Hey all chiming in and hoping for some help. When the Iq 1st released i had a few problems with my Og unit but Davinci had taken care of my warranty issues and got a new Iq out my way. It has seen some use but is still like new, i do regular cleanings but recently ran into the weirdest issue and it will not stop happening. I am wondering if anyone else has had this is issue or if @Davinci_vaporizer may know what could be causing it. So mid way through a session now my lid will always pop open , it will not stay shut when this happens and its only happening mid way , once everything cools down it closes and is fine. I cleaned and inspected everything and just cannot figure it out. It is like the flavor chamber is starting to raise up causing the top with my Mouthpiece to pop open on its own and has become a problem for me. I even inspect everything after cleaning and it all looks fine. So if anyone at all can help out i'd really appreciate bc i happen to enjoy using this vape and traveling with it and now i cannot .
I hope you are lucky but for me this is a big problem. I start with one iq and its pearl got broken. The next one with only one week had a crack in oven but cs told me it was only the seam that got dirty. After some months (the vape is 8 months old now) started to have the raised up mouthpiece problem. No explanation except they can fix it( i think silicon gasket gets inflated for something and pushes the flavour chamber). When i was deciding to start my RMA because this the metal parts of the bottom door where the pearl is got degumped because it glue got broken and also the same problem in the other side with the metal part where the flavour chamber sits. I told cs and they said me again the crack its only a dirty seam, the glue degumped it s normal because use (moderate use only 6 months) and that I can use my own glue to fix it (wtf) and that they can fix flavor chamber raised up with no more explanation. For me this is unacceptable and the unit is defective because anything about heating. So I can t trust davinci iq is a healthy unit and now I have a modern and cool paperweight because the only moment I m going to use this is if they change my unit for one new. Of course after saying this cs got dissapeared and no answer to my mail (I don t kmow if the problem is I m in Spain but storz and bickell and ploom changed my mighty and pax with no problems). So I hope you don t start with all my problems because the truth is the vape gives really good vapor but if it has heating problems can be literally a bomb exploding in your hands

My problem is not as severe but still drives me nuts. When I turn on my Olive IQ (same as IQ) it goes straight to the smart path and I'm looking for my precise temp, which is supposed to happen with the 6th click(5 to turn it on
then 1 for precise temp) Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

However I have a Crafty also, and the IQ meets it's vapor production evenly....
Though the crafty is convection, and the IQ conduction... so they should not be compared.
Nonetheless, other than the pure convection of the crafty, the IQ tastes and performs equally.

I too agree, recently got the IQ and i also can say it does meet my Craftys vapor production, right now i kinda like my IQ better because the taste is lasting longer

Hi There! I sent you a PM. Have you checked the flavor chamber cap? Sometimes that has to be screwed in all the way or else it will cause a pop-up. I've had it happen. Once I double check the chamber and screw it down it always does the trick. I know it feels like it's screwed in there but at times it's not and I've had to redo.

Press and hold all three buttons on the side of the device, while it is on, for about 10 seconds until it vibrates.

The flavor chamber cap screws in? Was that a change from earlier models? (Or, vice versa.) I don't have my IQ with me, but, I don't recall screwing in or out the cap. I've just hooked the tool though the hole and pulled up to get it off and pushed it down to put it on.

I'm with OldNewbie on the flavor chamber cap not screwing in unless you guys made a revision but i can assure you that mine is down all the way. After trying several more times to see what the issue may be, it has to do with that rubber piece between the flavor chamber and bowl chamber expanding when it gets hot enough pushing the flavor chamber up and popping my top open. I have cleaned it as best as i can but unfortunately there is not much you can do with the way it was designed to clean inside the area where that rubber gromet is.

I clean the inside of the flavor chamber with a qtip and Iso.. then run an Iso pipe cleaner through grommet, and wipe down outside exposed tip then wipe dry.
Me too, but stuff gets pushed to the sides most likely that would not come out unless i literally plugged both ends, filled with iso and shook it and i am not willing to take that chance.

I tried reading through the pages; there is just too many. Does anyone know if there are aftermarket dry herb or dosing pods for the IQ?

Is it true that the oil cans from the original unit fit in the IQ and if someone has experience with it does it work effectively? I'm not a fan of the spacers as I like to clean out my vape while it's still warm. For smaller loads I just pack it a bit tighter at the bottom of the chamber. Just looking for a better option.

With this vape the app actually works for me and I use it to turn on my is at a very low temp while in my pocket and I boost it and take a quick hit while walking to a public restroom. Honestly the boost is my favorite feature and with the app makes stealth hits on public a breeze!

As always 420 in the 204!

So i had cleaned it all last night for 1 more go of testing and no luck. I contacted Davinci support and was told it is definitely a known issue. Something to do with moisture getting in or around that gasket causing it to expand. Support has been really nice so far and said to send it in so they can take a look at it.

I had that same issue happen to me today, after unit got hot, the flavor chamber rose up and pushed the lid open. When pushing down on flavor chamber to ensure it was seated properly it was very spongy feeling. I fashioned a scraper tool out of some old steel shim stock I had and scraped out a huge glob of tar that was not visible from under that rubber seal. No more problems, working great now. Maybe I ought to make more of these, it's just a long thin .020" thick strip of stainless steel 3 inches long by 1/16" wide bent into an "L" shape. The bottom of the "L" extends about 3/16". Stick it down through the hole, sligthly angle it and rotate. Watch the globs come out. There was so much that I had to work a bit to get it all back up through the hole LOL.

@v.bow honestly I heard that the oil cans for the original Davinci fit in the IQ oven. Though it's not made by the unit and will be told not to try or do so. I just wanted to try and fail on my own since I haven't seen a video or thread on it. So I thought I'd be the one to do so.

Sounds like a very useful tool, can you post a pic?

Hey everyone, do you guys use 99.9 isopropyl alcohol.

i have been looking for 70 percent isopropyl alcohol but they dont sell it around here.
Grunge, can be found on Amazon for $16 US, for a 16 oz bottle. works like a charm especially on the silicon stuff, don't have to worry about it cracking.
See my cleaning video on youtube:

My app is not working and I cannot change the smart paths without it! Davinci said

First of all the Android app for the IQ hasnt' worked for as long as I can remember. Is it a compatibility issue with the app that we are working on the only thing I can suggest is to not use the app for the device works without it

So I spent $275 for a half working vape!!!! Could have got a basic $150 that does the same thing.

Any one find a fix????
you didn't change the battery did you? I have found that now that I have owned mine for a while now that it is very particulary about the battery. I have 3 other vapes that take the same batterys that all work great, they are the same battery's that goes into the IQ 3500mAh 18650.

Yesterday when I put in the battery for my IQ it was loose. I could hear it rattle inside. Any one else have this problem? I have three batteries and all three do it. Vap comes on but Then shuts itself off.
I put a folded piece of aluminum foil on the negative end and it works fine.

@Richard11 You may need to try a couple of times to get it right.
The battery door can be stubborn, but after the battery is inside, force the door shut tightly and slide the latch in place.
After reading your post, I tried mine, and when it was back together it rattled around in there as you described.
It took me a second and third try... third time was a charm, I figured out the procedure.

I'm sure there will be more soon. Next cleaning I'll snap some pics. Made another scraper tool from a 1 mm hex key or allen wrench or whatever y'all call it in your neck of the woods. Just cut the short leg down from 3/8" to 1/8" and ground it from the hex shape to a nice scraper blade. Dremel tools can be your best friend LOL. Just think of the stir tool provided by DaVinci, only longer so you can reach down into that space between the silicone gasket and ceramic chamber.
