Looking for a portable / travel vape for rosin

Hope it helps, I think you are going to just have to experiment with some of it and see how it works for you since I have a hard time figuring exactly what youre having trouble with.

Right now, I am trying to use a Pied Piper Q Bowl with rosin (concentrate).

All it does is heat it up into a bubbling liquid. It does vapor a tiny bit but nothing to call a real hit. I think I need less heat for a longer time. After 10 seconds the safety shuts this off. I know I can change that but I don't know if that's a safe thing to do.

That manual is the same that came with it. It does tell how to change the settings. I'm playing and trying to get used to it. The video shows e-juice. Mine seems to work great with the carts and e-juice I made. In fact, so well, I am wondering if I am in danger of over-doing something. It's really too much for the average cart (or so it seems).

I am trying to eliminate PG, etc from my life and go with straight rosin.

It measures your atomizers resistance to calculate temperature when you are in TC mode, such as Ni, SS, or Ti. When you are in wattage mode you won't have the ability to choose a temperature, but it will still show your resistance. Try clicking fire 3 times, then using the buttons on the bottom to scroll toVW mode, and use the fire button to select that. Once there, you can just use the buttons on the bottom to dial in a wattage that gives you performance you like with that atomizer.

In TC mode I have SS, Ti and Ni. (I assume Stainless Steel, Titanium and Nickel?) I use a quartz bowl. Would one setting be better than another?

I can't get this damn thing to do anything. LOL I guess I'm just not meant to vape, Maybe I should just stick to smoking joints. Been doing it for 50 years and it has worked so far. LOL

It seems like just at the time when the rosin is ready and starts to vape the battery turns off and... nothing but a little vape in the mouthpiece.

I run it over and over back to back and I can get a hit but by the time I get the hit, the rosin is so burned up that it tastes like shit. All I ever have is a boiling puddle of rosin.

My G9 vape is awesome. I can get as big a hit as I want and it tastes just like the bud. Even better.

Maybe it's this Qbowl thing. I am guessing I am just too stupid to vape.

Maybe I'll try another attachment.

What's the absolute best attachment for vaping rosin? I'll try that and if I still can't do it, I'll close my account here and go back to combustion.

Maybe some people are just not meant to vape.

I wouldnt be so quick to call yourself stupid, theres something thats causing the problem and it very well could be the attachment that youre using like you suspect. Try another attachment I have heard lots of good things about w9 stuff and I think it should be able to fit on to your box mod

I was hoping to find something without coils. Maybe that's part of my problem.

I got focused on having a coilless, quartz bowl but, maybe I have to go with something with coils.

My G9 is coilless but it takes about 20 seconds to heat up and then runs for about 20 more seconds while you hit it.

This mod box always turns off after 10 seconds.

I tried some of my old coil based stuff and none of them fit. I thought 510 was 510. I guess not. These were different and would not screw on. I'm talking the old 'globe' things that were out a few years ago.

almost all of these things have a 10-15 second limit on them, it's a hard limit, you will have to let off the trigger and hit the button again to keep the hit going, only takes .25 second. Is that why you think your battery is dying after 10 secs?

Personally I have a few Joyetech Vtwin Mini mods (single 18650 battery) with some Divine Tribe v3's (10 + 13mm ceramic donut sizes), and a couple of 2ml tank units made by my friend @Vape Donkey 650 with some 7mm donuts also from Divine Tribe).
I'm waiting for the 2nd shipment of Divine Tribe QQ replacement parts (I was an early adopter), and I'm looking forward to firing those up and giving them a go.
Quartz bowl/Glass Mouthpiece, ceramic 'tube' heaters.
I use my V3 for live resin all the time, should work great on the QQ... but the V3 is the current long term stud in the DT stable, the QQ looks to be the next one. You can't go wrong with a 10mm V3.

I have very little experience using wax pens/box mod vaporizers but have been reading about them a bit lately as I have been becoming interested in them, and am definitely going to be getting some of my own in time.

You might also consider using flower more, which I assume is most of what you were combusting, instead of just focusing on concentrates.

I’ve been looking for good concentrate vaporizers for the best portability, and I’ll definitely take a closer look at the Divine Tribe stuff, but I think most of us have found more consistent, reliable, good results from more of the dry herb vaporizers.

Here are just a few with pretty consistently good reviews to look at, and a lot of them can also handle concentrates if needed:

Desktop: NewVape Flower Pot, Vapexhale EVO, Herborizer, Glass Symphony, some “log” vapes

Portable: Tubo, Milaana, Splinter, VapCaps (torch or induction heated), Mighty/Crafty, DaVinci IQ, Ghost MV1 (the last have some more detractors but are largely seen as good overall)

Semi-Portable torch heated: Elev8r, the Sticky Brick lineup, plus others I can’t think of in every category...

