Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

I'd read somewhere here in the 700 pages, that someone's whistle had disappeared only to return after they had given the bamboo a clean.

Btw here's a link to vapefiends review where you can clearly hear the whistle, mine's at least as loud, or was till I put the filter on.
LIVIN CORRECT!
NOISE ?
WHO give's a RAT's ASS?

EVO SUNDAY with RAIN on this PALE BLUE DOT!

Hello each and everyone,
I have a question about the temperature of the evo.
How we know the exact temperature since the machine doesn’t have a thermometer.
I put a probe thermometer in the bamboo and the temperature was over 380 Celsius while the knob was at 12...
Of course one can understand the rough temperature from the flavour of the vapour.
Anyway I would appreciate if anyone who knows or did temperature tests have more information or observations
Thank you so much

R U serious?

CANNABIS temperature not device!

Have U even smoked joint's?

The EVO is fine the way it is!

Get a device with a temperature read out if U need it?

Thanks for the answer but I think you didn’t understand what I ask. First of all , of course the evo is fine , I love it. But my question is since inside the bamboo about 3-4 cm in depth, the temperature is 350+ then how we know the exact temperature of the weed in the basket. Personally I don t need a temperature read out cause they are usually unreliable and I understand the temperature from the flavor of the vapour and after adjust accordingly
Thank you

I hope U don't misunderstand me?

I smoked about 6 joints a day before vaping!

The EVO taste better than joints.

Thermo-couplers will be the best way I know to get an exact temperature.

I was just saying U might need a $2000.00 unit to get what you want?

Please forgive for going by feeling.

FWIW I plan on doing some temp testing with the Evo soon. I'll post the results in the vape temp charts thread so keep an eye out over there. That is of course unless @stickstones beats me to it.:ugh:

BTW welcome to FC and I see you've met @ataxian... He speaks in tongues sometimes, but you'll soon find out that he's harmless and is as lovable as a bunny rabbit. Just don't let him touch your glass. :uhoh:

Thank you so much guys for the welcome. I bought 1 month ago a vapexhale cloud evo and is best vaporizer I tried and own so faf. I have no problem whatsoever with the lack of thermometer and not precise temperature control. I like the simplicity of this vaporizer. This vaporizer helped me to quit smoking .
But we can t know the exact temperature of tha cannabis except if someone tests the temperature with a prob in the middle of basket/weed and tell us results. Thank you guys

Even if measured by someone, I think this is not going to be all that illuminative as the air flow over (through) the hot bamboo is dependent on your draw speed and we are all different so a given setting on the dial may indeed result in a different temp hitting your flower depending on draw.

I just found that 1:00 to 1:15 works for me in most cases. Occassionally will drop down to 12:30 - 12:45 for milder hits or up to 1:30 for stronger. I have found with my EVO, that this range is what suits me.

Considering that these are all completely analog devices, they may vary a small bit from unit to unit.

Cheers

Siebo said "it may whistle but you'll get massive clouds." Nice enough guy, but they basically cant control which ones whistle or not.
That's all true, it's probably almost impossible to predict how a bamboo will whistle, even when all bamboos look and perform the same, tiny differences can change their sound significantly. What they could do is to test these bamboos and discard the loud ones.
The Evo bamboo holes are smaller so whistling is more likely was my take away.
This is not true, all bamboos should have exactly same sized holes, from early originals, to late EVOs. Any smaller or bigger ones would be manufactoring errors. They only changed posistion withing the bamboo during early EVOs, but that only had little effect on the "heating per draw speed curve", not much whistling.
I've had one original Cloud and 3 EVOs (each one with different hole positions) and they all whistled a little differently, and not a single one whistled loudly. And the original Cloud had the smallest hole of them all.
I'm sorry for your whistling bamboo, I think the loud ones are random and rare, so a bamboo replacement could very likely fix that.
And you don't need to go back to original Cloud to fix that because the whistling is basically the same there, some originals also whistle loudly.
Theres no bamboo that doesn't whistle, all of them do, just differently with peaks at dirrefent draw speeds and some of them are loud.
Did you try putting on the heat shield and having the velcro muffle the sound? In my case even if it wasn't that loud in the first place, the velcro made it almost silent beyond my expectations.
Why they don't sell extra bamboos for self install for evos is beyond me.. it's easy to do and should be made easy to get replacement bamboos for issues like this and for when breakage occurs.
I'd love that, had my bamboo broken once... However I think the bamboo replacement is not really fool-proof enough for them to trust all cutomers in doing that. I remeber there was one time when a lot of bamboos were breaking and they found it was because someone was tightening the heater too much.

I agree with all that, except that the hole size on the bamboos does vary considerably. I dont think its manufacturing error, i think it's that they have a wide tolerance in manufacturing; the units will work with variable sized holes. I do think hole size effects the whistle, among all the other factors; I don't see how it couldn't....

I bought a mess of clouds for friends when they first came out, a couple evos, and have gone thro ugh several bamboos on the evo.... All of them vary in hole size, some quite noticeably.

None of the clouds ever whistled. But that may have just been good luck.

