@KidFated.
Thanks my friend. There is passion here. I was talking to a friend about Lil' Bud today, and how lucky I am to be able to combine 2 passions, and actually create a third - wordworking + vaping = vape building.
My situation is near perfect. I work by myself, for myself, hence very little overhead. I'm not planning on paying my mortgage based on my vape business, that keeps my decisions pure. I have pretty good woodworking skills, as well as a genius designer, who has shared a tremendous amount of knowledge with me. And, and, and... for the let's say fourth time in my life, I found a job I absolutely love.

I helped folks for free for 30 years. I loved computers. Liked thinking about advancements and how they integrated with common man. I never charged. Dodge Truck gave me money. Did it in my spare time so I could fill spare time
I don't need to look in my wallet for my worth. I know who I am. Never asked anyone's name. Didn't matter. We are all brothers.
Never felt like it was a burden. Life is it's own reward. Don't gotta tell you that you are blessed. Because you are.

I was a working hard all day, determined to get to the post office, but at about 3 PM, I realized it wasn't gonna happen. Tonight they'll all get boxed up, and off to PO tomorrow morning. At least I got some pics to brighten up the evening. I apologize for the ten eagerly waiting, I know that it sucks to wait. What's awesome about these beauties is that they perform every bit as good as they look.

Those pictures are amazing
I have been eying the lil bud for a while but i couldn't efford it even when i took extra shifts, so looking at it makes me sad and happy at the same time.

Because i wouldn't have this work of art any time soon

My tubo is on his way, i bought this week the woodscent, i sold the hydrobrick for OG.

LIL BUD seems to be the missing part
He seems like a very mobile and durable and at the same time potent and simple, what an amazing COMBO.

Mobility, durability, potency , smoothness and simple (correct me if i am wrong)

This is the order of my vaporizers
Mflb(i had) ->arizer eq(i had) ->hydrobrick->tubo->woodscents->OG->LIL BUD

i hope to catch that lil bud asap

I wish u the best luck with this product, this is my most viewed thread in fc.

Yeah sorry, lagging it pretty bad....

My bad, been chilling on this first run; hogging it selfishly, all to my self!

my precious!!!

It works grate, sure y'all already heard though. :]

Came with this sweat cherry stem I didn't expect. Not needed at all and unexpected, but very appreciated. It really pulls the vape together in amazing way! Much more classy then glass IMO.

I would have personally chose a 19/19, seems a lot don't like them as dry stems.(I know I sure do.. ) So it's actually pretty dang cool as would never have tried it wise.

Yeah, buy this vape if you're interested. It's my new favorite portable...

Also, this one is a bit less likely to combust. Still hesitant to try with first timers, but guests have been able to use this one successfully first try with a lil coaching. No nasty burnt resin to clean up so far.

Nothings bendable to really touch the logs yet, but they getting dang close!!!

Thanks again @Bravesst !!! Hey what's word on one of those little volt reader doors? Would be bees knees if i could get one.

Amazing what a little walnut porn will do. I'm glad I got some pics before shipping. I absolutely love how this batch turned out, cosmetically, as well as functionally. Even when there is an issue, I can take apart and fix it.

Now it's time to start batch 3.

@slatihe Thanks for that awesome review! The battery tester is available on the website, just click on the link to *all products*. https://vapwood.com/shop-lil-bud

Lil' Bud Maintenance
I made a slight tweak to Lil' Bud on batch 2, and moved the coil about a mm closer to the stem. This did 2 things, bumped up power & efficiency a bit, and it has kept my stem pretty spotless. It does this simply by keeping things dry in the stem. In the past week, I have not had to change / clean screens. I empty it after each use, being sure to get all ABV out, but it remains a wide open air path.

So I'm up at 5AM, packing up boxes, being real careful to get everything just right. I'm completely finished, when I realize there's a back plate sitting on my packing table. I'm not sure how this is even possible, but I'm not 100 percent it doesn't belong to a packed up unit. I had to unpack each unit, check to see back plates were in tact, and repack. They were all in place, somehow, an extra back plate made it to the packing table.

