Sticky Brick Junior by Sticky Brick Labs

I have 2 potholes in my carb pathway. When I get impatient with my brick, I start thinking the potholes are altering the aerodynamics of the pathway.:ninja: At that point I realize I am probably already medicated.:haw:

@Megaton The 2nd ridge down, where the screen rests on. Is that one also similar and uneven? That could affect performance.
If it's just the top ridge: well, the metal cylinder also rests on that. Does it shift around easily there? Even with the magnets, that could affect the seal; which would affect performance. That would probably bother me enough to send back, aesthetics aside. Is that walnut?

@Evilevile i havn't checked under the screen to be honest, didnt want to mess with it just yet!

The seal seems to be good, but i dont have any thing to compare it to.

Im mostly worried about herbs going in the rough bits and not into the bowl where they belong.

And yes! Walnut.

@Megaton I think I was looking into it too much. I can be obsessive. Sorry if I worried you! Your brick is probably fine. Walnut is beautiful, isn't it?

I have been buying and trying different torches lately, and now I have a big burn spot on my sbj :ugh:

How soon does one have to put butter on their sbj?

Fixed that for you:

and: No - That is not normal and mine is not that rough... And I have two of them.

I also have two of them. A cherry and a walnut. The cherry has nice smooth edges, no chips etc. The walnut...looks almost exactly like the pic above. Still works fine, but not exactly pretty or easy to clean.

A quick update on my SBJ.

I spoke to the lovely people at @StickyBricks, and they have said that it is an unacceptable flaw which somehow managed to slip through their quality control, and they have asked me to return it to them, but to keep the glass etc from the package as spares, and they will be sending me a full unit back.

Overall i am happy with their excellent customer service and the solution that they have offered.

It does however mean i may have a couple more weeks to wait before i get hit by the legendary sticky brick train, but its just the way it goes sometimes.

@Evilevile @sirwalter aye the wood choice was tough, but it had to be walnut in the end, matches one of my basses!

Makes me think I should contact them- I was pretty surprised when I received my walnut sbj and just kind of shrugged it off and figured some are rougher than others.

If you are into water filtration- I highly recommend the wpa attachment for the sbj. Honestly I rarely ever use it dry, its so great with the wpa. I also find it much more forgiving when it comes to combustion with the wpa. No idea why.

I've had this piece close to a month... I'm in love ❤

I named her Betty! It's the special edition walnut edition, with two maple stripes. She's beautiful!

I had a lily, and sold it. I enjoyed it, but it was nowhere NEAR the Daisy. The vapor hurt my throat!

I purchased this on a whim, didn't even look at this thread first! Luckily, Betty has officially become my favorite vape...HUGE CLOUDS, delicious vapor! One bowl lasts 5 draws, or so. It lasts. And the built in stir stick is awesome. Love the look and feel. Definitely portable.

I'm neglecting all my other vapes! Lol

A little about me: I prefer butane powered vapes. I own: Daisy, The Lotus, Stick Brick Jr. S.E., Volcano, Vapman, The Hammer Pro, Evoke by Loto Labs

Second sesh on the SBJR tonight.

Getting heat but not lots of vapor, or at least very little, still getting high though, evidentely getting something out of it, but not got the technique worked out yet.

How big is your flame?
Are you closing the carb hole below the heat intake as your lighting, releasing here and there?

@SloJimFizz i started off with the smallest flame my honest torch could reliably make, but it was choking out, so i increased the flame size, which helped. I also have the carb closed till the end of the hit.

I managed to get one solid hit last night, which was great, unfortunately i was unable to replicate it. id say 60% of the pulls i attempeted got nothing at all, and the rest only wispy vapor.

Its weird that im getting heat but no vapor though. I must not be aiming my flame right i guess.

@Megaton IME, The Jr. is a tough one to combust with, so I'd say raise the flame to about 3/4 inch of dark blue, angle the light blue around and into the intake hole and pull. Having a relatively full bowl helps too, half bowl or micro dose levels you can work on later when your technique improves.

@SloJimFizz you're good, i got you, I was trying to be funny too!

Flame size was def my issue, i made it bigger ;) and got a few big rips, but its still pretty inconsistant, getting big rips one moment, and just hot air the next. I can tell from the good rips that its worth sticking with, but its going to take more practice.

One of the things that took me a while to realize is that if you're using the same pack two nights in a row then you're going to have to apply more heat than you did the first night. Your technique is probably fine for fresh green but once it gets ABV-y you've gotta give it more heat to release a different set of terpines, THC, and CBD. Once I understood this a bit better I got continually strong hits. Just listen to what your tongue and mouth are telling you about the vapor and apply more heat, closer flame, faster draws, or all 3 until you get a real feel for how an almost (but not quite) cached bowl hits.

With the right technique you should be able to get a hit in a few seconds regardless of if it's fresh or almost cached.

Happy Bricking!

Any dime bag users here?

I was wondering if my sticky junior would fit in the 7" or 8"? Or would I need the 10"?
https://dimebags.com/product/8-inch-padded-pouch/ these are ones.

Cheers

If this image has the 8" in it, yeah, you're golden.

@yourtokingbuddy thanks for the insight! I was thinking that i was def getting hits easier when its fresh, and it seems to get to a point where i can't get any more vapor out of the bowl even though i can see its not cached.

So i suppose i need to apply more heat to the situation. I just dont (yet) get how people are clearing bowls with the smallest flames!
