Do you manually restrict the carb on the '18M?
I do mouth-pulls (if that's what you mean by mouth to lung) but it doesn't feel as enjoyable to me with the carb open. The hack feels even better to me for mouth-pulls... I guess I'm still used to the smoking experience...
Yes, I cover the airport, then roll it to open the carb for fresh air near the end of the pull.

DO NOT do this with a bare wood stem
:tup: All of my “at home” stems are all wood Vongs.. they clean up realllll nice.. cocobolo Ed’s and Dynavap sent me a body instead of a stem due to some miscommunication, and I’ve been using that condenserless ever since. Of course the wood will soak some resin, but I rarely need to use a cleaner other than a scrape after warming them up some. Maybe I’m a weird kid from the sticks but that’s okay.

Good to know you are ready to go when I am, your work is quite beautiful. I’ll be in touch soon

I’m holding onto hope that on the actual day, 4/20, it’s gonna show up. It was the only product on the table with George in the 420 sale teaser video. Of course it’s possible I’m naive...
do you have any link to see what the heater look like, i cannot find anything on it.

Anyways i still not know what too choose but more i read about dynavap more it look like a really nice item full with a smart conception, i wonder which one would be the most intersesting to vape for hashich ? i see that u can control temperature by where you aim your flame on so maybe a Xl would be interesting for me that i need to vape more at 200C +

Cocobolo is nearly saturated with oils and extremely dense, so it will be quite slow to absorb in. Eventually it will start to stink and smell though, adversely effecting the flavour. Less dense woods or less oily woods would not fair as well, for example Maple and Walnut are not good woods to be getting condensates on.

Yeah, they do take on their own odor.. I haven’t found taste to suffer in the long run with any of my wooden pieces except the LB cuz it was hard to get under the trench, but taste has always been good still for me as long as I kept up. Maple reallllly sucks in some scent.

My dugouts always soaked up lots of scent too, wondering how the dynastash will play out

did you experience with hashich/concentrate with both and if yes do you think there are adapted for this use?
I use my VapCaps with Hash and Concentrates. The Vapcap will handle them with ease. You would think that they were made for eachother.

I vape both hard and soft hash. With soft pliable Afghani hash I pinch off a bit and flatten it into a thin pancake. Just pop it in the chamber and heat the cap slightly last the click. Hard Moroccan hash is sliced paper thin with a razor.

Now for empty concentrates like wax and shatter or rosin, they vape beautifully with a modified concentrate pad shoved into the chamber. Pat a bit on top, put on the cap and heat.

Here is my approach to using a concentrate pad.

@Lady V The longer I have my Vapcaps, the more I am convinced that a variety of Vapcaps are essential. Absolutely essential. They all work the same with slightly different personalities.

The answer to your question is not about if you should get an XL or not, it is about deciding on your most favorite Vapcaps in any given area. Favorite Ti Woody Ss. Favorite Woodys and XLSs. Best Omni combos. Creative M mods. The most hypnotic @phattpiggie Twists and dramatically beautiful creations. The best @stardustsailor Bark and Hammer, or maybe some tool box love. Artistic storage and stunning @Winegums VonGs for your water.

You wanna know if you should get and Vapcap XL? Hell yes! Absolutely, without a doubt. Yes. I love having the different lengths and shapes to choose from. They are all great, not better or best, just a bit different.

Alright, I've read quite a few of your posts and they have played a big role in my decision making over how to use vapcaps. Hell the moment I read the degummed fibre filter post I was sold on buying one.

I think there should be a dedicated @Squiby thread where everyone here says what they love about her and why!

The XL it is then! Thank you! As I 've said before, you 're magic!

I just got my OmniVap XL Titanium and it's great but after about 15 or so sessions it has developed a slightly burnt/bitter taste as I take a draw. I checked to make sure I didn't combust after each session and confirmed. I respect the click and all that so I'm not sure what else it might be.

And secondly when I want to soak the individual parts of my Omnivap in iso, are there any that I need to be careful with and not submerge? I might've seen somewhere that the parts with the o rings cannot be submerged but I couldn't see any o rings on any of the parts.

Anyway thanks for all the info guys, greatly appreciated.

Here's my version of an induction heating station based on @Pipes info in the DIY thread. Functional for 2 dynavaps. Aluminum star in the center is a heatsink that you rest your dynavap in to heat. First button latches and enables/disables. Second button is momentary to apply heat. Really takes the dynavap to a whole new level.

Well, if you are registered, they magically appear in your email. Otherwise, you may want to keep your eyes peeled.

Also, if the flash sales are redshifting by you, you can hitch on to the 420 sale, should be a hummer.

How the hell do you register for the emails? I haven't been getting them, so I logged into my Dynavap account/profile on their website and looked through the settings, and am not finding it?!?!