Off to the PO at 9AM!
@sickmanfraud
Matching Switchbox is a nice touch! As it involve some extra steps with each unit, from here on out it will be a paid upgrade at an additional $20. If you buy the *Total Package*, it's included at no extra cost.

Shipped, shipped, and shipped... I was in the post office for over an hour filling out those damn custom forms and waiting for the clerk to enter the endless info. I'll get you guys your tracking numbers later today...

Not to let any grass grow under foot, I roughed out the next batch, cutting them all to size, and creating the mortise for the battery. That was an overwhelming task when I first started, even on the last batch it took twice as long as it did today. A 1/4 and 1/2 inch pair of simple wooden spacers made the job twice as fast. Once the router was set up, I never had to touch it. I wound up cutting 15 mortises, even though batch three is 10, I like to work with extra. I can always use extra wood bodies in next batch.

This batch is all cherry, got some really nice wavy grained cherry. Not sure what I'm doing with the switch boxes just yet.

ATTENTION PAID CUSTOMERS
Anybody who paid (not batch 1 or 2) and thinks they rather hold out for walnut, please let me know. I have plenty of people that will take Cherry. Next batch will probably be walnut again, so it's not a long wait. Most batch 3 people have already chose cherry. I'll try and accommodate your stem request as well, but that's gonna be about what stems I have (getting a shipment soon of walnut and cherry).

ATTENTION WAITING LIST
Batch 4 will start to work off the waiting list. So far it's taken two weeks to get a batch of 10 out. I'm predicting ten days this time around. But either way, in a month waiting list will start to ship.

I am pretty much right on schedule from what I first predicted. I think at this point, barring any unforeseen occurrences, my projected ship dates will hold up or improve.

@Bravesst Is there a way to find out potentially how far down the line I am. I only put a down payment so I’m thinking there is people in front of me that paid in full.

All fully paid and down payments that weren't in batch 1 and 2, should make it into batch 3. Right now the size of batch 3 can potentially grow a bit, so now might be a good time to plop down $50 and sneak into batch 3, as I want to stay caught up on paid orders and start to work off the waiting list.

I just wanted to update batch 2 people on the battery safety tab situation. As I was packing up orders, I realized I was out of tabs, and out of stock to make them. I was toying with the idea of plastic tabs (shirt collar stays), and I had a few around I quickly prepared, each order got 2. Today, I will form 10 tabs for each order and ship to each customer.

Please don't use just anything for the safety tab. It's gotta be no more than 1/64" thick, and have nice smooth edges.

Taking my time, setting everything up just right (thinking about going forward). It's funny, at the beginning, especially during the sizing on the table saw, I always make one dumb mistake, so number 15 bit the dust. You guys see why it's just less stress to start with extra wood bodies.

So with the dumb mistake out of the way, it's time to get serious. Here's what a half day yesterday and few hours today has yielded.

YESTERDAY - mortises cut with a router / hand finished with chisels

32XmRqY.jpg

TODAY - back plate groove (router table), rounded edges (router table), cut to size (tablesaw)

a72mepY.jpg

TOMORROW - first hole drilled, magnet holes drilled (drill press), switch box cut out (tablesaw), switch box cut to size (tablesaw), 3 remaining holes drilled (drill press), switch box drilled out (drill press). Then it's time to start faring up, working with 320 grit sandpaper (maybe some 220 if necessary), eventually working down to 600 and 0000 steel wool.

At that point, it's time to head into the electrical and assembly shop for phase two, coil building and assembly.

Hey Friend,
Jamaica is in Queens, one of the five boros of NYC and only about 20 miles from me. Yes, it is major distribution center for Long Island. You're in the home stretch now!

I spent lots of time on set ups yesterday as well. That should pay off big time, requiring less fussing with each unit to get a perfect fit between body and switch box.
