Wow ... in my post I mostly came to your defense, saying I'm a firm believer in modern medicine as well, but also cannabis, and therapeutic and holistic approaches ... out of that, all you take is you attack me for trying to offer an empathetic point of view to those who have been mistreated in many cases (even just by the way they have been made to feel) by the medical establishment. I'm not sure if you were calling me childish and foolish, or if you were calling those who have those opinions childish and foolish, but either way man, shows a serious lack of empathy.

All I was doing was suggesting a potential explanation as to why many cannabis users are so defensive and anti-modern medicine ... I didn't even agree with it, although I 100% empathize with it and have felt that way personally, and justifiably so as certain doctors and psychiatrists certainly have treated me poorly and not giving me proper credit for my experience, education, nor feelings. (luckily my current primary doctor, as well as psychologist, are absolutely wonderful and helpful and not this way at all, but instead thoughtful, understanding, up-to-date, and open minded)

Anyways, I know I shouldn't let online stuff bother me, and I generally don't, and done is done, and all is forgiven man, but this one really bothered me.
I don’t know what you are so taken back by. I didn’t say anything bad to/about you. I said that people who have a grudge against modern medicine because of the anti-cannabis stuff, are foolish. That’s true. It is foolish for someone to let emotion and a hurt ego get in the way of logic and science.

I agreed with you’re stance about both cannabis and modern medicine having importance. I only quoted the part that I did, because I know some people here have that mentality.
@JCat i'm surprised you don't remember some of that poster's other threads? Nothing new here... don't let trolling get to you bro, you're better than that. Perhaps now you will appreciate why Krazy and I bailed.

Are you referring to my comments about it not being a good idea to drive while buzzed, my thread about professional doctors’ opinions about Cannabis (which got bombarded with anti-modern medicine nonsense), or my comments about how the term “microdose” (which has medical standards) is often misused as a way to describe a typical, small dose.

Perhaps, you mean my comments about not everyone’s Cannabis use being “medical”, or the fact that the term “medicating” comes across to most people as a stoner’s way to clean up the phrase “getting high”/“smoking”/“vaporizing”/etc.?

That may be true, but it’s foolish and childish.
That may be true, but it's a really blunt statement with no explanation, so it easily comes across as offensive.

It makes sense for personal experiences to reduce trust in modern professional treatment. From my experience, psychiatrists ask really broad questions. Almost like they don't care about actually finding out what's wrong with me. Misdiagnoses happen a lot? I don't like hippie mumbo-jumbo, appeal to nature etc. either.. but it's not bad here

I had to look back to see just how much and how often, lol. Classic logical fallacies, broad generalities, and troll tactics. Especially the victimhood in this case. After learning that I used to be a T the "forgiving" me for my "lack of empathy" is by the book in that regard, lol.

As well as the going after people (me) that say they are "out" in order to draw them back in, lol. It worked!!

So: from here on out I'm simply not replying to him at all in this thread.

Fair enough. I’ve just seen people (often the same people) trashing modern medicine over and over, so it gets tiresome sugar coating things.

If increasing our life expectancies over 200% isn’t enough proof that modern medicine is wonderful, nothing will be.

As for psychiatry... a lot of it IS trial and error, in regards to finding which medication works best for every individual, as there are so many idiosyncrasies between every patient. If they don’t seem like they care about you, though, you might just have a crappy doctor. Try another. A lot of people go through a bunch of therapists/psychiatrists, before finding one they like.

What are you even talking about at this point? Trying to get the last word before saying “I’m out” to prevent a rebuttal is laughable.

What logical fallacies or broad generalities have I made? I asked you before, to specifically quote me on these and you couldn’t so you repeated the same statement without any backing. If anything, it’s those who fall victim to selective bias and confirmation bias after spending too much time on forums about Cannabis or other natural remedies, who are spreading misinformation here.

Also, why are you saying “forgive” and “lack of empathy” in quotes, as if I said anything about that?

%$^& it!! I pulled that from someone else's post for which I apologize and why I'm posting again.

Agree on that.

As for psychiatry...
Back to agree to disagree, lol. My background is psychology rather than psychiatry. In my experience while meds are magic for some they are over much over prescribed.

And that their IS a logical fallacy , lol. Refusing to engage must mean you are "right", right?

Feel free to have won.

mod note: edited to fix quoting

I do, but trying to give everyone a chance and the benefit of the doubt, as I do see his point as well--getting harder though!

Thomas Szasz wrote "the myth of mental illness" way back in 1961 as well as many other titles. Just google his name and take a look at his view on drugs, addiction and mental illness. His firing line debut made that intellectual snob, Buckley, reconsider his own view of drug abuse.
P.S. I'm near the end of a 4 day light flu attack which means no weed for 4 days now and no craving either! So much for addiction?

