Ed's WoodScents Log Vape - Ed's TnT

Damn it. I'm stuck at work for a couple more hours, and my "new-to-me" Woodscents is sitting in my mailbox all by it's lonesome.

It's so close, yet so far. And 4:20 has already passed.

Life can be so cruel sometimes :-(

Love me my bog oak! Hope you enjoy yours when you get it tonight !!

Just unwrapped it, and I don't see a scratch on it. It's beautiful.

Now, I just need to figure out my spot on this dial and where I should line the number up with. The seller gave me everything from the original kit except the high-temp o-rings to use with the glass (I already ordered a spare tip and extra o-rings from ed because the seller had told me they would be missing)

Only issue that I've found is that, though the titanium tip fits perfectly in the longer aroma stem, it is extremely lose in the shorter 14/18mm wood stem, to the extent that it almost falls out just turning it upside down and the Woodscents sits at a hard angle. Here's an image, the ti tip itself just leans over that far all the way around with the weight of the Woodscents on it:

I suspect it will still work, just holding it straight up, but I worry that the tip will come3 off with the log and end up in my shorts, lol. Oh well, the longer stem fits fine, and I'm sure that I can probably purchase a replacement from Ed at a later date if I felt the need, even if it's a different wood.

Also, maybe the o-rings on the titanium tip are just a bit too worn out. There's a spare set of o-rings for the titanium tip in the kit that look like they've never been used. Maybe I'll try swapping them out later to see if that gives me a more snug fit, as the wood inside the tip end of that short wood stem does not look damaged inside or out.

Otherwise, everything else looks to me to be in nearly mint condition. I only paid $235, including shipping, for it. So whether or not there turns out to be an issue with this one piece, I'm still happy.

LoL. I think I just saw the very Woodscents that I bought used, when it was fresh and new on Ed's instagram. I'm talking about the image here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BbKfa5fnujl/?taken-by=eds_tnt_

Yuppers, I now am comfident that this is the same one that I purchased. Here's a terrible attempt to take a similar picture, with terrible dim yellow lighting and a 4 year old phone camera, for comparison:

Okay....now to go figure this thing out...

Man that’s the best thing about woodscents. You don’t need to figure anything out. It does all the work for you !

I don’t think there’s a way to make it less efficient lol

Such a easy to use consistently great hitting vape

Congrats on the great buy! My larger stem also did what your wpa did. I used a new o ring and it helped snug it up a little more

@Ramahs - over in the Vapcap thread, people have talked about variations in the fit of some parts. One suggestion for loose tips was to take the Orings off and wrap some degummed hemp fiber in the grooves then replace the Orings. Maybe give that a try if new Orings don't do it? That's a beautiful log.

Speaking of efficient, it looks like this one is ready for cleaning again. That's a blackwood Vong stem - the original non-NonaVong Vong from Ed/Dynavap. I have extra condensers and a few other stems I use, so I wait and clean them all at once.

The WoodScents is very good at extracting the goods. I use it through water and a few times, a molten blob of goo has dripped into the water. It forms a Prince Rupert's drop of reclaim that gets stuck against the air slits in the bubbler. Neat.

Thanks. It is pretty.

And yes, I do think I remember reading that in the vapcap thread. I'll probably try that sometime this weekend. Thanks for the tip.

@Ramahs, I suggest dedicating the tip to that vc stem that it fits in. And I recommend purchasing another tip to leave in the wong, for which you can do the fiber hack if need be. And only remove the tips from wood stems when you have to do a thorough cleaning. You may want to consider a ss tip for the wong as I think the longer heat duration till cool down works better through water, but this is just my :2c:. Interested if anyone disagrees with me.

Thanks for the helpful info. However...I'm already on the right path here, as I'd already ordered a spare titanium tip from Ed last weekend because I wanted a second tip for the wong. So I already have a dedicated tiip that I can rig for the short Wong stem on the way.

And I already have an M, so I'll give the SS tip a shot later.

A long overdue shout out to Ed and his other half. We had the best time with y’all in New Orleans and can’t wait until our next adventure! Also wanted to thank you for the sweet birthday gift...as I was the lucky recipient of the WS with the burnished skulls. It is a stunning compliment to our WS buckeye and is cherished.

