Bit of info about me. I am an aspie (Asperger’s syndrome) if/when I respond to you, read it like Spock wrote it.

I do not understand emotional responses in a discussion
Sometimes I envoke emotional response because of my bluntness. I have no idea how to react to this. I generally just become confused. :uhh: :hmm:

If I write something that seems abrasive I can assure you that it was meant to be taken literally. If I say “I wouldn’t do that” I’m not judging what you do, I don’t care what you do as long as you are not hurting others. I quite literally mean ‘I would not do that’.

I never think what I say is the only answer.

So if I respond in a way that makes you feel cranky

please understand I don’t mean to.
Had 3 roommates that were all on the spectrum. Easy group to live with haha. Good friends with one of em, the rest sorta wanted to go their own way.

Anyways I remember RBT mentioning starting this thread a few months ago, excited that it's really taking off! Seriously look forward to what all happens here! Keep up the good work everyone. Can't add anything when it comes to electronics but I'm sure able to recognize a practical and quality vape when I see one! Good luck everyone!

Vape swap shop
Got another idea that i am toying with. Looking at a 2nd hand lost vape therion squonk. Already got the 75c DNA board, battery holder and a large space inside the cool looking case where the ejuice tank is. :brow:

Take out the ejuice tank, 510 conector in the therion. I could chop the milaana body in two. Discard the battery end. I would then have a milaana heater in a wooden box. Insert into mod box where the 510 ejuice tank was. This would all depend on dimensions.

Any comment?

After measuring up - i dont think my plan will work. Milaana to wide. Going back to my original plan.

Might swap the DNA board out for the front of a evic mini as i have one knocking around.

Sorry for the delay folks... needed to get Milaana shipped out to retailers and Mi2 exotic wood completed. Just getting started packing to move RBT so that means the R&D closet is being cleaned out.

Due to shortages on a few key parts due to supplier delays, the OS project will kick off with the "elemental" builders. Meaning, those that just need heater material and hardware. These folks will get kits this week along with Master Builder @KeroZen . This puts the "science" types to work right away. @KeroZen kit will include a little of everything so that he can have general oversight here at the highest level.

Please remember as stated earlier, this kits are offered free but @RastaBuddhaTao will not offer warranty, support or be held liable. Again, Fire Marshall Mike's warnings on RBT Open Source Safety!

11 videos were made to both entertain this crowd as well as educate folks on RBT OS tech. Very little discussion of the concepts or folks intended application of them has happened to date. I assure you the materials will be making there way out over the coming weeks... so let's get some Highdeas flowing here?... @KeroZen your quiet as a mouse which is unlike you... I hope all is well :)

@RastaBuddhaTao has plans to explore the Figure 11 configuration ....

And the mime is one of my personal favorites... tuff crowd

Thanks @Boden.

Well the Master Builder kit is on the way to the Master. @KeroZen has been supplied a completed Zion and Milaana which he can tear part to see how it all goes together. This will allow him to "learn by doing" for 3 or 4 weeks while RBT moves and gets the new digs set-up. During that time the additional kits will be sent out. Any comm Kero and I have moving forward will be here on the thread.

Once Kero is up to speed and the kits have been sent out @KeroZen will be leading this effort. The ground rules have been discussed with Kero and he has been given a pretty open framework to work with. Basically, anyone working on convection vaporization using a mesh heater is welcome here. I am hopeful that by the end of the year I will have some free time to do some R&D and will share what I am up to here.

I am very much looking forward to a communal sharing of ideas and feedback. Let's just be safe, respectful and have a shit ton of fun!

Oh yeh... one more thing... @Stu has approved an RBT Open Source Contest! I was thinking of something like... Best design by 4/20. Best vape on 7/10. Voting by a panel of judges? I am open to what the rules are as long as it's simple. Ideas?

Prize TBD but will most likely be a vape package. A little friendly completion will keep things interesting. Thanks to all the vapor makers and innocent bystandards :)

Hey @KeroZen ... I sent you a package. You should have received tracking... let us know when it shows up. Let's get this party started, Right?

The rest of the kits will be shipped out once we get set-up at the new place. Things are going smoothly and the new space needs less electrical and construction than amticipated so... God's Speed

Due to lack of activity on this thread and in efforts to streamline and simplify @RastaBuddhaTao operations, the Open Source effort will no longer be supported. This thread contains all the information required if @KeroZen or others still want to participate. The videos covering the 2015 provisional patent will be deleted in several weeks. Good luck vapor makers!

Anyone know if the first batch of kits went out?

@oddjobold I doubt it, as I did not got a answer for my filled out form yet @RastaBuddhaTao

During that time the additional kits will be sent out.

Can't talk for anyone or everyone but I feel as though "lack of activity" is due to you not fulfilling your part of the collaboration. Seems as though people were waiting on you to get going on the Open Source .. fair enough though, it just sucks for people who had already shared/proved their credentials, filled your forms and were waiting on you / parts... @KeroZen , I guess that makes you the contest winner ! Lol

Bummer about this basically being shut down before it's started, but understandable. You can't do everything, and it makes more sense to focus on making a couple of great vapes than trying to support a bunch of different products AND a small unprofitable DIY community.

Hey all, want to share my search for the best form factor for a DNA75 mod to EDC w my Splinter.

J34LUGw.jpg

First, I started w the copper, because pretty, and this was the best I could find. It's heavy & beautiful, more of a party vape than an EDC.

FEgLim8.jpg

Then I went for as-much-in-as-little, and found the anodized green enclosure, which just barely fits a 26650.

kDC4IWp.jpg

Finally, I found the anodized gray enclosure, designed to snugly fit an 18650. I don't think I can get any smaller or more simple, it feels great in my hand, and it's just big enough in one dimension that I can put it down on the table and the Splinter is protected from scratches.

I feel done, now my only problem is I have too many mods. I'd been watching this thread, thinking I'd go for a SBS custom build next - my contribution to the open source project woulda been the smallest possible RBT all-in-one setup. Based on my single 18650 mod, I still think it could be done, it would feel much like a Milaana in your hand, just maybe 25% less width.

I love that little compact grey one too! Might you be willing to put some of these together and sell to some mod ignorant members here? :D

Hey folks... just wanted to let everyone know I am firing up the Open Source in the form of the Phat Ass Module for sale now on the www in limited quantities. If you had submitted to this project before please look for an email from RBT soon. If you are still interested in the project the PAM will be provided to you free of charge... even if you are in Canada.

10 - 20 units will be made to form a small trial fleet and see if interest grows as well as provide the Beta feedback. Each unit will come with a VI graph and resistance value. This will be fully unsupported other than the instruction sheet provided and a LubeTube video. The unit will be 10 day money back if unused and will not have a warranty.

I think this could be a fun and successful program that will help to solidify RBT's Customer Driven Development of simple, engineered vapor systems. More than likely the demand for this will be small but the value to the brand is worth it provided it can be managed with little effort as core business needs are more important as ever as RBT continues to try and get off the ground.

Excited to see what people Frankenvape up for Halloween.

Well, I am back to my world of Political Media Atheism (contact will be made with society through IG, YouTube and the www due to current business needs) Wishing all who decide to try their hand at th

I just gave @RastaBuddahTao a warning point for breaking the Be Nice rule, and I deleted @P.A.M.'s response since it simply encouraged a flame war.

This feud will not be tolerated here. I don't give a flying fuck what you people say about each other elsewhere but do not bring your shit here and drop it on our rug.
