The Plug-In Supreme Vaporizer

It actually performs even BETTER due to that TC/coil hack @JCat did! Imagine how JCat's new vaporizer design will be! :o

One would need to test the SV3 Mod against the SV4 and to my knowledge this has not been done, so that is a bit of a far stretch at the moment.
Even with the TC mod the coil is still just as hot in order to read the temp at the normal SV3 TC position.
Same heat exchanger, same coil should perform similarly.
The only difference I see is the extra bulk for a heatsink, which the SV4 clearly does not need to perform well.

I knew I could count on you Lazy to maks me jealous damn you!:argh:
I have gotten over all the amazing toys you have that I can't use. I was happy with things after months/years of consoling myself and working on being thankful.

NOW- once again I feel like I am missing the party. Oh well, Im sure I will come to terms with it. Especially if I can tolerate Jcat's Ti/quartz masterpiece vape coming soon.

But one great thing about these green eyed feelings you have stirred up in me- I caved in yesterday and ordered the rdk-300 and coil for the Elev8r. I felt a little guilty as I have spent too much lately and am still trying to build funds for the Digi-Ti as soon as I can get hold of it.

But now I realise that ordering the Auber was totally the right thing to do and will help me cope with my VAS torments as I surely watch the reviews we originally expected to start rolling in.
I can just enjoy the show now while maintaining my own little paradise.:)

There's an electric mod for the elev8r too?

Yeah check out vapecritics live stream from Saturday. He begins the stream with the Elev8r and coil and explains all about it, he's loving it just as much as Sub, GS, FP etc you name it.

Maybe a little more? Check it out anyway. Certainly some exciting developments going on in the vape world right now.

It's not a far stretch... @JCat explained why in his thread! It's due to the way the TC and PID work together and control the temperature. I didn't mean because of the heatsink, although I think perhaps even that helps? I honestly wouldn't want it the way Jcat originally had it, and actually cancelled my order until he revised and hacked that coil! Complete game changer for me!

@Alexis you're now bringing your Elev8tr E-mod crusade to this thread? :goon: Weren't you already warned in the FP thread? :brow::cool:;):luv::tup:

Have to spread my wings bro! I actually see it as a good thing to spread a little word of developments around in other threads, too many good things come from members catching wind of things they otherwise would miss. As long as it is kept minimal, appropriate context and in good taste, with due respect for the appropriate thread and the members there of course.

Such exciting times right now with developments across the board, and it's all related as we strive to take vapes, and vaping, to the next step.

Really am happy though to see Lazy getting his SV4 working so well. Can't wait Bio to see what you get your own hands on, the Jcat mod it is? Hasn't he saved the day for you at what could otherwise been a time of "Supreme" disappointment which otherwise might have made it hard to find a focus for a little while, after SO MANY disappointments and dead ends over the years and recently.

I know the feelings at those dead ends where you have to back up, not sure where you are goiing to drive next, because I have been there myself. So we both share this kind of journey and experience, with individual differences of course.

BUT- I have some clear and positive focus and direction myself now, with Digital Ti on map, and Elev8r mods (note- no "T", @Morty is STILL borowwing it remember?);)

I was just thinking today how cool it will be when we can ALL be more content than ever before with our vape lineups. I am closer than ever before now. Just need continued improvement with health and allergies, and eventually (one step at a time in current conditions) I definitely wanna join you on that Rosin and bubble.

This is the SV4 thread guys...
Not the SV3 Mod thread...
Not the ELEV8 thread...

Maybe someone should start an SV3 compared to SV4. Still not sure how someone can claim there mod works better than a product they have not tried?

Last thought on this subject:
When you heat the SV3 with the torch, how hot does the side you heat get?
How long does that heat take to travel to the heat sensor until it starts to register heat?
I know all the answers, damn hot for the first one and a while till the sensor starts to read the temp going up.
This is EXACTLY the same as the mod... Heat the side hot till the temp sensor, now removed from the coil starts to climb.
I can bet you that the actual coil temp is not what the TC now is reading!! 100%
It takes a lot of energy to keep the block heated, as noted when torch heating and drawing, the temp goes down, a unique feature that only the SV3 seems to be able to do.

If i had to do that with my SV4 would it make it better than the SV3?

