Come back here just to mention the new Alfa doesn't get the battery life of the previous version (which was awesome,4x20mn using all settings), the battery died on me several times even if I checked there was no orange light before to load it.

And the taste.... this is difficult to say cause I tried a lot of others devices since the first Alfa, but I remember to find the Alfa's taste to be the best of all portable conduction vapes.... that's not the case anymore... taste seems more neutral to me for now... but it's subjective!

But it's a solid unit! it falls on concrete from 1,5m and it survived despite some marks and rebounds!

In my taste evaluations I only consider the low setting as the standard. Are you saying that the temperature has changed between the old and the redesigned units and now the low setting is at a slightly higher temp than the 1st gen units on low? that would be too bad. i really believe the volcano is the gold standard in taste and it only has a slight edge over my first gen alfa.

Hello,

just came here to express my love for the Alfa, what a fascinating little beast, amazes me every time I use it. True to be told, I've been using Ti woody more often (ritual factor and no hustle with charging), but when I go back to Alfa, I am stunned every time, taste is great on low and medium all thru the bowl,
no harshness at all and works amazing for micro-dosing when you put another screen on top. Alfa is so stealthy, it is so hustle free to use it in public (vapcap is a different story, for me, not usable outside).

When I am done with a session I keep holding Alfa in my hand, feels great and looks great (somebody in this thread made a comparison with DSLR, that is so true).

Haven't tried many other vapes, but with these two, I really don't need to.

Sorry for my bubling, but I must not and will not forget my first vap love :)

Sorry for the late reply... yes i'm under the impression the temperatures was raised up.... slightly... but my sessions are shorter, that's sure!

The small difference on the body make a huge difference in the feeling you get when you take a hit... I explain, my lips feel the protubring encasing of the vaporizer, on previous unit I got a smooth feeling since the encasing was different and didn't "protuber" close of the mp.. sorry for my bad english!

But this vape rest a very good contender and i agree with both @mccringleberry and @hujdimislav ; that vape is very good to chase flavors or to chase clouds!

My sentiments exactly, but I believe the only reason the Alfa "tastes better" than my Vapcap is because with the Alfa I'm taking nearly 0.2g worth of bud all at once, and w/ the Vapcap it's only around 0.05g, so the Alfa doesn't actually taste better, you're just getting more terpenes at once. Otherwise they both allow me to get a good pure taste of my herbs.
Of course the tradeoff is that if I want to stretch my consumption to ~0.05 per session like I'm supposed to w/ the Alfa, I have to make one Alfa load last 3 sessions, and the last session has no taste. With the Vapcap I get the full spectrum of taste w/ every single session, even if the taste deteriorates faster.

Wanted to give this neglected vape some deserved love:

From a Vapelife post:

"I experienced (the Crafty) and it's not so much better than the Alfa, I found a not remarkable difference."

From the DaVinci IQ thread here:

"I sent my (DaVinci IQ) back after a month for the Crafty. No regrets at all. The Crafty is miles better imo despite the lack of changeable batteries. The vape production is unreal."

Ive always thought of the IQ as a sort of next-gen version of the Alfa, where they designed a bunch of unecessary crap into it that just gives it more potential for something to go wrong. Overengineered perhaps. But swappable batteries for those who prefer that over performance.

Forgotten to mention an issue I have: after to charge the unit full I noticed the light was blinking red( while the unit was turned off) so fast you can't see it in the lightday.... to fix that I have to turn the unit on and off and the red light disappear. But it happens everytime I charge the Alfa. I think this is the cause of my unexpected battery fails. Is somebody else noticed this issue?

The chamber reducer would be game changing for the alfa... One of the reasons i don't use it much anymore is the amount of herb u need to use.
Half packing the alfa is a pain, and you then have to be super gentle with it to not dislodge the pack and end up with it all rattling around and not vaping well.

Snorcan, I like it. How much smaller is the diameter of the cork compared to the diameter of the Alfa oven? Is the cork so much narrower that you still have to use a screen on top of the load or do you only use the cork now? Id like to eliminate the screen because when you half pack the Alfa, removing the screen afterwards is a huge pain unless I keep both a toothpick and tweezers with the vape at all times.
Also, does the cork affect draw resistance?

Stay charged, my friends
No screen necessary... the benefit of the Centre pin is that it holds the load in place following a light tamping down. Not compressed too much or it will increase draw resistance.

@ALFA Vaporizers If the January sale starts early, how exactly is is different than the Christmas sale that is currently happening? They look identical to me.
all Afas are $89, before only the colour ones ware $89 and the ones with black body cost more.

Pax easyflow bubbler. I used a short piece of plastic tubing to connect the glass to the Alfa MP (theyre the same diameter, lucky me) and I have to hold the piece snug to the Alfa when vaping since its not very secure, but I dont mind. It can still be vaped with 1 hand. This really makes the Alfa a pleasure.

I got my Alfa today, and I love it. The silicone mouthpiece got a bit too hot for my liking though. I have some old ecig gear laying around. I grabbed one of my old delrin drip tips, and it fits right inside the mouthpiece like it was made for it.

It also works as a great packing tool for the bowl end!

Feel free to use this info however you see fit!

Thanks for making a great little vape!
