Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

I don't know. Where you saw the glow is around the point the heater wraps the glass, the only time I've seen that is when the glass was cracked. I'm glad yours is not, but other than a crack or overheating (isn't yours a 220 unit?), I can't think of a reason. When you try the unit again, take note of any change in performance. With my unit, it was the higher heat and near combustion that alerted me to the problem before I noticed the glow.

I sold my backup EVO, which I now regret. I do still have my Cloud OG though, and that beast still works great.

Good luck!

OG Cloud... :( I miss it.
Yes, my units are 220.

I just turned it on and tried vaping, all seems to be OK, I vape herb on 12 only and it seems to taste the same :)
I'm already high and mighty.

Congrats on your purchase @Kikinglouie ! The EVO is my absolute favorite hard-hitting vape. It is a pleasure to use with or without water, with or without whips. I've connected it to 18 and 14mm WPs. I'm not really interested in a hydratube because of the EVO's modular design. Great airflow, clean air path, and not much on the vape itself to clean or maintain - beyond being FRAGILE.

I have to conceal my use, and setup/teardown of the EVO is simple.

A big caveat here, my memory is very rusty . . . I asked about the 220V because weren't there issues early on getting the heat regulation properly dialed in on those units? So I wondered if perhaps you had a regulator problem. In any event, "high and mighty" is what you're after so do your kumbaya thing as long as the EVO still sings.

Is the hydra bomb good? They gave it to me cheaper cause there was a flaw w the ingraving of the logo which I don’t care at all

You did good. The bomb uses a matrix-like perc which IMO moisturizes better than some others while having great action and being very smooth. This HT is sort of like a poor man's Mobius Ion (at less than half the price).

Just ordered my evo on the phone and she was so helpful, went ahead and added a hydra bomb. She also gave me the super bowl discount. I’m so excited !!!

That's great and you have every reason to be excited!

It's very efficient and effective!

If you haven't already checked them out already, there are lots of Vapexhale videos on their YouTube channel and many of them are worth watching giving good user tips and techniques.

I have that one and although I don't have any basis of comparison I like mine a lot, works well for me and is relatively easy to clean. Add to that what @oldiebutgoodie says, and it does sound like you've got a winner.

You know what, you are correct, my backup is not the OG indiegogo, the OG was not 220v and didn't work, but it was the replacement for the OG :)

Ok, 2 days later and about 3-5 of run time, I can confirm the EVO is fine!

I guess I'll always wonder what happened that caused the center to glow.

Have any of you seen the latest glass piece being offered by VapeXhale?

It's called the Spectra ....

To me it looks like it has great potential for breakage!

What do you folks think?

A collector's piece, I guess. And yes, risk, but that is true of many higher-end pieces. Recyclers all the more so.

While the 4-arm recycler is nice, the perc looks like more of a gimmick to me, I wouldn't expect a lot of action out of it.

But $400??? That puts the price of this piece close to Mobius, Toro, et al. I don't think so.

Hi, was just wondering if the EU versions have been updated/changed since they last had issues? Any EU owners have any experiences to share? Thanks!

I suggest you give vapefiend in the U.K. a call. From everything I've heard, he knows his stuff and he is straightforward, no b.s. He has been involved with VXL since they began shipping the 220v version. He will have the most current information.

Looks like my evo is dead. Green light will blink occasionally but it doesn’t seem like there’s any particular timing to it. We’ll see what warranty has to say, it’s only two months old. I’m pretty bummed though.

edit

All this experimenting and testing had made me forgot to post my original question which was, now the nails have been out for a while, do people still prefer the 2 cap method, sandwich in the elb or nails for dry sift or very melty hash?
Would people recomend not to do dry sift in the Evo, but refine it a bit more into shatter / oil and then use the nails with oil?
I´ve been getting some nice tastes and better clouds now with a very loose full pack, but still cut with the scissors, and 10 o` clock on the dial.

thanks for the tips folks,

I find dry sift and bubble hash work great in the baskets as long as it’s not really sticky (crumbly bubble hash that will crush into little pebbles works fine by itself in the basket as long as you don’t overload it). The nails combust hash, you can get some really huge hits but it will gunk up your bamboo and hydratube fast.

Hello! Newbie here and I had a quick question. I

have couple cartridges that I use with my 510 battery. But is there any way to use the content of the cartridge with the Cloud EVO? Is this the purpose of the Vapexnail? Do i just use the syringe to extract the content and load?

I understand fully how to use it with flowers, but less clear on concentrate.

Thank so much for your help!

...i think it's odd its a 14mm joint and not 18mm for natural evo mating... but i guess it's meant to be used with a whip and adapter...

Correct, they sell it with the EVO whip kit. From their sale page:
Please note that an Adapter Kit (18mm Female to 14mm Male with 24" hose) is included with each Spectra to connect to the EVO. Not pictured.
Too much $$$ for me. I'd rather spend the money on cannabis or another vape.

I agree with a lot of folks have posted here regarding the Spectra (and have learned a few things as well). I guess for some potential buyers, the aesthetics may outweigh any shortcomings.

Hello,
I'm wandering how to clean the cloud evo?
I put some highly questionable material through it - adulterated, not what it was supposed to be e.t.c.
Since then i haven't used it for fear of re-inhaling any of the oily gunk that the adulterated material produced...

I'm confused as to how to clean the glass stem.
I saw a post on FC were someone suggested attaching two balloons; one on each end and pouring some Isopropyl alcohol in the center/glass stem. Then giving it a shake around (the balloons stopping the alcohol spilling everywhere)

Is this a good way to thoroughly clean the glass stem? It's an all glass air-way so the alcohol wouldn't get in the electronics... - However i do worry that IPA might not mix so well with the material the balloon is made out of. I don't want to add more nasties into my cloud evo.

Is there a better way to clean the center tube? I really want it sparkling clean, as the stuff i put through it was very bad - hurt my chest for several days...

Thanks for any tips.