Let's keep it uncluttered!
Tried some 4 year old shatter i found using full convection, temp was low as i did not adjust it.
Nice light vapor that tasted great! Nice effects for early afternoon!
Off to the gym now!

@lazylathe , you are dead right, and I am sorry guys- I respect you and your view and will stay on topic bruv. Always such a tease thesw threads I would love to be an active part of, because I can't even tease myself, until Jcat's Ti/quartz evolution arrives.
I would certainly be up for testing a Ti Supreme, or (quartz if more suitable), to see how my allergies would go with it.
God I am REALLY REALLY wasted. Im struggling for words here. I just modded (a differerent vape:lol:), and it has blown my head off. I'll be watching you all from the sidelines here, good show so far!

@Alexis

It's all good, it happens to all of us.
There is a lot of dislike for the SV4 but we still need to keep it related to the SV4, good or bad.

Either way, decided to do a quick mod!
XBH1XcK.jpg

Now i have an idea of what is going on! When hitting it, the temp raises slightly and then drops back to normal, pretty neat!
This thermometer is also different to the SV3 one as this one just has two wires encased in a small blob of glass as the TC. Reads differently for some reason, good enough for now!

Have to setup for some videos tomorrow!

New post for vapor porn!!
These were lower temp hits, first one was 585F on the Pod and 210C on the thermometer and the second one was 605F PID and 220C on the thermometer.
I need to use the SV3 one to get a etter reading.

The last one is uploading, will be back shortly!

Here is the second one.
Will use a better setup tomorrow, these were just quick and dirty!

After a few bowls yesterday at 585F, I decided to go up in temp and see what happened. I also brought out a few WT's from storage for testing.
Since I was upping the temp, I also moved the small silicone seal all the way to the bottom of the heat tube.
Still only using the full convection mod!

With the temp up to 630F on the PID and 220C on the thermometer the hits were insane. Nice vapor that tastes great and massive clouds.
I was not having much luck using my large RooR WT in the beginning but using this technique I can effortlessly fill the can with vapor.

I am still unsure of recommending this vape due to a number of reasons:
1- the supplied controller does not meet my standards for an enail controller. No fuse to blow first and no way to repair it if it goes haywire.
2- apparently my High Five coil is a LOT thinner than other flat coils and this will cause headaches for those that just want the SV4 body.
3- who knows how long it will be supported when a new version is made or the maker decides he has had enough.
4- it comes with No spare parts at all! I would expect a spare bowl and some extra rubber grommets as standard. The SV3 at least came with a spare set of silicone tubes and grommets.
5- no input on the forum from the inventor since the 1st model. A lot of this could have been easily avoided by participating in the discussion.

I do agree that the SV4 is superior the the SV3 (unmodded) in a lot of ways but as @JCat has shown us, there can be a lot of really useful changes that would bring it further into the 21st century!

More videos later today when the vape train leaves the station!

Your recent posts and tests @lazylathe has got me curious to dust off my SV4 and give her a run again. Think that might be tonight’s time machine of choice...

Just make sure the coil has no way of moving away from the heat exchanger, there has to be 100% contact.
Also remember that i am not using the bowl system...

Set it at 620F and wait for the temp to stabilize, then just figure out how long to leave the stem inserted before hitting for max vapor. I found timing to be crucial when using the bowl system and i hate timing stuff.
With my convection mod, I load and hit immediately after with fantastic results.

Hope you have better luck this time!
Hit me up with any questions and I will do my best to help you out!

Going to try Convection style. Agreed @lazylathe the bowl system blows.

Thinking of this set up for convection- FP with sv4 on top. Did a quick eye check and think the sv4 will fit nicely inside the top of the FP carb. Going to tear up nugs and sprinkle in the center of FP carb. Wish I had a 18F/14M Adaptor that could hold a screen or basket. All I got is 24F/18M pieces from Roor Vapor unit or GS.

Fingers crossed for FP carb for sv4 Convection

@Dubmonkey

Just had a quick look at my FP SH bowl, you mentioned the carb not sure how that will work.
My way would be to use the FP bowl with a basket screen near the bottom of the FP bowl hole.
The SV4 will fit into the hole of the FP bowl with a bit of space, you can overcome this by adding a small bit of silicone around the heat port to seal against the top of the FP bowl.

Unless you still have the original silicone on the heat port and that fits? Not sure as i removed all of mine!

