iHeat 510 Heater Cartridge

If God is the answer, then the question is wrong
Ever notice that most popular vapes threads are littered with issues. In other words, the threads are huge, but lots of the comments are complaints, problems, issues, people searching for solutions. Not this thread, just pure sharing of information.

I would rather say “drama” in place of “issues”, otherwise I agree: never seen drama in alan’s thread. This may be due to him being a very cool guy but also to quality of his service/products

One exception is vapcap, huge thread and very little to no drama

I misspoke. Drama is truly what I meant to say. I know there must be quite a few threads /vapes that are like that.

who can expose his thought on vapor quality? i'm studying and i can buy only one vape, i'm thinking about this, or the boundless tera, i think this gonna be intersteng and cheaper but also a great deal if the quality of vapor is top notch. my questions are the same: the bowl size, vapor production (how rips this thig?), vapor quality for who wants to taste all different strain flavour profiles, and hoe many fully vaped bowl you can vape with one charge?

I can't answer your query as I don't have one yet. But if I'm correct, the waitlist is about year + long so your decision has to take the wait time into consideration. Please pipe in anyone if I'm wrong on the waitlist time.

The only dramatic forum on FC is the fucking Portables --> Upcoming and Unreleased section.

Interesting observation

I have fallen in a drama pit thread in the past and I have the impression some of drama is created in vitro by manufacturer himself;
as any old dick knows: any bad advertising is still an advertising

Heard from the man himself day before yesterday. The wait time is 20 months if you get on the list today. I'm 5 months in.
In his email, Alan sounded excited for the possibilities that could happen by the time my name comes up. :D

If you've been swapping it back and forth between mod boxes it's possible that you have loosened the connector. The centre post on the bottom looks like a slotted screw head. See if it's loose and if so, tighten gently. I wouldn't put too much force on it, but making it finger tight should be okay.
Many Thanks @pakalolo I was in trouble with Tcr with resistance changing. Try to tighten the hex screw on 510 pin BAM TCr work again. Resistance staysat 0.37 I'm yet searching my sweet spot. Let you know when i'll get it.

if you or anyone get in trouble with TCR again, pakalolo also mentions this in splinter thread. It might be relavent to iHeat too.

You might know this already but for the benefit of Splinter owners who don't, the Splinter was never intended to be run in any mode but power. TCR mode doesn't actually control the temperature of the Splinter because it doesn't know the temperature of the Splinter. Instead, it's measuring the change in resistance and then applying an algorithm to vary the power in order to try to keep the temperature readout on your box mod close to whatever you've set.

Hi dude! Pakalolo just amended his post you quoted. I forgot to insert his quote, and I'm having difficulty editing from my phone. Sorry. I'm an idiot. Easiest for me to add as an IMG.

Welp my name is up as I expected, just about a year and eight months since I was added to bottom of list after receiving my HI. Back then thought I might be getting a steel core HI (mine is glass) or maybe even a GTV, but I guess now I need to get an IH for myself, huh?

I've got mixed feelings about the Witcher, but is there anyone using an iHeat on the Pico? Might like that one if it can fit with battery cap, but I dono diameter room... Need to pick wood too

Go for HI stainless core,it is great for real microdosing through the mini stainless roasting tube

What is GTV for?

Yeah I might just do that and skip the iHeat for now, we'll see... GTV I don't even know dude lol just another crazy invention in Alan's roster, mentioned and pictured in the HI thread. I don't know if many or any have been sold though...

I will tell you better about InstantHeat after I receive it (which is in transit BTW :) ) but I for sure recommend HeatIsland stainless steel core: the most satisfying microdoser I tryied, delivering a small thick puff from a tiny amount of flowers

Nice, soon! Yes I do remember doing that in my Underdog way back when, these days I use portables and have no trouble microdosing with the various models, but yeah that was fun. Maybe I will do just that, but iHeat is tempting too. Waiting for a wood and price list now

Can I ask you @KeroZen if my settings makes any sense for you?
Here they are: TCR280, 30W, 400°F and coil resistance start at 0.29 and stabilize at 0.41 after a few seconds (I noticed a fast draw will decrease this n° while hitting the device and slow draws make it higher (0.43)

They work very well but I think t° are slightly underestimated, I rarely (or never) hit the t° protection and start to hit the device at 330 for low t° hits and at 360° at high t° hits.

