What box mod are you using / recommending for on-demand convection 510 vapes?

can you link me to what you listed for $50? specifically the board, board mount, and buttons. thanks!
New to this so I'm likely missing obvious resources (like the chip maker evolv has a forum about this stuff) but my first kit came from dripp3d.com and my next kit is parts from them and an enlosure from analogboxmods.com.

Simple is the way
Any have any experience with one of these, think it would look great paired with the splinter or iheat. It's 29mm wide at the connection. Evolv DNA 75 and takes 18650 or 26650

does anyone know if this is a reputable dealer? If not can you please recommend a few legitimate online retailers, I'm completely ignorant about the mod world, don't want to end up with a cheap counterfeit. I know fasttech.com has this mod but if I can get it domestically for the same price there's no reason not to. As far as I can see this should work for the splinter or Iheat cartridge, if I am wrong please stop me before order it, thanks everyone

Is that the S-Body CP2something? You might want to go with a more simple chip honestly for your first Mod. I am finding it hard to use the escribe program to create my own TCR settings. I honestly found my Evic Vtwo Mini a lot easier to use.

I'm browsing through element.com which seems to be reliable site.

Thanks for saving me the headache! I almost pulled the trigger on that one. I have a Vtwo mini so I can try out the tubo fw.

I am using it with the iHeat and I can say that it works well. The TC is really nice and even. I’ve used iHeat with the Smok Alien too and the TC is noticeably better on the Smoant.
@rosedale
do you use SS TC or TCr ?
What are your setting with the I-Heat?
I'm lost with my smoant charon tc 218 everything works well 3 days.. since i have only issue. At cold start my resistance raise between 0.4 at 0.47 (atfirst my ressistance was 0.36) i bet my mod is faulty
i need to try the I-Heat with another mod

I have been using SS on my iHeat. I am currently messing around with TCR but I am a little lost right now.

I'm still wondering how the Therion handles the cells protection with its 1S2P configuration...

After checking, the answer is: it doesn't! As I thought, the DNA75 was designed for a single cell and has no way to balance charge the two cells.

Having the two cells in parallel *without any kind of protection circuit* is a kind of a hack and has more disadvantages than positives. You need to be careful when you insert the cells that they don't have widely different voltages as it can generate high currents when they equalize.

From what I can deduce, even though I don't need the power for the Splinter, the DNA166 (utilizing the 250 chip) seems a little more attractive due to reverse polarity protection and balanced 2A charging.....am I barking up the right tree here? Fresh batts that stay as matched as possible and the ability to charge in device, safely. Seems more than worth the extra $$$ to me

So the above should answer your question from the Splinter thread: yes better have a DNA250 with two cells in series. You'll get per cell voltage monitoring, balance charging and none of the "voltage equalization" problem that you get with parallel cells (where the strongest cell works harder because it gives charge to the weak cell, leading in extreme cases to running it over its discharge rating)

Also a lesser known difference is that in 2S1P configuration, most of the time the converter will be able to operate in buck mode, which is more efficient than in boost mode (with 1S and 1S2P, depending on attachment resistance and power setting, as well as battery charge level, the converter will switch often between buck and boost or stay in boost mode)

So, is it going to be a dna 166 or wismec reuleaux 2/3 that cancbe upgraded with the tubo firmware

I guess it depends on your budget. DNA boxes are still considerably pricier...

I don't know if this is the model I posted back then from the UK, could be, but it might interest some readers on my side of the pond >> https://www.vapeclub.co.uk/vape-mods-with-replaceable-batteries/jac-vapour-series-b-dna-75-mod.html (JAC Vapour Series B)

I really wanted a dna 75 mod but I think its going to be the Wismec Reuleaux to be onothe safe side and within budget.

The WISMEC is a decent MOD.

A MOD is a device with a controller that hold's batteries.

I have a bunch of ATOMIZER's.
I'm waiting for HERB type to arrive? (MY last one I tried was a dud?)

Mostly ROSIN lately.

I'll let U know if it work's?

Start low and work your way up?

My BENDER (GLASS with a rod iron heater from W9 TECH is the only one that work's) (herb)

Just got all the parts in for my 2nd DNA75 mod - the Alpinetech/Hammond 1590A+ (an electronics enclosure standard) is JUST big enough, w a couple mm to spare, to fit the board, 510 connection, and a 26650 battery, no wasted space feels good. Should be the same for a DNA200 or DNA250 (way overkill for power needs but supports faster charging). Will post pictures tonite once the build is complete.

Love how tightly everything fits, good overall size, analogboxmods.com was out of the understated gun-metal gray 1590A+ I'd originally ordered, the green is a bit much, certainly harder to lose, I think it'll scuff up nice.

How much was this MOD?
$100 + battery. I paid a premium to get the machined, anodized, and magnet-ed enclosure, plus someone else's 3D-printed board holder and battery sled. The essential elements are the DNA75 board ($35), 510 connection ($4.25), and a standard 1560A enclosure (findable for ~ $7 raw), so if you have more time/tools than money you can replicate for as little as $50 plus your labor and a battery.

Do you have to manually solder everything yourself?