There's no way to stop the whistling on evo bamboos I've tried, other than varying draw speed, IME. TRUST ME I TRIED. LOL!

I just don't care for that noise as friends are like why does this whistle and I hate having to explain it. It's a terrible noise. I don't like having to change my draw speed to avoid a harsh noise. Just kills the experience. It's a serous defect to evos IMO.

My favorite unit is an old ticker. It's bamboo hole size is almost twice as wide as my evo's. It's draws WAAAAAY EASIER...

Vapexhale acknowledged to me hole sized varied on the evos; they looked for bamboos for my evo that had a bigger hole because I asked them to do that. All they sent still whistled, though.

All and all, i think the old ticker produces better vapor anyway, so I just use the Evo when I travel because if it breaks--not much of a loss to me....

If they fix the bamboo issues on the evo, I'd use it more though. I think they're concentrating on growing the company, not tinkering with the Evo anymore though.

As for replacement bamboos, it's pretty easy to put a new bamboo in. They should sell them for replacement. Those who screw it up can pay to for a repair of the screw up. But simple instructions would suffice for most people with any ability with a screw driver.

I love my EVO for taste, herbal efficiency, functionality and vapor signature. IMO it's a cannabis connoisseur's best tool/vape if you can stand.....the time to temp and that damn whistle. It is my first choice of all my vapes when enjoying the session is my primary goal.

I'm out of the cannabis closet, my kids are all out on their own and I work around the crawl to temp by getting the temp started first and then working the ELB (and anything else I can prioritize while waiting). The EVO isn't my first choice when I'm thinking on-demand or don't have the luxury off time.

If I was still in the cannabis closet and my kids were still living at home, that whistle would be a serious downer/problem.

So while I understand the complaints about the whistle and time to temp ...... My EVO never gets lonely.

I must admit that I am not half as impressed as I thought I would be. I will give it some more days before coming to a final conclusion for myself, but I expected more somehow...

@Dynavaper - Try this if you haven't already...

- Set temp to max.
- Fill the ELB 1/2 full. Don't pack tight.
- Put in ELB.
- Once temp reaches max, set temp dial to 12 o'clock or 1 o'clock if you prefer higher temps normally.
- Once temp reaches the lower setting of 12 or 1 start using

Ignore the whistle and do what feels right to you but keep in mind you can draw as hard as you like and you won't over-run the temp/heat. The EVO is a convection beast and likes it when you draw harder than usual. Play with the draw speed and find your sweet spot.

I apologize in advance if you've been told all this before.

I think it varies less in the EVOs than original Clouds, they said they've decreased the manufacturing tolerance with EVOs.

the units will work with variable sized holes. I do think hole size effects the whistle, among all the other factors; I don't see how it couldn't....
I think so too, if different bamboos whistle differently and the hole positions have little effect on that, the size variance seems to be the only possible factor. I've jsut got an impression that you want a original Cloud because you think the holes will be larger there. That can be possible if you're very lucky and get one like that, but on average both original clouds and EVOs have the smae sized holes and the same whistle. So getting an original cloud for that reason would very likely disappoint you, also the EVOs are much better than originals in many ways.
I think you would have best chances if you asked specificaly for larger holes, but you already did that.
My favorite unit is an old ticker. It's bamboo hole size is almost twice as wide as my evo's. It's draws WAAAAAY EASIER...
I've seen many clouds and evos and never seen one witch significantly larger holes, but if you have one, then it's probably possible, but I think it was only a small batch of very first early clouds. And probably not many like that in existence anymore.
But I think getting the standard average a little bigger might make them better. Less draw resistance and possibly less noise.
As for replacement bamboos, it's pretty easy to put a new bamboo in. They should sell them for replacement. Those who screw it up can pay to for a repair of the screw up. But simple instructions would suffice for most people with any ability with a screw driver.
I think you have a point, if you do it yourslef and screw it up, it's your problem and you can use another bamboo and try again or send it in if you don't believe yourself.

I often put it on high to heat up and then dial it back if I want speed up the heating... seems to work!

P.s. never trust the red and green light indicator... it means very little. Once the base is warm to the touch, it's ready to go. Before that is hit or miss on whether you'll get vapor....

@Seek, the clouds i have (which are about 5 or 6 broken ones and a couple working units) have variable sized holes. IMO the original clouds are pretty much better than evos, except evos have replaceable bamboos and replaceable cords and go longer before shutting off.

Performance wise, an OG cloud with flower is pretty unbeatable. Not to say an Evo isn't great, but mine whistles and i have to run it at higher temps. The OG cloud will produce thick clouds at 10pm on the dial. My evo will not do that.

Dear @His_Highness,

first of all, thank you for taking the time to guide a newbie to the Vapexhale! This is very kind of you. I had tried most of your advices already before, but setting the temp to MAX first and then going down to 1 o'clock in my case made already a big difference. I just tried it and really liked that session. It's still not exactly what I expected, but this is rather my problem than an issue with the EVO. I will now reset my expectations and will give the device some more days. I am much more hopeful now that I did not waste EUR 450,- than I was before your post.

All the best and thanks again!
