Hex-Nail (HN-01) - RIP

@JigMelon I have found that I can do back to back dabs at any temps. I was never able to do this with the Liger as it needed a few minutes between dabs to get back up to temp. I show I am dabbing at 377 to 388 on the banger and I still blow clouds and get tons of flavor. The combo that was always difficult to achieve with the Liger =)

Once I found this tech and perfected it. I sold off all of my liger and halo gear and stocked up on bangers and coils

@Been Vapin Here are some pics of my gavel paired with my coil =)

Thank you for the photo album. These are the clips you use?

I got notification of a shipping label being printed yesterday (2/21), its for my second order # where I added a second coil, although I thought they were going to include that in one shipment. Regardless, it still shows Awaiting Item. I was second half of Round 2, like around #20 I think.

Congrats! Keep us posted.

Aand I'm in as well!
Can't have enough of these around. Love Skynet, rules my world :borg: :luv:
Next update must include a Blade Runner type of voice control and a glob-recognition cam: "increase glob size 20%, hm, further, further... Now, uptemp twenty degrees".

Btw, does anybody know if those Errlectric coil handles are any good for a non-Errlectric setup? :p

The handles and the stands work well with any brand setup, the stand I find to be pretty useful but the handle not really so much, its not tightly mounted so it hangs and flops, you could tighten the unit, which is just a metal band. I think the newvape handle would be waaaaaaaaaaay better.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was afraid of, for $10 seemed like a gamble, but at least it should work if you spend good money on it, right?

I had seen them, and even though the FP ones are very nice, 40$ a piece seems a little steep, I may need about 5 of them, adding the ~150$ in accessories I'm gonna "want" in a near future, it costs as much as a brand new FP setup...:ugh:
Maybe I'll just get 1 or 2...

On another note, there's a new email from Ava!!! We're on schedule

The bangers are really nice, but I recommend buying like 5 at a time. I've broken 4 in the past week. Should probably spend hours making sure the coil fits absolutely perfectly, as mine break from thermal shock while cooling every time

Yikes!
What bangers / coils are you using?

What nail were you using before the bangers? (looks like FP + Sic?)
Which is better?

FDC bangers and 25mm coil. It's probably my fault for not getting the fit exactly 100% P E R F E C T... but it's still frustrating to have it fit... then realize you want to fix it slightly, so you turn the heater off and the banger breaks in front of you as it cools down.

I was using the FP wraparound with SiC dish.

I think bangers are better, and I'll sell my WA once I manage to get a banger that works for more than 1 heatup/cooldown cycle but until then I'm spending almost all my disposable income on bangers instead of meds or anything remotely useful so I'm pretty annoyed.

Not to mention I now have nothing to dab off of in the meantime (again) and need to switch out my SH for the WA if I wanted to dab... first world problems right?

I have had good luck with my custom DC 30mm quartz enail banger. I believe the arm off the side of the quartz helps take the stress off the coil and maintains the angle. Have only done 10 or 11 heat cycles with no damage or cracking.

I do remove the coil the instant I turn off the heat. The arm allows me not to have to make the coil so tigh around the quartz bucket. So slipping the coil on and off is a little easier. Took the first couple heat cycles to bend/tweak the coil tension to where I like. Heating wise I don’t feel like I am losing any performance.

I have put a 30mm coil to my toro core reactor and that was nice with the crank cap. But the stress on the quartz freaks me out. So normally just torch it.

The ultimate set up for me would be Augusthaus 26mm Coil with a custom fitted to the coil DC quartz enail. 30mm I am finding a bit overkill.

The hardest thing to master is knowing when to continue to adjust the bangers fit to the coil. I spend at least 20 mins adjusting a coil to a banger and this means I am trying the fit from both ends to make sure one side is not loose, while the other end is tight. when I add my coil to the banger I make sure it is not angled at all. After I have added my coil arm support. I double check my fit has not gotten angled from messing with the coil arm. You will also want to make sure the sections of the coil are all even. I have had the middle portion be slightly out of alignment and it was causing the banger to feel tight when putting it into the coil.

I have only had 2 people out of the dozens I have shown this master it first try. Its a rough road to walk until you get the hang of it. But once you do figure it out. You will stop breaking the bangers and focus on enjoying the dabs =)

Few other things to keep in mind:

Tic noises coming from the coil when hot: This is usually from the coil being tight somewhere

Loose fit:
This can cause many a broken banger. You want the fit to be smooth but a little snug when cold. if it is too loose. It will only get worse once it heats up and expands further

Bumming me out everytime i get an alert about the hex nail thread, right around when i should be getting a new hex product shipping to me......and its yet more banger talk, as the banger thread sits idle....

anyways

has there been any setup step or a guide for the red queen yet? I know there was one for sky net before the main shipment wave hit but I don't think I've seen one yet. I find myself getting anxious as the end of february, the push back date for wave 2, nears

It seems like I have avoided a lot of hassle and futzing around by going straight to a Liger 3.0 and skipping the whole quartz banger phase entirely... ‍♂️ And titanium nails... lol, what a waste of money

I can’t wait to finally get this baby powered and fired up! ✨

Sorry, but having to read that one banger is chrashing after the other? Very expensive experience that would make me very tensely. For same reasons I refuse to buy heady glass.

Yes I did read @muunch was having some problems, but I saw more posts from happy owners who have converted from their SiC and Sapphire Halo's and Ligers to 25mm quartz systems.

I love seshing a heady pipe, it creates a very enjoyable vapor experience for me when puffing out of locally made handblown art.