I use this settings since 2-3 weeks with great success, just stir once per load!

IME the steel tips for the HI really are more of micro micro dose.... but if you're happy with a normal sized log bowl and are more interested in portables, you're literally ONLY missing out on a smaller sized bowl and using a couple volts less to reach max temp.... AND the glass core does have SLIGHTLY better flavor (barely, but it's there).

Please do inform us all about this "GTV" thing if you end up getting it!

That said though, the tiny bowls are STUPENDOUSLY (studiously?
Really?? lol stupid phone) convenient and i do miss them.... but not enough to order another 12v adapter nor usb power adapter from Amazon... so again I HIGHLY recommend following you're interests procuring an entirely NEW toy, but I do honestly greatly prefer the steel core vs glass core (functionally speaking).... only because of ss tips.

There's only about two volt differences and ever so slightly faster heat up time of S.S. core is seriously really very marginal best... they both heat up pretty dang fast.

HI, IH has arrived!!

It is a very nice object, small and lightweight, almost ethereal but yet feeling solid strong

Will report after some use but I can say I got a nice roast already (after 2with no vapor or immediate hotspotting kind of) even if not perfect yet:
Wattage mode @28w on a smoant charon, using for bowl the glass tube inside the wooden stem (narrower than 18mm stem, the same I use with HeatIsland)
i understand I am a light weight as the amount I like to vape makes a too thin layer with the 18m stem and I would need to almost double the load to get a similar hokey puck as described by @Bravesst, otherwise it is similar to a pizza which i love to eat but doesn’t work the best in full convection IMO

After mastering the smaller load I will try full 18mm one as experimenting @these levels would knock me out very fast

Very glad customer, I agree with others who said it can perform like a log on demand and portable

Almost forgot, after 3bowls wood was slightly warm, way cooler than my logs, no need for an heat sink with my kind of use. blackwood is back in wish list for next round

Is there some I-heat user with Blackwood units who get smell issues?

I read in the Nomad thread (a very promising vape!) the fact some users reported to get a distinctive wood taste with their Blackwood I-Heat.... personnaly I get one made of Blackwood (body+stem) and taste is pure and it doesn't smell anything. My HGL log is Blackwood too (as well the stem) and it doesn't smell/taste Woody at all.... as well my Blackwood/olive wood DLX...

I like this wood for the sleeker look.... match very well with all this black vaporizers!

you could fill the micro-dose that you usually use then put some Hemp fiber or cotton to "fill the bowl" and keep your medicine from blowing around in the stem.

Was fortunate enough to land an I heat from the good @Vape Dr. Be careful what you ask for in the classifieds. ;)
The I Heat has been growing on me since getting a new mod box recommended by the local ecig shop guys. They said the Kaos Z has a good chip and the build reputation of Sigelei is up there. Decent price, so I pulled the trigger. I figured worse case I end up using it in power mode, but at least it has two replaceable cells compared to the one built in cell unit I previously tried with the I Heat.
I was pleasantly surprised that the Z has been kicking ass in TC mode with the I Heat.
There are several built in TC settings, so I started with the SS. Nothing happening up till 470°f. Next setting is Ti1, warming around 420°f, that's no good. Thinking I'm heading to the TCR mode, I give this Ni200 setting a try. Warm vapor at 350°, oh yea, on to something, 365° I'm getting nice clouds, continue stepping up 5° at a time up to 395° and I'm now getting consistent toasting and no charring or dark spots to speak of with pretty full extraction @ 400°f.
So it may be off a tad, seems like this is about 420° on the Tubo, but this Ni200 setting is consistent. Which is all I need.

I did do a stir half way through and I rotate stems out of habit, since the solo days rotating the stem around those 4 air holes.

The lights on the Z can be turned off for stealth, change colors, pulse and other unneeded crap. Runs on 2 18640s and 3 bowls have barely made a dent, has magnetic battery door.
Here's some pics of my I Heat setup:

Abv after stepping up to 400° , many hits. Just lots.
