Good Morning

Tracking info sent. Hopefully domestic orders will arrive tomorrow or the next day. Thanks for understanding about any delays in shipping. Gonna take a deep breath, but tomorrow I head to the lumber yard to do it all over again. I am looking forward to the reviews on this batch.

So while batch 4 is full, batch 5 still has a few spots left.

Ohhh, this is a tough one!

Thursday expected delivery with plans to see the Bucks play the Nets with friends..... Not so sure I wouldn't rather stay home and get acquainted

Thanks again for the idea of Lil' Bud, the courage to pursue it, the knowledge to build it and the humble stance on your partnership. Sharing all this with the masses is very appreciated by the masses! Really looking forward to trying it:clap:

:tup: looks like I'll get mine on Friday!!!))))))))) Thanks again Mike!!!!
I'm disappointed that it's not Thursday. Shipped Monday, should be Wednesday or Thursday. Either way though, it'll be worth the wait.

@P.A.M. another winner!

Today it's time to reorganize, clean house a bit, check inventory on parts, and then a trip to the lumber yard to buy some Walnut and Cherry. Before I actually get started, there are a few processes that I want to improve upon, but this batch should be pretty smooth sailing.

The work of the last two weeks has hit me today. I am completely exhausted, but enjoying my LB to the limit, as I sit here and play scrabble on my computer with my feet up. Nice change. I did go to the lumber yard and got two nice pieces of walnut and cherry, and I am ready to make the first cut on batch 4.

@Bravesst Good for you.

I'm not a religious person, but I've always found that keeping some sort of 'Sabbath' smart. Especially for those of us who love our jobs. I've burned out a couple of times in my career as a musician, and it sucks. It's good to have time a way-it refreshes us and absence does make the heart grow fonder.

And the answers to shoring up some of those processes you're working on may well come when you're playing Scrabble.

Just broke down and put a down payment for a Lil Bud in (hopefully) batch 5.
I absolutely do not need it, but well.... VAS strikes again!

Enjoy a day or two off @Bravesst - you deserve it. Then get back to work! :ko:
You're in luck. I have already sized to width and thickness two beautifully grained cherry and walnut pieces. I am super psyched about batch 4 - the first combo batch.

We will be offering Cherry / cherry and Cherry / walnut, as well as Walnut / walnut and Walnut / cherry. Stem choices are still - you guessed it - cherry and walnut.

The stock I picked up today was a chance. The cherry was 5/4, meaning an inch and a quarter thick. That sounds like plenty, but after squaring everything up, it only gets smaller. After milling, it wound up about a mm too thick, or just about perfect. Nice to have breathing room...

The grain on the walnut was very tough to cut, it'll be tough to work with, but the units will look amazing. The cherry is also super unique, with lots of grain patterns you don't usually see.

And @P.A.M. is the video man!

Lol yeah , a lean-to type shed for campfire wood. Filmed with a phone camera that I sit on the shed's wall frame crosser . Thanks for the tripod idea, will use one for indoors or other outdoor settings.

Wife hasn't really seen Lil' Bud so far, only glimpse of it  . I don't hide, just respect her and the household, keeps her off my case :) Indoors vaping is possible but very limited living in a small family house... my upcoming , vape lung video , will probably be done when visiting family HQ where I can typically vape inside without bothering anyone :)

Cool, I'm excited and can't wait for you to get yours too! You are welcome, thank you for the kind words! Nice to know some people watch and enjoy! I have fun doing them and try to keep it more "informative/educational" then a "review". Hopefully helps new comers to vaping or to Lil' Bud , if helpful to more experienced people too then great!

I had done the same when receiving my HI log last year not being able to find many HI videos prior purchase. think I'll do an update vid' with it or one using my HI & vapcap M for the stem.

I think I found my vape that checks all boxes.

That's how this vape was conceived. It was designed to make you happy by checking off your individual boxes.

TOP TEN CHECKBOXES
  1. Do you want really quick vapor?
  2. Do you demand a pure air path without adhesives?
  3. Is durability and reliability important to you?
  4. Is pure convection and taste a high priority?
  5. Do you love the beauty of handcrafted hardwood?
  6. Are you tired of changing batteries every couple of loads?
  7. How does almost zero maintenance sound?
  8. Do you need a hard hitting vape that will get the job done?
  9. Do you want this all in a light weight, hand held, portable?
  10. Do you expect to spend under $200 for this?

Batch 4 - Day One

Yup, a multi-species batch it is. As of right now, it's half Walnut, half Cherry. What would have taken a couple of days a month or two ago, took 6 hours. I completed 16 mortises for the battery compartment, that's layout, routed and pared clean by hand. Not sure how many of these will make batch 4, but the leftovers will be in batch 5. I'm going to try and complete as many units as I can before my trip to Denver on the 18th, when the shop will shut for about a week.

My Lil' Bud
As much as I love walnut, I'm drawn to Cherry. I think I like the way it feels, and that is where my current LB / DD really pleases. Taken down to 600 grit sand paper, with a hot beeswax finish, inside and out feels so cool. The slightly thicker back plate has allowed a bit more rounded edges, but it's the smoothed, planed, sanded wood itself that feels so soft for something so hard. I also love that Cherry darkens, and very quickly.

Sessions are remarkably smooth. I realize that if I'm going to be able to enjoy vaping, it HAS TO BE SMOOTH. Coughing or harshness is not an option. Smooth, with taste, is just an added bonus.

Here he is...

Ok, played hooky this afternoon so I could swing home and pick up my Lil' Bud before the game tonight.

First impressions only, this is from two stems......

Very light
Powerful heater, but easily controlled
Love all the details and craftsmanship, wish there was a storage place for the safety tab

I got a hit from the first try, just need to dial it in. I got a hit whether I sucked hard, easy or sipped it. She's a keeper.

Pictures, videos and a review in a week or so. This will be my only driver while we get acquainted, then I'll give up the goods!
