VapCap or Log style for fast microdosing at home?

That's a good question! I haven't done that comparison. I did like the vapcap stems better than the glass ones with the WS. But I can't think of a better microdose solution than the WS - mated with a vapcap stem it's the smallest load I've ever seen.

Chances are @dunwich will get hooked on vapcaps if he gets one, and how cool is it to be able to use them with your log, too!? And since the WS comes with a stem and vapcap tip, you essentially get a beautiful vapcap for free. You guys let me know if I'm mistaken about the WS package, but if I'm not, the OP is deciding between a log or a vapcap when he can have both in one log purchase.
Yeah well I don't know either and why I was asking because OP is looking for a smooth option. I personally find my glass core Log way smoother and efficient then my vapcap. And with a Bamboo HI log priced at $50 to $65 , plenty money left for OP to get a vapcap too since miney not a real issue.. now I'll have to try and fit my vapcap on my log eithe by just holding it above heater or using silicone to make connection . Oh and I'm sure the vapcap isn't free with the WS, price must take into consideration the value of vapcap.. just my :2c:

This is pretty much all I’ve been using at home and away, and I’ve been plenty medicated.

Are Bamboo HI's readily available, or subject to the wait list? Great price, for sure!

If I understand the package correctly, the WS comes with a stem for it that uses a vapcap tip, and the kit comes with the vapcap cap to use with it when away from the WS. At least that's what I was lobbying for and thought he did...

The Woodscents is AC not DC powered. Check on the UD & HI to be sure.

Woodscents is DC, it uses a wall plug to transform the current which runs at 12v. The wall plug uses a USA pin layout but can run 110v or 220v.

The e-nano I believe is AC and only runs at 110v (last I checked).

Being DC means you can run the WS off a car battery if you wanted to. Good for caravans and campsites.

It also means the WS will work with UD's variable voltage adapter.

However I don't know if @Ed's TnT has CE certification yet so he may not be shipping to the EU yet.

My :2c: is grab a VapCap M and an induction heater. From there you have so many options.

As I suggested it's worth sending him an email to find out . I did email to replace my roasting tube and ask about wooden ones saying I liked my glass core bamboo, he did mention in his response he had a few left, form what I understood anyways...

Not saying that WS isn't good, I'm just thinking that a wooden or glass bowl/stem might be better suited for OP's desires. I can get as small a load in both the log stem or the vapcap. It must be similar with other logs too..

Does the WS come with other tube/tip options? I haven't visited that thread lately , will check it out as sounds interesting

I am a wood fan and have given away all of my portable vapes that aren't wood (except for the fury). I have all of the wood vapes discussed so far and the woodscent is a special log because its components can be used by themselves as portables. On the other hand, Dreamwood has several different butane vapes that all look very interesting. It is located in Germany which may help with shipping.

Yeah, good point @Summer Ed really ought to put a complete package deal together for his customers! :haw: Goodness Gracious @Ed's TnT how do you fit all that kit into a USPS mail tube?! I knew that in addition to the titanium-gutted woodscents, you threw in half a dozen ways to hit it plus the aroma cup but seriously dude! Until seeing Summer's post, I didn't realise you give an extra ti screen & o-rings along with the FREE custom VapCap that's already in the package?! You don't even get those when you buy a VC! NICE!

@little maggie Glad to see you chiming in here, ma'am! I remember seeing a photo of your fabulous collection and WOW - You should be very proud to have put together such a group of stunning, unique devices. I also hear these craftsmen secretly fight* over whose vape little maggie uses the most! :ninja:

There is also the MUSA vape, which is built in Europe, I believe. Light powered log!

I'll chime in and say that without budget as a concern, get the Woodscents! Best of both worlds, log and VC, with only one start up cost.

This is a shift but I started thinking about the portable vapes I own that, to me, are loglike. The tubo which I think comes from Switzerland is one and the splinter with a mod box is another. I'm waiting for an iheat which is supposed to be portable but can also be plugged in. Right now I use those 2 more than the other logs or portables I own and, as much as I love the vapcaps, I prefer the battery ones to butane.

If you're a wood fan (I am), then I assume that you've been following The Nomad thread?

I'm on the waiting list for the nomad. I have too many vapes for 1 person. But the handmade wood ones are so beautiful that I like to look at them and hold them even though I'm not using them (I mainly skip the butane ones and use desktops less than portables). We have some incredible wood artists here at FC like Ed, Alan and RBT.

@Ed's TnT , That is actually what the IHeat is, a 2 in 1 unit. The 12v base makes it a desktop , the cartridge with a mod box a portable . So I guess Alan does that too .

I tried it and George's vapcap tip does create a seal on the HI's glass core cover heater . I just don't have a wood turned shell for George's tip but still works with the vapcap stem

I don't think it's the same. My understanding is that you have to buy the part that turns the iheat into a desktop separately while the two functions are a basic part of the whisper.

I never thought of trying a vapcap tip with my HI. Interesting. But I'm also confused because most of my vapcaps have wood stems- some made by other designers on FC to decrease harshness.

I didn't say it was the same , just said it can be a portable and/or a plug-in desktop vape, making it a 2 in 1 vape as well.
The difference is you get the same power of on-demand heater in both situations as opposed to plug-in / butane ..

Yes , @phattpiggie makes kick ass vapcap stems too, not sure who else does but you are right , others do too

Well I wouldn't pry it on but if both pieces held (stem one hand, log the other) it could serve a purpose . They weren't built to receive one another for sure , just a hack I tried for fun while on subject, not a recommendation to OP . Sorry , @little maggie , didn't mean to mislead or suggest they were a direct over fit for each other.

I still think the best option for OP if aiming for smoothness would be a glass or wooden bowl/stem to eliminate any metal possible .

Unfortunately I like using screens to sandwich the herb. So even though all I own are wood or glass stems I use metal on all of them. I tried the glass stems with holes and some other glass that serves the same function as screens but none worked well enough.

I use a mesh screen too , i could have been more precise, using a wooden or glass stem still eliminates using a metal tip /bowl / flower receptacle , whatever you want to call it.

I do like the vapcap a lot, but having to choose between the two I'd go with a log.

It's just faster and more convenient if you're vaping at home. You can have it always plugged in and ready to go. No batteries or butane to fuss with. Just load the stem and inhale, you're there.

Meanwhile the vapcap requires a working torch with butaine. Then youhave to heat it for several seconds, wait for the click, and inhale. It's a really great portable vape but it takes time when the log vape just doesn't.

As for which log vape, just pick one. Enano, UD, HI, Woodscents. They all work fantastically, they all have tons of happy customers, and if you ask me their quality and vapor differences are tiny, you'll be happy with any of them.

I am partial to UD and Alan though. Both have incredibly great customer service. They're also 12v, which means it's really easy to use a portable battery pack and use it on the go. Great for camping. They also have the biggest variety of stems, all interchangeable between the two. And the interior, metal stems are incredible for microdosing. The bowl is even smaller than the vapcaps.

@ZC, I don't use butane with my vapcaps, only the IH. Fill the bowl, insert in induction heater, wait a few second for the click & draw. Speaking of stem assortments, besides glass stems, the WS can use any vapcap stem, OEM or custom.