Thanks for everything Ed! I’ll give you a holler soon just to catch up. Been too long since I’d dropped by here to say hi to everyone

Hello all, wow finally got approval for the shops at my new place, was a big deal and took them a whole lot longer to approve em. Had one of the shops setup and in place friday, omgosh what a relief that one is in place. Not to empty the other and have it moved. Got another big load moved from my place to the new house. So much to do and only having help on the weekend from my sons is slowing me down. They are great help and if not for them I would be a bad way. Spent Saturday morning on the range with them. I am so excited our first big shoot is the 7th. I am eager to see how they all perform. My youngest is spot on, I know he will place. My middle one all depends on if hes having a good day or not for skeet. Same with my oldest for skeet, but for .22 rifle and pistol its on for real. He is putting 30 rounds down range open sights at 50 yards. Most point you can get at rifle is 300. He scored 265 this last practice. Thats solid and can advance to state on that for sure. My wife is getting the house in order and being pregnant is taking a toll on her. I havent been able to get any turning done and it sucks. I am so ready to get back to what I love and do. Not that I havent been doing nothing with wood, I have gotten my hands on a few sure fire winners

And now for a money shot, WoodScents is the only log on the market utilizing Titanium Med grade 2 components in the air path and tip, no other!

As I said there is always something happening here at Ed's TnT!

@Ramahs Ohh just you wait when I get back to turning these 2018 pieces its going to be madness! I am glad you will be getting that piece and am excited to hear what you think of it. Yes you are right they have been round a lot longer making logs than I. All is good though. Yes sir that is the piece, congrats, good score. Great idea at @CanadianBakin give that a go Ramahs and will get that other tip and rings out to you soon. As soon as I get back to it there will be burls thats a must. Great pic too btw.

@cloraform Yeah I feel you but gotta believe that everyone that has one is to busy using it and feeling the effects to hard to post as often. Hopefully when the 18's are going and out and getting in new hands there will be a bit more posts here. Thanks much for the positivity and kind words for what I do! I had a handful of VK's last year that sold out in only a couple days. I dont have any dealings with any of the others so I cant say. I am sorry. @Aezhenn does great work there is no doubt about it. I so appreciate how you laid it out, WS rules, it is what it is and does what its supposed to!

@juxt Well said, thank you sir!

@CarolKing Thanks so much my lady, its going not nearly as quickly as I would like but progress is being made. Yes June is summer I think and wow am excited to have our little boy here. Will let you all know and thanks for stopping by. I hope you are doing well and wish you the best!

@mucsusn My man, I have wanted to do something for a while since I started making the WS. I have a neat idea for its housing and such and a bit back got the components to make it happen just havent found the time to do so. I have been talking and coming up with other ideas that will be very significant when the time comes. So many possibilities and knowing the right people makes all the difference. Sit tight and stay tuned.

@CanadianBakin Glad to see you are still ripping on that old Vong stem I did back. Not sure how long its been maybe a year or two since I did those. Wow times flies and its always cool to see them still be enjoyed, thanks for the kind words and stopping by!

@Summer Good idea there too, yes ma'am he has one on the way!

Omgosh @Reflections how could I forget you, you have been in my corner for so long I could never do that and thank you so much for keeping an eye out and the congrats, means alot thanks for the post and all you do.

@MAbud Thanks for stopping by.

@Aezhenn My man, I have been meaning to email you, forgive me and I hope all is well, with what I just saw on the news I hope thats no where near you or the girls. Take care and keep on doing what you do bro.

@beach bum What a blast we had right, wow what a great time was had with ya and so looking forward to another get together. Gotta make sure we get more crawfish and learn you how to peel those tails better lol. Much love to you and lets do talk soon, I miss ya!

I have a question.

The screen on my log looks like this:
NYUyAMp.jpg

And most of the images I see elsewhere, that screen is right at the top of that tube.

Do I need to do something about that?

Good morning, your unit is fine. I use mine like this to keep the filter disc from being right up against my load. There should be no issue with performance but if for any reason you dont like it get with me and we will go from there. I hope its performing well though and look to hear more about your experience with it.

Cool. Then I shall continue to use it as it is.
I'd removed that screen last night, and realized what a PITA it might be to get it back in at the top of the tube, so I just put it back in as it was.

I should re-iterate. The screen was already at the bottom where it is now. I removed it to try to put it back at the top of the tube only after noticing that in almost every picture I saw of other models, it was always shown at the top.

Man these are some amazingly beautiful Vapes in this thread. I love the two tone @Ramahs you got a winner there.
Ed has made some real beautiful pieces so far. He keeps scoring these amazing blocks just full of character.

Once I get my new bit from @Aezhenn I’m totally going to throw up a photo with my bog oak woodscent. Thing is crazy
