I would like to know how many draws fcrs are getting before device goes from full charge to two lights. I am trying to understand my seemingly high battery power consumption.

I take relaxed, 10 second draws (couldn’t clear it in 1-2 hits if I wanted to). 3-4 draws at A1, 3-4 at A2, 4-6 at A3. Three sessions takes me solidly into 2 lights and it gets a little erratic at that point. So, 30-40 draws?

I’m continuing to love this thing. My Crafty must have a nice layer of dust by now. My Prima gets occasional use. My two GH’s get less use than the Prima. It’s MV1, Firewood 3 and Firewood 4 for the win.

New unit came in last night. Charged it all night. The misses and me went skiing today. Took some rips before leaving. Out of the box, lower amber light setting, I got about ten nice hits in a row. No stirring. Great flavor. Not quite as nice of flavor as a Firefly 2, but really good. Way better than Pax, better than a Solo, just a notch below a Evo. Lasts much longer than original unit.

Vapor density was quality. My chamber was loosely, slight over, filled. No complaints at all. No stirring and vaped very even.

Did one more chamber. Same results. I did mildly burn myself on a hot lid, but I was impatiently swapping out chambers.

Brought it with me and thought about taking it skiing. But once the skis and boots and jackets were on, this thing is just too big to take out of the car or home or backpack if you're doing anything moderately active.

That said, it medicated very well and is very effecient.

Right before skiing, I bumped it up to the highest amber light setting. Nice rips.

Both flavor and vapor is much better than my original. Doesn't turn popcorn nearly as quick or as bad.

The thing likes to hit all your chamber relatively quickly. I think if the chamber cools down, the herb doesn't finish out as well and it can struggle on vapor production.

While i haven't noticed the charring that the original was plagued by, one thing is that not every session is always great. The unit is a bit temperamental, and I haven't quite figured it all out or how to make it a consistent powerhouse.

By comparison, for example, an Evo you can just use whatever amount of material with whatever grind, at whatever temperature, and it's always a great session. This unit, in contrast, requires more attention to detail when using it for good to great results.

On a positive note, I think once it's packed right and on a good setting, use is very easy. So it can be a very social device if the person packing the unit has it down. The vibration to let you know it's ready is very nice. I sometimes do like to hit it before it vibrates, as someone else mentioned, seems better results that way. The easy draw is awesome. Battery life lasted at least 12 chambers and all day, so it is good. I didn't even check it all day or when I put it on the charger.

But the noise it makes is pretty bad. It's not so bad if you're watching a movie, or listening to music, but if you're laying in bed with your wife, it sounds terrible and is a geeky sounding putoff. It looks terrible. A Pax 2 "look" should be the goal, as this thing is not an incognito or even decent looking device.

That's my updated 2 cents. Definitely better than the units from September. Not a portable Evo. But excellent flavor even on a higher setting, for a bit. Good clouds. Easy draw. Can easily see this being people's go to or favorite vape. I'll have it in the lineup and I am curious how much I'll use it in the next few months.

Final thought is that the crucible holder is probably worth it if attempting use on the go...

Well, my unit was on par at best for the super bowl. It's just finicky and isn't consistent. The best rips I've had were the first day. I really dislike having to set it up just right to get great results.

I'll keep working on it.... It's way better than the September unit, but if it doesn't get into a grove it will get dust on the shelf.

I'm assuming the new unit I received just last week has updated firmware. Emails from the company allude to if not say this explicitly.

It does perform better than my original un-updated unit from September.

I do have an Android.

Ghost has worked its way into my life, pretty much replacing my VC for immediate medication, ease and discretion. I was at first intimidated, thinking I had to learn morse code to operate it. I could not have been more wrong. This is so easy and simple once you understand how to navigate it.

It does plow through exponentially more material than my VC and both are fabulous for traveling... but wife hates the torching sound so I have been leaning on ghost.

It is not hype. It is a chest bruiser. I love it.

Had a Firefly 2 v. MV1 session tonight. Short answer, draw.