^ Me neither, since about a half year.
Tried again this week.
The notices aren't in the spam folder either.

I did get a thank-you email back but that's it so far.

You might just need to clean the condenser. I noticed a harshness when it gets gummed up.

If you have ever set up an account with them in the past you should be getting them. Have you checked your spam filters? If you have received order or shipping acks from them in the past you should be golden.

George has recently confirmed that his orings are quite resistant to ISO. There are orings (now gray) on the Omni condenser (on the mp part and the moving part) and on the tip where it joins the stem.

The heat has been a little harsh lately. I think I NEED a J hook. I know this topic has been covered but I wanted to know which J hook is your favorite and where can I order one....on sale preferably. :brow:

I'm interested in a couple different sized J-Hooks as well. I'm leaning towards getting some from HERE

Well, I must say, I am very dissatisfied with the VapCap I received today.

The cap is so loose it just falls right off. I did read in this thread about squeezing the cap slightly to tighten the fit but this cap is so far out of spec that if I squeezed it enough to hold it on, it would be so egg-shaped that it would be ruined.

If Dynavap offers to send a free cap that is in better spec, I'll try that but otherwise, I'll be returning this for a refund.

Sure took the wind out of my DynaVap sail.

In my experience, they are always lose at first. After a number of heat cycles, they tend to snug themselves up...as if it was intendede that way to fit the cap to your unique tip...but that's just a guess/conjecture.

So I just got an email response from Joe that XL DSs won't be available for a month or so. Guess I can stop haunting the website...

I wonder if that means that if I use the "Buy a Nonavong XLS, Get a free mystery Dynastash" sale, that I may have to wait a couple of months for my Dynastash? That sucks, but I can live with it.

Ummmmm, yeah. You just need to clean your shit. LoL

I always remove the o-rings before I soak, but I rarely soak. Most cleans just involve a wet q-tip and Iso

Ordered an omni titanium. Looked at the XL, but FAQ's says extra centimeter or so doesn't help cooling; extra length has no function and is just for preference it says. I wanted a storage box with the magnet too, so regular length it was, as only boxes available right now don't fit XL.

Almost got the M, as the $80 starter kit looks like a good deal. But it seems the Omni has a couple extra features and I think less O-rings, to replace...

Thanks for all the posts! They really helped decipher this gizmo quickly, and made the shopping more fun :)

I never liked metal bowls for combusting, way too hot and seemed harsher, but I think for vaping it might be different. Also figure I gotta have one non battery vape!

Really like supporting metal workers and like the mechanical nature of the device. Good to see silicon valley, app driven, battery powered anything have some competition too! :)

I use my concentrate tip for quite some time before I find it needs to be cleaned and repacked with mesh. I find that all I need to do is go in from the O-ring side with a q-tip and it's good to go for a while. When the taste is starting to go I will usually clean the whole thing out.

If someone isn't getting DV emails just send an email to info@dynavap. I too wasn't getting them along with a few other members for a while, but they just started showing up again.

@Lady V, I couldn't possibly know what you will wind up liking & everyone has given good input, so here's a variation. I have no preference here, just thought I'd throw out that you have options.

As you have the 17M, you can get a vong stem & switch out the M condenser with the vong stem & then use that in a bubbler via a 14mm joint. Then, if you purchase the omni XL condenser assembly (just the condenser & mp, no stem or tip & cap), then you can an use your M stem & tip/cap on the omni assembly.

After 20% discount:
Vong stem - $28
Omni XL assembly - $72

For another $48 you can get either:

1) the '18M with will give you another ss stem style, a different tip variation & a cap
or
2) a ti tip & cap.

With these configuration, it will give you a handle on what DV legos you will like for future purchases.

I'm sure you'll be happy no matter what you order.

Just wanted to add, I ordered the '18 M from Vaposhop and the cap was actually very tight in the beginning. Now, after a few bowls it became looser and is relatively easy to remove (but still too tight for the magnet, could be a weak magnet though ). Might have been a different batch or something...
Definitely agree with the others on waiting and heating it a few times

On a different note: do you guys recommend filing the SS tip on the '18 M for more airflow like the 17 version? Or is there too little difference?

I don't really need anything for now, but I'll buy the 2018 M, and yay I'll get 2 free lighters.
I like supporting dynavap plus I miss the M since I gave my 2017 model to a friend, who totally wrecked it btw hehe.
I wish DV would sell concentrate pads that fit the vapcaps.
BTW doe's anyone know what the M stands for? I feel like I knew this but forgot.

I got it on Fasttech.com. I think it was like 2 dollars usd. ill try to find a link to it. The above link is just to the driptips. FYI some don't work, but most of mine I have found on the site work for me.
PM me for the link incase I forget

Could you please tell me which specific size drip tip would work? I would like to get both the longer & shorter glass pieces as shown in your picture. Thanks much.