Same here. I normally vape several times a day, every day. I rarely take a break. But this last week I came down with a wicked cold. No weed for three days. No cravings or withdraw symptoms of any description..

Mr.Sifter,
just no desire or energy to indulge, I didn't have my daily coffee . When I am sick, I cannot eat anything and sleep all day.
The only thing I crave for is dried mangoes from Costco. I just had a cup of Keurig coffee (first cup in 4 days) and the false energy is amazing!
I'm still sitting tight and taking it easy so I do not relapse. Fuckin vivid dreams!

When I have a cold I will usually vape low tempretures and sometimes use water filtration. Using a very mild cannabis strain helps with any harshness. I’ve read where cannabis acts like an expectorant.

I haven’t had any luck making tinctures but I suppose I could buy some. I haven’t bought any edibles at a shop since cannabis became legal. It’s so expensive and very low in strength.

It is so easy to make tincture with a Nova decarb machine. I got mine in November and I have totally fallen in love with tinctures, which work so much better for me than vaping. The high lasts so much longer, and the ride is so much fun. I can also function well at home (not at work!!!!) working on the computer for ex., while I'm high.

why do you stop vaping when you have a cold?
I am a life long chronic asthmatic. Colds are very hard on me. When I get a cold, congestion settles into my lungs and even a whisper of vapor is way, way too harsh for me. My lungs are just too sensitive. Vaping during a cold sets off a series of lung busting coughing fits. Very unpleasant. It's not until I get the congestion cleared up a bit and my lungs aren't so irritated that I can introduce a bit of vaping at a low temps.

This is very interesting. My day time go to strain is Durban Poison. I love the stuff. As I was recovering from my cold I started vaping a small amount of Charolottes Web at low temps thinking that the high CBD might be helpful. Maybe I should have been vaping my old stand by, Durban Poison, instead.

Thanks for the tip!

.............................................................................

FYI for those looking for high THCV strains: I was searching for Durban Poison and its high THCV profile, to no avail BUT did discover that my go-to heavy pain strain (Blue Dream) happens to also have moderate high levels of THCV (not as much as Durban Poison but way more than most strains).

So if you can't find Durban Poison, Blue Dream seems to be much more readily available.

Durban Poison is still on my wish list however ;)

Depending on the batch Durban Poison is great medicine but it’s on the harsh side. Whereas Blue Dream doesn’t seem as harsh vapor taste. For me the less harsh when I have a cold. Just my opinion is all. Others may feel completely different.

@C No Ego, in what way is THCA like penicillin?

What is it known to help with?

My dispensary has extra strength THCV Tincture where one drop = .62mg of THCV

anti-virus, antibiotics, thcv gets in there and sizes up ( literally the molecular size) a virus via blood brain barrier access and kills it... thcv actually acts like cbd does via immunosupport / down regulating immunology etc...
I usually do not post just cannabis related sites only but that last mmjdoc link has resource links listed at ncbi.nih.gov etc... I'll post more if that does not answer for you= peace

https://duckduckgo.com/?q=thcv+cannabinoids-+new+antibiotics+of+the+future&t=ffcm&atb=v62-6__&ia=web

I'll edit- how cannabinoids work- they maintain protein receptor signalling @ cannabinoid receptors and keep pressure on cellular protein receptor channels via enzymatic metabolism... any viruses that attach to cellular proteins will potentially be targeted by cannabinoids to metabolize them away etc...

Day Tripper
I believe I am suffering from physical withdrawal... I've been a moderate smoker/vaper for 35 years. although I would classify myself as more of a microdoser for the last several years. I still vape every night. My only breaks are typically when I go on vacation and I have never had any issues what so ever. However, I started using concentrates with a lynx hypnos and a source slim 4 about 6 months ago. they are used many days but not all, and the concentrates are from a medical dispensary. On day two of not using I started noticing my symptoms which might have been flu like. I was seen by my Dr who did all of the usual testing and blood work. I did not have any nausea or fever but I am experiencing stomach pain, dizziness, muscles tremors, light headedness, chills all of which are coincidently symptoms of cannabis withdrawal. Last night I took one large hit from a grasshopper and got some relief. I'm not completely convinced its CWS but I'm still going to reduce the amount and frequency of the concentrates and slowly taper off of the flower for a T-break.
any suggestions are welcome since cold turkey doesn't seem to be a good option. ( I had to leave work two days in a row due to the severity of the symptoms...)
So far I'm drinking as much fluid as possible and exercising to detox.
Thanks