Longer answer:
1. Taste: firefly 2
2. Draw resistance: MV1
3. Cloud size: firefly 2
4. Number of draws per chamber: MV1
5. Ease of use: firefly 2
6. Longer time between cleaning: mv1
7. Ease of cleaning: firefly 2
8. Battery: mv1
9. Stealth: neither, although firefly 2 is liked more by my wife, based on purely aesthetics.
10. Which one I'm more likely to reach for firefly 2.
11. Which one I want to work and keeping trying: mv1
12. Draw resistance: mv1, yes this gets counted twice!

VC is the Dynavap Vapcap. It's a small vaporizer, normaly heated with a torch lighter. However, induction is even better and @Pipes, well, he builds them Induction Heaters.

oh wow nice! i know what it is now, i wanted one! but the torch lighter put me off.
Any pics of these induction heaters?

So should I send my MV1 back for a replacement?

I got one of the units that was sent out originally and I had issues with uneven abv, charring, and inconsistency.

I've been waiting for the Android app to be released to see if that fixes my issues.

I know Ghost is continually sending out new cooling units but others mentioning that their replacement MV1 works better than the original right out of the box has me wondering if they made other changes :sherlock:

The firmware updates resolve many of your issues. But, as you say, without the app you can't update the firmware. When I got a replacement unit, it needed the firmware update as well. Personally, I'd look for a friend with an iPhone first. If you can update the firmware, you might find that you don't need to waste time on a return.

We are very pleased to confirm that the new Ghost App, complete with the latest version of Firmware, is now finally available for Android users on the Google Play Store and can be found by searching for "Ghost Vapes"

The App will enable you to upgrade your MV1 to the latest version of Firmware and will give you a far greater degree of control, with the ability to customize temperatures on favorite levels 4&5 and to operate your device without having to rely solely on the mode button.

We are also planning a range of exciting new features through a series of future updates.

A video and simple user guide to downloading and using the App will follow shortly but the App navigates you through the entire process.

Many thanks to everyone for your patience while we completed this important work.

The Team @ Ghost Vapes"

Almost there...
Just downloaded the Android version onto my Samsung S8.
No issues with the download or connecting to the Ghost.
Update of the firmware was simple and quick!

Whatever voodoo they have done this time, it now works even better than before!
Using the lowest temp, 170C, I half filled a crucible and loaded it up in the Ghost.
First hit was cool for about 12 seconds and then it got slightly warm as the vapor just pumped out!
The amount overwhelmed me! Flavor was very good as well!
3 more hits at that temp with degrading flavor but still nice clouds.
Bumped it up to 200C for the last hit and just got a small cloud...
ABV was medium brown.
Surprised it handled a half filled crucible so well!

More testing required!

I just tried to download the app and I got nothing but crazy issues

When I first downloaded the app I tried to login and got an error saying my password was incorrect. I logged into the website just fine, ended up resetting my password 5 times trying to login each time and got the same error each time while that same password worked on the website.

I then uninstalled the ghost app, reinstalled the app and I was finally able to login with my actual ghost account.

Now when I try to pair to my mv1 in the app, the app crashes to an android error screen saying "GHOST keeps stopping" right after I hit "Continue" to begin pairing.

I would consider myself extremely computer savvy and nothing's working :bang:

So essentially I'm unable to get app usage or any firmware updates at all as of right now... :(

Less than half on temp 5 gives me an dense, flavorful, potent 1 hit. Keep up the testing!!!

@jay87, are you keeping up with the MV-1 thread on the Vape Life forum. If not, you should.

I wasn't before but I'll check it out.

To summarize what I see there now:

There is an issue with the android app authenticating users who haven't logged out in a long time, meaning a correct email/password combo can be seen as invalid by the app and not the website. The fix seems to be just keep trying... reinstall the app maybe?

And there's a few other people saying they're having issues pairing as well so I guess I'll see when the next update comes out...

Just a thought. Turn Bluetooth off then open up the app. It will ask to turn BT on and may get you logged in. No guarantee to do anything just something I would try.
