What makes cannabis medical?

...our endocannabinoid system ECS manages every biochemical signal in our bodies from the time we are formed into a physical entity until we are no more...
These cannabinoid (CB1 & 2) receptors are entirely located in our central and peripheral nervous systems, making these signals electrical as well. We have this in common with every mammal on earth

Im going to try and find an explanatory article to why Cannabis reacts like this.
It's our body that's reacting; the ECS is a part of our bodies, and cannabinoids activates its receptors

We definitely need an ECS thread:worms:!

Exactly! the electrical ( voltage gated) G-coupled receptor channel interacts with plasma ( PPAR ) @ the ER ( endoplasmic reticulum.

50% of doctors prescribed medications too act on the G-coupled protein receptors just as the phytocannabinoids act on ( 7 trans-membrane receptor) so cannabis directly adds competition to their Bottom Dollar while only some type of replicated molecular formula can be offered by them..... their hands are tied for offering real cannabis plants to patients with real living organic ( popped from thin air) LIFE force and energies as expected from diverse (growth desire of a living species) plant life.... the PILLS are dead! look there doctor = U offer No life force and complex molecules ( synergistic bio-active plant molecules ranging in the hundreds) to direct that complex life force and make it into a physiological living system such as the endocannabinoid system....
Sure- phytocannabinoids have a low binding affinity but they represent living life too and Humans Grok it ( Get It?)

post not directly to U @grokit just ranting Man.... have a Great day!

To answer the OP’s question, I don’t think there’s any difference at all between Medical and Recreational Cannabis...the Medical is just cheaper. The ‘experts’ at the dispensaries sure don’t know if there’s any difference. I do suppose the different kinds of CBD’s makes a difference in ‘treating’ various medical conditions, but those CBD’s are also found in recreational cannabis.

Seems like the only medical area not discussed as helped by cannabis is anything involving the Respiratory system.

that has been covered too= cannabis is a bronchodilator

year after year I say- what did cannabis do? and I'm confronted with pages of medical info and user info that shows how/ why/ and where cannabis actively has effects

...there is NO difference between medical weed and recreational weed... the only difference is your intent on usage...

...and yes if using cannabis for medical reasons your benefits should pay for your medicine just like ANYOTHER medicine you get... but saying that just adds another loop hole with cannabis... all of a sudden i need weed for medical reasons to buy it cheaper... no difference now with people needing 'medical cannabis' just so they can be 'legal'....

...not intended to be disrespectful against medical users... it's just a fact. people will abuse any systems to benefit themselves (insurance fraud anyone???)...

So where are all these ‘bronchodilator’ articles? Thanks for your input! :)

search term= cannabis as a bronchodilator
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=cannabis+as+a+bronchodilator&t=ffcm&atb=v62-6__&ia=web

Bronchodilator effect of delta1-tetrahydrocannabinol
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1429361/

Dr. Donald Taskin is the leading expert on smoked cannabis and bronchodilator effects... of course cannabis does not have to be smoked to receive effects as long as the thc compound is decarboxylated and activated it will have active effects if you eat it or use an oil ETC....

a company even made an inhaler for thc but thc unfortunately is to big of size to use in the inhaler comfortably without causing throat irritation...

Edit- it looks like another company has one now... maybe they figured out the throat irritation problems

let me know if I can answer more questions for you as we learn more and more of this fabulous plant

This is confusing to me. You start off saying there is NO difference between medical and recreational, that the only difference is your intent on usage (you don't say at time of purchase, time of getting script , but of usage specifically ) yet you go on to say that people become medical users, not for access, but to get it cheaper . If there is no difference but intent at use, why assume people are abusing the system? If there us no difference but intent, and they intend to be medical users, and they go so far a to get a script (which costs money, so where is the big savings there?) which shows they intend to be a medical user, why assume fraud? I know people that have serious health issues, that need MMJ, but skip the card and pay higher recreational taxes either because of the cost of the doctors appointment, embarrassment at talking to a doctor about weed, or simply because they don't know how the system works and it's easier to just go to the club and pay the higher prices (some are nervous about clubs, and rely on friends to give them meds). They intend for the usage to be medicinal. They still pay the higher recreational tax, unless they are friend reliant. They aren't trying to scam anyone.
But you know those pleasure seakers- always looking for a chance to commit fraud.
I will say, I think 30% tax is high. It just is.

The tax for Rec is way too high and they know it. It’s just politicians taking advantage. But for those who want Medical... some of the Dispensaries will pay for your Doc appt if you become a member there (around $125 if they do the paperwork...but now it’s all online). Anyhow, you recoup that money real fast with Med prices, so some are just prolly looking for a handout...all the time?

Definitely helped me with radiation induced nausea. I was queasy and it eased the nausea. We’re talking a few puffs, maybe one big hit. Much better than compazine and the anxiety reducing effects are a great bonus.

I wish I’d used it 20+ years ago during my first experience with cancer. Went through a notoriously rough chemo treatment/ cocktail. Had access to high grade (via my boss at the time - which is totally bizarre given our employer). At that time I stuck with compazine and used a drug called Kytril, I think. I’m pretty sure I used my catheter to administer that drug.

Not sure how we jumped to people looking for a handout, all the time. Meds are expensive. Taxes are high. If help is available for those who need it, great. That's none of my business. I rarely go to dispensaries. I love them, but prefer to grow my own. That way I know how it was grown and cured. It also fits in my budget better, as I prefer to spend my Med money on seeds, clones, glass and vapes. My family doc writes my script, and that works for me.
With cannabis, I'm not scared of getting a migraine. I get far fewer now that I vape, so not sure if MMJ is preventative for migraine for me, but it's a dream for treatment.