One last point and it is important!
Remove as much of the original silicone as you can before trying it again.
Just an FYI, this is what he inventor wants it to look like now for better performance.

Yeah I meant FP bowl not carb lol @lazylathe. Guess I might be stuck in the old combustible world.

I will remove a lot of the silicone material but was going to keep some like you saw to seal the sv4 and FP bowl. The airizer baskets I got don’t fit my FP bowl that well. I think it will do for tonight’s testing.

A quick test today!

That was take two as take one, which was better, turned out to be just a picture... Either way it was two hits and quit, each one was 0,1g.

Report: started with finer ground material sprinkled into the center as a little mountain. Ed PID set to 730. Waited for some heat soak to happen. Then placed the sv4 on to the FP bowl with a screen. None of my baskets fit my FP bowl. Placed the sv4 on tomthe little hill,of material and started drawing. Got some vapor but not milky enough.

Tried turning the heat up,to 750 kinda same result. Then 780 and now things starting to get interesting. Some better vapor is being made. Also to note at 780 i tried it with three or four small torn up bits of nug.
Not bad but not milky. Started to feel the good effects. After my partner wanted to switch to SH and wasn’t happy with the sv4 experience.

Some things I need to do is cut that silicone hose of since I have the whole sv4 shaft covered with the OG silicone. For sure it turns super white with the heat on and worried about anything being let out gas wise.

Going to try a basket of torn up nug in a basket inside of my GS funnel bowl. Want to see if that works better.

For sure higher heat needed on the PID than using Ed bowl system.

More testing tionight

@Dubmonkey

It is very important to remove most of that silicone as I said before. It takes around 40-+ degrees more than if you removed it.
Please do this before trying again tonight.

@Dubmonkey

I went into the vape cave to experiment for you!
Since we both do not like the way the SV4 loads, I decided to look at alternative ways to use the tube without the hassle!
This is Version 1:

Remove most of the silicone from the top part of the heat tube.
Cut the bit extending past the heat tube, level with the end of the heat tube.
Now the stem will fit inside the heat tube but there is space for air to enter and thin the hit! We do not want this!
Take your stem and insert into the SV4, now move up the top red grommet till it touches the silicone at the base of the heat tube. Remove the stem and push the grommet slightly more up so it will seal tighter when you rest the SV4 onto the red grommet.

Now i can load a tube, insert into my 14mm joint, drop the SV4 on top and give it 30 seconds to preheat and hit it!! White vapor, thick and delicious!!
A 1/4 stem with a few bits of shatter on top and i am done!!

@Morty

I am starting to save up kief as i think the SV4 will blow the stock SV3 out of the water with my test! Can you remind me of what it all contained?
Great news though!! I found some older shatter in a drawer that is like glass and still hits hard!
Also have some very flowery tasting ISO reclaim i found in a box...
Getting the hang of this dangerous beast!

Ok got it @lazylathe thanks. By chance for any pics of the final set up you tested above?

Hope these help!

This is partially inserted, you can see the gap. When sealed there are no gaps, it's great that the red grommets are so soft!

Now it's easy to load and just drop the Sv4 on top and wait +-30 seconds!
I would go down to 620F to start.

You @lazylathe are a genius. Came home after worked and immediately started to modify my sv4 with @lazylathe recommendations. Got a razor blade and removed the silicone as directed. Stuffed the sv4 bowl with material placed it in a 14mm downsize glass connector. You know the ones you put in a 18F joint so you can use a 14F bowl. Anyway, found that placing the SV4 bowl into, the glass joint converter piece makes a great way to handle the hot sv4 bowl tube after use.

Turned on the PID to 710 and placed sv4 on the sv4 bowl which is wedged into the 14 to 18 glass connector piece attached to my roor. Waited 30 seconds as instructed. Started the draw and milk came running down the roor downstem instantly. My partner and I did two bowls each and haven’t felt this medicated with such little material in a while. The medicated feeling lasted for a good while. Material was coming out a very dark brown.

This sv4 is looking more like a keeper maybe. I think now that the bowl is a lot easier to use my only other pet peeve is the PID / Coil. Think I might go get a regular xlr wired flat coil and replace the flat coil currently in my sv4 so I can use my Peli Nail or HN02 to power the coil.

Ok I see the light on the sv4 now...
