Could any longtime Nano veterans answer a couple questions for me?

1. Does choosing one type of wood (maple, cherry, or walnut) over another impact the overall durability of this vape?

2. Under a moderate amount of use, and not running it 24/7, what kind of average lifespan can be expected?

Thanks
Crack Talk:

After making Nano's for 4 years now. (WOW) I have not noticed a statistical difference between cracking on Maple, Cherry or Walnuts. I can't really can't tell when they are going be prone to cracking while manufacturing them or with age. Most seem to crack within a year if they are going to. There have been a few that are over 2 years old that suddenly give up, but very few, and I have covered them all under warranty. That said, Maple burls NEVER crack. I believe it's because they have a random grain pattern so they can expand and contract as a unit and not along a single weak grain line.

Cracks will not affect the performance of the vape with the exception of a crack that starts at the corner of the AC plug. This usually requires sending the vape in for repair as the plug may come loose.
Checking of the wood is different from a crack and will usually arrest itself and adds character.

PS: Shout out and thanks to High Times magazine for choosing the E-Nano as one of the top-10 desktopvapes of 2017! Maybe now log vapes will start getting the respect they have so long deserved.

Congrats @ACE OF VAPE ! Enjoy the Fame! ;D

Most people I preach to about the nano don't really even know what a vaporizer is, but I do my best to lure them i- I mean educate them on the topic, of course!
And over here, they need the converter too, which seems to bug some people. Guess you can't make 'em all happy! (Or maybe could, with a 220V Version? :D )

Oh another thing Andy: Have you ever made nanos from "Scots Pine" (Pinus Sylvestris)? It's my favorite type of Tree, the Wood looks so nice and red. Any Idea if the Wood is any good for vapes?

I saw a really nice, small, double-chamber bubbler/pipe, for cheap. Once I get my paycheck I think I'm gonna grab that, it would be ideal for my nano. And it can even stand alone.

No, I've never tried pine, and I've never seen Scots pine stateside. I do however make vapes for people who send in their own wood, I just can't guarantee they won't crack either because I have no experience with the particular species and/or I have no knowledge of the time and method of drying woods that I don't source myself.

Do you have a vacuum oven?

http://www.hardwooddistributors.org/blog/postings/what-is-thermally-modified-wood/

You can do a older stabilization process by boiling or steaming the roughed blanks one hour at boil per inch of thickness. Then bag dry as usual. Key point is stress relieving the lignin by softening with heat then allowing it to cool in a stress free state.

With steaming I’ve never had one crack while drying.

I like to do all of the things.
So, I've been quietly enjoying my nano for a few weeks now..and yup...very pleased with the purchase. Now granted, I used to mostly smoke my tobacco-mixed spliffs in the past, but I would also occasionally share other people's bowls and other vapes. And I've never tasted the herb like this before! Other vapes always had a...I can't describe it...a slightly mechanical or plasticky taste to them? With the nano, I've gotten all "whiskey connoisseur" with the buds now, detecting all the little subtleties in flavor. I was blessed with a nice assortment of about 6 different strains that I've been switching between.

Also, I thought I was kind of a micro-ish doser before (well, for a joint-roller at least), averaging about .26G a day. Whereas now it's been more like .08G a day. I usually just pack .02 or .03 at a time, because it seems like the best economy of flavor, since the first 1-3 pulls are always the best taste regardless of bowl size...although I haven't really went above .05G, so maybe .1G is a whole different ballgame? But on weekdays, I rarely have more than 2 packings and space them out, since I generally opt for smaller pulls over big lung busters. So I have my 3 good pulls and then come back later for "top ups" with the up to ten less flavorful pulls that follow. But I like that I just don't crave "for just one more" like I did with spliffs too. Making me glad I quit smoking everything for about 3 months prior to taking up vaping.

In use, I've found my temperature sweet-spot to be around 6-6.5 depending on how "smoky" I want things (usually not very). But have also found that the first hits at 5 are just pure flavor, which no visible vapor..which can be nice sometimes too. I tried the glass-screened stem a bit, but didn't like the crumbs hitting my tongue. I generally only will use it when I'm doing whole buds, then break it into my "go-to" which is the long stem. Love that one! Haven't even tried my GonG yet because I've been preferring the smaller hits and don't want anything coming between me and the flavor...but I'll try it eventually.

My nano sits atop my bar, so it's nice to come over and sit down on a stool to enjoy...but the only thing I dislike about the unit is the placement of the heat dial. I know it was mentioned a lot throughout this thread in the past, but it really IS in that awkward middle zone of just far enough away to droop and want to fall off my bar. So I've tried to anchor it down behind that point and that helps a bit.

Overall though, shipping woes aside, I'm very happy with the nano! (as a small bonus, in these winter months, it also makes a nice hand warmer too!)

All of a sudden my enano stopped working. The light comes on but no heat whatsoever. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Since the light went on with your nano it might be your heater. I too think you should get a hold of the company (Epicvape) and get an RMA. It’s a bummer because you will be without it for a couple weeks. I use my Enano the most of any of my vaporizers. That’s why I have two and I have a Woodscents. I won’t be without a log vape.

I'm very sorry to hear it's not heating up. It's definitely not a great way to start off the week. If you haven't sent me an email already make sure to head over to the Contact Us page to either check out the FAQ, Request an RMA, or Submit a ticket so I can get your Nano back up and running ASAP!

Just had the best DAB of my life! MAX temp, 0.03g rosin, and I still can't get the flavour off my smacker! Still trying to figure out how to prevent waste on anything larger than 0.05g. Too much cotton or hemp fiber wick and airflow is negatively affected. Also getting browning of cotton that isn't abv but "scorching".

@Summer has that chart been blessed by EpicVape? Just because based on the 30c increase in temp per number, that would make temp 9 280c and 10 310c?

And why is it missing 9 and 10? Based on an older dial?

Pretty sure max temp is 260c?
