Discontinued Ghost MV1

lazylathe

Almost there...
Less than half on temp 5 gives me an dense, flavorful, potent 1 hit. Keep up the testing!!!

I just always forget to leave my bud out to dry out completely...
If it is slightly too moist the experience plummets... This is it's one downfall imo.
A vape should be designed to vape material stored at the correct humidity effectively and efficiently.
I feel that most are designed around a smoker, who likes slightly drier material that burns more evenly.

All the bud i buy i between 58% and 62% humidity.

Just downloaded the Android version onto my Samsung S8.
No issues with the download or connecting to the Ghost.
Update of the firmware was simple and quick!

Whatever voodoo they have done this time, it now works even better than before!
Using the lowest temp, 170C, I half filled a crucible and loaded it up in the Ghost.
First hit was cool for about 12 seconds and then it got slightly warm as the vapor just pumped out!
The amount overwhelmed me! Flavor was very good as well!
3 more hits at that temp with degrading flavor but still nice clouds.
Bumped it up to 200C for the last hit and just got a small cloud...
ABV was medium brown.
Surprised it handled a half filled crucible so well!

More testing required!

I'm having a basic issue...
It won't let me in! Used the password and email address ghost have for the account on the website.
I'm sure it's the same right?
Or do I have to set it up again?

Read up a little friend :)

I had the same issue, I basically just kept resetting my password then uninstalled the app on my phone and re-installed the app and it let me in.

If your password works on the website then it's the right password and the app is just confused.

I have no idea... Mine installed perfectly the first time and connected and updated all without any issues at all.
No password issue either...

I just have consistency issues with sessions...

Changed the password many times now and uninstalled many times and still nothing :(

@junny89, just for the heck of it, try entering another email account. If not, uninstall, reboot your phone, reinstall, then try another email account. Follow the MV-1 thread on Vape Life forum for up-to-date doings.

Its just physics, mate. If you got a vape that 'worked' with moist herb, I would speculate that it did so after first evaporating that water content and getting your herb to a dry enough state.

Just my :2c:

Exactly!
Just take a minute to think about it though...
Quality herb is stored at 58% to 62% humidity. I want to be able to bust some herb off and vape it like that. My Showerhead and many other vapes can handle it in that state perfectly.

Now I am supposed to take perfectly cured herb and leave it out for 30+ minutes to dry out before I can vape.

For me it does not add up....

A technologically advanced vape should be able to handle the moisture content and still perform well.

As always just my :2c:

@lazylathe There's the way things are, and then there's the way you want things to be. The distance between those two points measures your discomfort. Maybe selling the MV1 to someone who doesn't mind drying the herb would be a solution for you? BTW, that person wouldn't be me.

But I've found that I can rarely change the way things are, so it's much better to accept things as they are.

That's my :2c:

Six or seven weeks ago I was on the waiting list for the MV-1 and then someone posted a picture of their complex latex gasket, supposedly out of the air path, completely covered with residue. I canceled my pre-order. What concerned me was cleaning the latex assembly, as alcohol can cause some latex to deform or shrink or more rarely crack, none of which I wanted to deal with. As I hear about other issues being ironed out of an admittedly new device, I was wondering about this. I've been an early adopter of too many things that have ended up burning me. I'm still interested in buying an MV-1. Now that there's more daily users, can anyone tell me of this is really an issue? Or should I wait for the next iteration? Thanks.

Polarbearboy...there is no latex in the MV1. Do you mean silicone? If so that is very different.

Also, the picture you are talking about.....is probably the most mis-understood picture of the MV1. It was not with anything close to normal use....and was actually of the upper silicone gasket after the user tried to make it dirty as possible by using it (with concentrates too) for extended periods without cleaning it. Also, more importantly about that picture...the buildup was not 100% from normal use...it was so dirty around the area outside the normal path....because when taken apart...some of the residue from the bottom of the metal heat sink just above the silicone gasket touched that part and got stuff on the outer edges of the silicone piece.

I wish that posting with the picture would have BIG ASS RED FONTS above it explaining this clearly. So unless you read what the author/poster wrote about that pic....easy to get the wrong idea of what that pic really is.

Actually you only have to worry about possible silicone tastes.....as I did because I am hyper sensitive.

Where were these determinations made about the picture? Was it a part of a thread on another forum? Did the person who took the picture agree with the explanation or state those facts when the picture was posted? (In other words, do all sides agree BARF should be added to the pic, or just the manufacturer and/or supporters.)

Yes, it was on VL forum.

The poster of the picture explained this all (he was trying to see if he could basically plug it up or to see how dirty he could get it. But I think a following post after his picture one, filled in some details shortly after. It is just that the info is hard to follow back then because info was spread all over so many diff threads...this was during a period where they did not have as much organized threads as they do now.

I recall seeing the pics after I had used mine a lot and thought to myself.....how the hell did he get that much build up....but I do not use concentrates like he does.....I just use some kief every now and then.

I do not want to attempt to even go find that thread...but it was from the well known member over there who I think posts just a little over here. Dazza is his handle.

I can not find it but also recall the same exact details of the original posts, with the user trying to make it as filthy as possible.

So I was able to connect my MV1 to the app and update the firmware and I do think it makes the vape work better all around.

It reminds me a lot of the FF2 update, not revolutionary but still a very good improvement :)

@LabPong in my personal experience with pretty mild use of my MV1 I do notice some buildup and retained smell in the silicone pieces that occurs naturally.

Especially with any concentrate use the crucibles stain a lot and residue from the lid does get smooshed onto the silicone.

For me it's not a huge deal but I am one who is pretty ocd about being able to clean my Vapes to like new status.

I can definitely see the silicone being a bit annoying to clean and the fact that it likes to absorb smells is not something I like.

Jay, I wish the silicone would of absorbed all I vaped though it....probably a few hundred crucibles worth. It did dissipate from its normal silicone smell somewhat....but not enough for me to keep the MV1 unfortunately. I could not get over the silicone taste. It was super easy to clean the top silicone piece because it is easy to take in and out, but not the bottom. I usually cleaned the heatsink out every 6-10 crucibles. I did get pretty tired of cleaning the crucible lids off every load full....

I am hoping Ghost comes out with a silicone tasting version on the second go.
