Maybe it has at least 20% better packaging ;) - my used bought Plenty should have his 10th birthday(Serial below 200) this year, besides the cycling while pressed 'bug/feature' no one could ever tell a difference if i would switch the serial sticker with a brand new one
Iirc someone said this new version should run a little hotter but the manual states max temp is still 202.
I wondered about that too, the manual has the correct technical formulation about the temp displayed:
"For technical reasons it is not possible to measure the temperature in the Filling Chamber during the inhalation process. The thermometer measures the temperature of the heat exchanger, and a corresponding calibration displays the respective temperature in the Filling Chamber during inhalation."
somehow people seem to worry a bit too much about max temps measured/displayed somewhere, temperature is always plenty with Plenty for me :ko:

I even finished off a big bowl to my head, won't be doing that again by myself anyways that's a lot of weed for a single session!
The large bowl can be quite nice for one person if it's filled with trim/sugar leaves

I always wanted to know if the reducer changes the effects of the plenty or the taste? Because I always thought that the difference between the plenty and other Vapes was the bigger surface of the chamber. I usually use the concentrate pad to reduce the amount of material used

Another great tip, thanks! I'm just getting my garden back online, can't wait to try it

I can tell the hits with the reducer are less dense, with more air than using the plenty native.

My only complaint about the reducer though, is the same as my only complaint about the plenty: the reducer has a tendency to fall out when dumping the hot capsule. Bing that the reducer is a heat sink itself, it's always a bit tricky trying to align the hot metal and fitting it back in without losing too much heat.

It's a minor quibble though, still loving my plenty

Does your reducer piece not snap securely into the black piece that attaches to the Plenty?
I bought my reducer with the black piece as a unit instead of just the metal reducer piece. When it came, I was glad I would not have to remove the reducer piece when I wanted to switch back to the big bowl. Looks like a pita.
In short, I think the reducer should snap into the black piece and not fall out when dumping the capsule.

@SloJimFizz
I got the reducer separately from that 'cradle' piece, which is orange on my unit (it's the one that came with the stock 'party' bowl, so I have to switch them out on the cradle when changing bowl size). Then noticed I could have bought it with an extra cradle piece, which would've probably worked out better. What I do know is that if it's a bit sticky and I give it a slight tap to get the capsule out, that piece is coming out too. Taking a closer look now that it's cooler, it's just a loose fit (nothing seems broken). It seems to be a friction fit (nothing clicks or locks in), and I think this friction is reduced when the cradle piece heats up.

Yea, the Orange part is what I meant.
Are you placing the reducer piece right on top of the big bowl screen?
The whole metal piece holding the big bowl screen comes out of the Orange piece, then that reducer piece snaps into place where that comes out. Hence, the pita I mentioned. The reducer has its own screen built in.
Perhaps your Orange piece got offsized a tad in changing if you do swap them out.

I had similar problems with switching inserts - a complete new chamber housing for the reducer did the trick (buying the housing and insert seperate is actually a bit cheaper ;) ):
https://www.storz-bickel.com/eu/en/store/py/plenty-filling-chamber-housing.html
- the 'left over' black top part is perfect to use as WPA without the coil...
In general nice to have 2 bottoms and 2 tops - 4 combinations to choose :brow:

I don't get everyone's obsession with micro-dosing using the plenty. to me, the large bowl is great, hardly ever fill it to the top but any load in between works great with the liquid pad. if you want a small dose, just fill to single layer to cover bottom screen. it's approx .2gms....if you need anything lower than .2gms, you bought the wrong vape dude. this shines as a heavy hitter so my advice is to get a volcano. just my humble opinion.

Let me add, once again, my favorite way to microdose with the Plenty. Now, mind you, the Plenty was my third vape, after a Crafty and an E-nano. So my first revelation with vaping was how much product I could save. The Crafty liquid pad already had a rep for being used to reduce load size, so I tried it with the Plenty pad, and it worked, but it was still a bit much for one session. Thinking that the best way to maximize efficiency was to thoroughly extract the right amount for the effect I was after........then it hit me.....just mix enough AVB with your normal dose, enough to get a nice even coverage, then pop on the liquid pad.......Bam, microdosing solved in the Plenty. You don't even need a reducer. I have one, never have bothered to use it.

