Im having this weird problem with my Omni XL, i cleaned it today and now the screen is not tight, so i made it all flat again and whenever i warm my vapcap the screen will "pop out" of its place..

So i thought maybe i broke the screen somehow, so i took a brand new TI screen and same thing is happening.

I have been using this for months, why does this problem all of the sudden appear now?

Is it possible for the tip to "slightly" widen?

I had the same problem, and just replaced the screen. When I examined it closely, I found it had a slight crack. Enough apparently that it wouldn't hold in place. BTW the first screen I replaced since last spring.

If a second screen doesn't work, I'd do a deep cleaning on the tip. It may be that the groove that holds the screen got dirty.

After looking and looking and looking, i now see the small crack, its so small though... Thanks for the tips
The new screen does fit, it was my fault the first time not putting it all the way down i think.

@armani, many prefer the ss screen over the ti screen because it's more ridged & less prone to becoming misshapen.

Have you tried both screens in a Ti tip? any noticable differents?

Here's another long hex stem with an integral condenser and brass tip socket. I found some small Blackwood pieces to use which seem to work better in this application. I used B20 bronze for the accents and Western Maple crotchwood for the middle.

it would be cool to see you using a VC cap as a a pick!

Hah, @Morty that would be cruel to the strings, the guitar, the vapcap and everyone's ears. Now, the pick on Milaana on the other hand. :hmm::shrug::rockon:

That is lovely.

@stark1 I do, but I do perform sit-down concerts in little arts centers, house concerts, museums and libraries. It's like a classical recital except more relaxed. Bars and pubs are great places for lots of musical styles, but not for solo, instrumental guitar IME.

The fins on the special edition Ti tip look sharp ! I hope we don't have to worry about cutting ourselves LOL.

Looks like some more of us may have the chance to get one of those sterling silver N64-looking mouthpieces !! I've been a little jealous ever since I saw Squiby's... :luv: Dynavap sure knows how to churn out captivating aesthetic and functional forms. As long as the company keeps growing, there will be many new and interesting possibilities that will develop in time. :buzz:

Sterling silver mouthpiece....yes! I have a Cane-GUN made of sterling silver and Ebony. I think it would match a sterling silver/ebony vapcap perfectly!