Oh, and the Nomad should be a really nice unregulated portable (and a piece of art), but the wait time is pretty long right now. It’s on the top of my list to get though!

If concentrate pens don’t work for you, any of these is a far better option than going back to combustion, and most of them are simple to use!

It looks like you've made your decision but no one recommended the new Haze square. It is a solid company with a 10 year warranty, not too expensive, and works with everything- flowers, concentrates etc- at the same time.

If it's at all possible for you to vape Rosin with electronics these are the forums that will get you fixed up.

I finally decided that I did not actually enjoy the learning curves and tweaking of electronics any more. (old, TBI, crazy, etc). I'm purely a VapCap user now a days.

While I miss the mad scientist activities of making extracts I do not miss the electronic vapes at all.

@VaporWare Awesome list. I will check into every one of them. Some I recognize from threads I have read here like the Mighty and Crafty. Wow, these things bring top dollar. I have a couple herb vapes now that mostly gather dust. I get them out now and then just to use them. I just filled a bag yesterday with my Arizer Q (I think that's what it's called). Gives a decent hit but I am usually alone and the Q is anything but a one-hitter. LOL I can do a bag or 2 but then I get bored.

I also have an Arizer Solo. Wow, this is an awesome vape. I can't imagine any "portable" vape being a whole lot better. Again, a decent hit.

I also have some others like a Seego something and a number of off-brands. All in a drawer.

I chain smoke joints. 10 to 20 a day. Trying to cut back a little on the smoke thing. I have been vaping rosin but it sure feels more like smoke than vape (using a G9 HeNail).

I definitely need something that give a 'robust' hit. LOL

@little maggie My mind is definitely still open. I just did a quick search and it looks pretty neat. I'll check it out in detail. I am definitely still open. I even abandoned my original requirements for quartz and coil less. I'm looking at ALL options right now.

@Krazy Yeah, That's why I'm here. I am hoping I can learn what I need before everyone gets so frustrated with me and kills me or sends me home alone and crying. LOL It's hard to teach stupid people. I know. In another life on another world I was smart and I taught a ton of people about what I knew. It was very frustrating, sometimes. The one thing I learned in all those years of teaching was........ the best way to learn is to teach.

This might sound hard to believe, but it's possible you just don't really like THC. When you vaporize cannabis you get a huge THC hit, which is a much different high from smoking joints where most of the THC is burnt off into the air. I know many smokers who find the vaporizer high lacking. The truth is this is kinda what you get when you remove the noxious byproducts.

The Divine Tribe V3 is a great atomizer for rosin, but I would not recommend it to you at all as it will still require configuring that box mod. Maybe you could have the person who helped you make this account set it up? The V3 settings are more well known so easier to set up, although honestly for someone like you I would suggest just getting a real plugin e-nail.

If you haven't decided yet I'd recommend the tubo. It is powerful and very simple to use. It's basically a covered box mod with all the firmware preset so you only need to make adjustments if you want to. Otherwise it works fine as soon as charged. It does have a coil. And I think others use it with different products but I'm not 100% sure since I only use flowers. Right now it and the splinter are my main vapes. Both battery operated. It is an "on demand" vape but you can set something called cruise control for however many seconds you want and it will keep running. I think it's best to limit cruise control for under 60 second though. (and even if you're not going to get one I found the manual's explaining the mod box settings helpful in working with the mod box I got for my splinter)

OMG!! I am so overwhelmed with all your wonderful suggestions, folks. I want them all.

The Flower pot with the shower head (if I read correctly) does rosin and dry herb in a single hit? Is that right. I would have to have one of those.

The Haze Square looks like another 'must have'.

So many wonderful choices.

The VapCap is one that amazes me. I think having to use a torch is totally out of the question for me but everyone... and I mean EVERYONE seems to love them. I am going to look into the induction heater thing and maybe make that my next purchase.

Well, I am the customer from hell. Nothing makes me happy. Everything is broken when I get it. Nothing arrives fast enough and it all costs too much.

Well, not the DT V3 and Matt. Wow, this almost never happens to me.... everything is simply perfect. And, I mean perfect. No... better than perfect because it actually arrived a day BEFORE it was scheduled to.

Matt's customer service and replies to questions are immediate and resolute.

The product is totally amazing. Right out of the box and onto my mox (is that short for mod box?). And, you all know that I don't know shit about what I'm doing. Total fucking vape moron.