I never thought so, but never thought S&B stuff was stellar in that regard (I have Crafty and Mighty also). I’ve turned into a micro-doser, so I don’t use it much anymore, but I liked it a lot when I used it.

I totally agree: what I love best is the huge bowl. When I'm done with a session, I remove the top part which gets the herb away from the heat source. It's usually good to go twice with two or 3 people.

If the reducer bowl falls out when inverted your tabs in the orange holder have broken off, have a look from below the orange bowl holder and you should see 3 tabs that hold the bowl (less if you have broken any)

I see the tabs, they're loose not broken.

As much as I enjoyed Plenty, I discovered 2 flaws, at least at mine.

1. After a number of uses, the grooves that hold the bowl on the unit breaks, from temperature fluctuations and what not. I have it for almost 3 years but I was always careful not to screw the bowl too tight.

2. To my shame I just noticed that, or maybe is a flaw developed in time. The temperature sensor is not near the oven, or has some type of insulation, because if I engage the unit, when the heat is almost up, if I change my mind and close it off, after a few second I hear the sensor reaching the desire temperature and disconnecting the power.

I tend to vape until the vape starts to diminish, discard and refill, but I have a feeling I might be throwing good herb, as only the first time the Plenty vaporizer heats up to a workable temperature, after that, the sensor never reaches the same temperature until you completely cool off the unit.
Try it. Vape a bowl until no more vape is coming out, but don't over milk your bowl. Let the unit cool off for an hour or two, vape the same bowl on the highest setting and voila lots of vapor. I discovered that by accident too, when I filled a bowl in the evening and couldn't remember in the morning if I vaped it. I noticed for about a year now that my herb is consumed at a higher rate, but I thought it's just a tolerance problem.

It was a very good vaporizer, better than most. I can still use it without one groove, but I hold it with my hand too, to be sure it's a tight seal. I never thought I'll get another design, even if this one breaks in time, but I have the flowerpot on route and can't wait to get it. For an european guy it's very hard to get it, but I managed to find a guy that can bring it to me, so I skip shipping, customs fee, and explanations at the customs office. I'm happy.

Very interesting. Yours is 3 years old, eh? Sounds to me like it's getting old. You've got me wondering what the "useable life" of a Plenty is. If you've given it daily use for three years, that sounds pretty good to me.

I usually start vaping my material around 5.5 or 6, and then I move it up closer to 7 to get other effects. I vape what's in the bowl in 2 or 3 sessions, in the same evening. I always get good vapor when I fire it up on 2nd and 3rd round.

When I first got it I used to start like that also. Just realized that. I couldn't start from 7 with a fresh bowl if my life depended on it. Now I start straight from 7. And yes, same bowl at least 3 sessions. Now just 2 sessions, with .5 grams
Hmmm...

I have to admit that a lot of times, I just vape it twice, because the vapor tastes so much better and the quality is so much better... Kinda spoiled...

Whoops today I'm comparing them in bright sunlight and when I looked closer, I saw that one of the tabs on my cradle is indeed broken off. I was looking at the upper part earlier not the retention tabs down below (there's three clip things above too). All I can say in my defense is that the standard bowl stayed in with just two tabs intact better that the reducer did when went to I tap it out, probably because it weighs more.

there are a few mentions in the thread of one member about how the tabs might break... (there are actually a lot more quotables :D )

Passing along a public service announcement about the orange chamber housing: Do not press down upon the steel insert while it's installed in the orange housing. Just this morning I snapped off one of the plastic retaining tabs

Not the first time I've snapped these tabs. You'd think I'd learn.

  • First day of ownership. Playing with it, pushed down to try to remove steel insert. Without using the instructions, or my brain. Snap!
  • Cleaning steel insert with an iso moistened q-tip. Scrub, scrub. Snap!
  • Creating a nipple in upper screen by using thumb to push center of screen into reducer. Snap!
If you want to do any of the above, remove steel insert first. Press up from underneath, not down.

About cleaning the metal herb chamber rim -- before you exert any downward cleaning pressure, remove the metal chamber from the orange plastic by pushing up from under. Not down. I have broken tabs from that orange housing by scrubbing and pushing down. Don't make my mistake. The instructions show the disassembly direction clearly, but I have issues with authority and instructions. Magic eraser works well to get off the baked on grime, just rinse it well after.
