Any serious beer drinkers in forum?

I've really been into the NE Double IPA lately. Sometimes known as hazy or juicy ipa.
Sloop's Juice Bomb, Softly Spoken Magic Spells from SingleCut really cemented my love of the variety. I'm enjoying Particle City with some fried perogies after a long day of college. I'm too old for this shit.

I had a beer at a local brewery that was so hazy it looked like an orange julius. I saw @ArthurJ posted an unfiltered ipa from stone, and it made my mouth water. lol They are sooooo expensive though. Most of the time I have to go to a trendy fucking bar in order to get this variety, because it's not main stream yet. I paid 16 dollars for 4 of these mothers. I pay 8 bucks for 12 oz of the stuff in a bar. It's becoming more costly than cannabis! lol

I don't brew beer myself, I don't drink any special beers, but I do drink beer alot.

I drink alot of Heineken and Hertog Jan, which are my favourites. They're both Dutch. I haven't really tried any special or unique kinds of beer.

I always vape when I drink. Its amazing, especially when combined with my Extreme Q. I don't smoke joints with drinking though, in my experience it puts me into a anti-social mood where I just want to sleep. Vaping, somehow, doesn't do this for me. It makes me feel even better instead.

I always drink saturday night after work, sometimes friday aswell. If I don't have college, I sometimes drink during the week aswell. Average amount of beers on 1 night is probably around 6 beers.

Beer is pretty expensive at most pubs here, vaping makes it cheaper as one small round of vape already halves the amount of beer I need to get on the perfect level :p

It's a shame, my friend! Living in a beer paradise with such a diversity of awesome netherland and belgian beers all around and you're only drinking the worst stuff? Drink less but better ones! ;-)
You got any suggestions? I would like to try but have no idea which one I should start with :p

Only one I know is La Chouffe with the gnome, my brother used to drink that.

There are so much I can't count them.

Here you get a pretty good overview and first recommandations. Ratebeer is not so bad. Do the same search for the Netherlands.

You have to find the beer styles you like. It's some - hard -way of learning but worth the efforts. At least you get all NL/BEL beers for pretty cheap in the NL.

Try the most common styles of the NL/BEL aside the Lagers

- Blonde Ale
- Dubble
- Triple
- Quadrupel
- Wit
- Saison
- Belgian Ale
- Belgian Strong Ale
- Brown Ale
- Lambic
- Geuze

There are a lot of strong beers up to 10% ABV. Don't taste strong beers before a lighter one. And don't taste a blond before a dark one at the same ABV if you want to taste them in an row.

Proost!

Thanks, I will try them!

Now that you mention those, I've had a triple and a wit before. The triple was nice, but I rather have a plain beer than a wit.

It's just a wheat beer similar to a German Weizen. Some like it some not. Try it with steamed mossels or in a hot summer night again.
But don't hesitate to try others of a style if you don't like the first you've tried. They are all different like beers of any other style. But for sure you will find beer styles you don't like very much. Anyway try them some months later again. You have to become familar with some tastes until you really like them - or not.

Do you guys drink seasonally or do you simply drink whatever your taste buds desire regardless if the beer is in season or not. I'm looking for a heavier spring beer to serve up over Easter any ideas?

@Helios I would recommend a nice fruited ipa. I did a collaboration with a couple of the local breweries and we made an apricot ipa at 6.75% that will be tapped on Wednesday. There is a lot of great ipas out there but freshness is key! I honestly try to stay no older than 30 days, which might seem a bit crazy but you can really taste the hops when it's fresh! Check out the local breweries and fill a growler or two!

I have been drinking soo many amazing beers this past year and haven't had time to upload pictures unfortunately. But if anyone is on Instagram I keep post a lot there bc it's so much faster. Definitely follower me if your interested! Ig is the best for keeping up your local and the national beer scene! My ig name is

Pick up a Lagunitas Censored. It's called "Censored" because TTB (Feds) wouldn't approve the original label of "Chronic." They overstamped the labels with "CENSORED." Now, check the PLU number (under barcode). Note that it ends in 420. . .that my fellow noncombusters is attention to detail.

Check out the story behind their "Undercover Shutdown Ale."

Sorry, but why was the label "Chronic" sensored?

The federal label-approving agency for beer said no. Prior to 2003, that agency was Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF). The agency that now performs this function is called the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). Last I heard, there was only one dude assigned and he has been performing the job for many years.

I don't believe so. It's also a canna variety I know. But that wouldn't make any iuridical sense.

Enjoy both Superfuzz and Space Dust from Elysian. The Space Dust is 8% so its no session IPA. Locally we have a strange combo called Holy Crap from Mispillion Brewery. It's the strangest pairing of 2 types of beer, its 9% and it tastes damn good.
