and did not target specific stores.

Most dispensaries that failed microbial testing got their product from wholesale providers, which were not identified in the reports.

It isn’t clear whether a voluntary recall of marijuana plant-material products issued by Denver-based Bonsai Cultivation is tied to the random inspections.

The Department of Public Health and Environment declined to provide the reports to Marijuana Business Daily because the study was confidential, said Tammy Vigil, manager of media relations.

“We believe the Westword reporter may have invested significant time searching our online database to draw the conclusions he did,” Vigil wrote in an email to MJBizDaily.

Holy shit! They really need to work on that! In my experience commercial growers use all sorts of seriously noxious chemicals to get rid of molds and pests. (In my medical grows I just mix natural neem oil with water and dish soap and spray, completely harmless and done before blooms form). And they still can't keep the mold down? I think a lot of these folks are not doing well on the curing drying and storage side. (shakes head). It's kind of amazing that this far along there is still so much shitty weed.

Azadirachin (Neem oil pesticide ) is a major cause of CHS symptom in many people... neem oil is no good to mix with cannabis... check this thread - https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=339380
