Ed's WoodScents Log Vape - Ed's TnT

@Ed's TnT, you won't have a choice but to pass it on to the customer as you can't eat it.

"WASHINGTON – After accounting for a $5.8 billion retiree health benefit prefunding obligation, the U.S. Postal Service posted a net loss of approximately $5.6 billion for fiscal year 2016 (October 1, 2015 - September 30, 2016), as compared to a $5.1 billion net loss for the year ended September 30, 2015."

Wonder how much they lost this year. IMO, it's time to get rid of all the goverment employees with the enormous pension obligation & privatize.

Easy there @Summer while I don’t want to get into any political OT’s, the USPS is the only corporate entity in the entire US that is required to pre-fund future retiree obligations at 100%. You can’t look at their numbers without context, and yes, the “pro-business” GOP is responsible for this.

There are many reasons for changes in any business’ paradigm. Simple fix for Ed......he explains the changes to his customers, things change, Ed continues to treat us all like kings/queens while crafting great shit for us to enjoy. Switching to vaping has saved enough money to support my VAS and take these changes in stride.

And on another note, I’d bet that if the packages went from Customs in Miami to Louisville, then UPS must have a contract to help USPS with package shipments. Especially since the retiree funding issues suck money from Capital investment and improvements for USPS (Louisville is UPS’ biggest hub).

Now back to getting stoned whole preparing a scratch beef stew with polenta, listening to Beethoven and having a nice craft IPA from down the road in Virginia Beach. Oh, and I finished off the Cab that I used for cooking while taking breaks with my Thuya Burl WS. Life is Good:cheers::chill::smug:

Good morning everyone, just getting back in the swing of things, took a few days off had fam and friends in for a full on hardcore 4 day duck hunt. Started out tough going in blind but we put the work in an hammered em over the weekend. Got 28 duck breasts soaking now, going to the grill this weekend with some fresh deer sausage my friend hooked me up with RRRRRR cant freaking wait! Bout to get my butt in the shop for a bit today, gotta hit it hard. Got the River Dance show tonight with my wife, woot woot!

Omgosh, I was in the midst of my post here was going to do some quick shipping and tracking to update you all when I learned I am going to have to change how I do shipping completely for international orders. Where I would offer free shipping on every order, a $22 FM stem would cost me $2.50 to ship to Canada, this last week rates increased and now its going to cost $12, and thats the closest internationally I ship to regularly, it only gets more expensive from there. I cant afford to go the route I was on smalls. Its going to cost me the same price for a complete WS package weighing 1.5lbs. as it would a 1/2oz. wood stem. Jeez I am at a loss and am really frustrated at this moment ughhhhhh not cool!

@Aezhenn I thank you for the post and just heard yesterday that your post also made it to my biz location yesterday. Just got home this morning and am headed that way to pick em up shortly, thanks so much my man and I will be in touch soon!

@Summer Lol, I have learned over my first half of life that if the wife aint happy aint nobody happy so its best that Mrs. Ed stays happy and I do whatever I can to ensure that, thatd be my strategy going forward each and every day! Hmm I hadnt thought that far ahead really but sure I suppose so, you would have to get with me in advance to make that happen. I got you, dont sweat it!

@pxl_jockey Thanks so much for the post and for the kind words! Omgosh you have no idea how many irons I have in the fire, I am going to have to slow down at some point, life is just way way to crazy busy these days and look to only get even more so. Thing is I have been doing a matching set, not only are the matching species but wanted the overall design of all the wood to match. I dont want to just do straight pieces for all but want each to have some flavor ya know. I dont suppose it has to be exact but do want some similarity to each. I will give this more thought for sure and no offense at all bro, thanks for the questions and for getting me to thinking.

@Vitolo WoodScents rules!!!

@Slagzord @lazylathe Gosh guys I am seeing things change significantly in how I have done shipping. I have been doing it the same way for almost 11 years and now all of a sudden it has changed. Before when I would do internationals they would go to Miami through customs then off to their destination, I looked at you guys tracking and show it went there but then went to Louisville, uhhhhh say what. I am guessing thats Kentucky but why from MS - FL - KY before outside the US, maybe thats why the freaking rates went up 6 times or more to justify the ridiculous transit route. Before a Canada order would take bout 10-14 days now guys I am sorry I have no idea whats going on nor when anything will happen. I am like you all looking at tracking hoping it makes it soon and rethinking how everything works. UGHHHHHHH this is a big big load of crap and I so am not happy!

Shipping is just another hill that I will overcome, a true stepper like me dont give up or give in!

Never mind Ed we will have to pay, we don't mind, you and what you make are worth it. Maybe there are alternatives, especially for the international community ( a chain of Ed's sheds all over the world) those ducks look delicious, now back to the shed for you and get my stems done

@lazylathe let's hope. The wait has killllllllllllled me. I'm so excited to see the damned thing in person and get my first log vape rolling!

@Ed's TnT A huge bummer to read about the stupid across the board increases. We're getting fucked by FedEx where I work, and we're a big ass powerful professional services firm! I know That as a customer of yours I will continue to patronize your wares as you have a real corner on the Woodscents market! You could consider a discounted shipping rate for international orders above a certain amount? Either way, you put in that Ed love that no amount of saved postage can replicate.

How was the Riverdance by the way? I do love me that shit. Went to Lord of the Dance as a kid and a family trip through Scots/Irish parts of the Maritimes and got lots of that in my system. Make sure to chase that shot of Irish culture with some Clancy Bros while you're lathing some logs!

@lazylathe , @Slagzord hang in there guys, not long now. Here is a little something to keep you going- do you know this one by Peter Tosh, "Soon Come"?
It's a fantastic track, he was one super cool dude with some sunny vibes:

Thanks bro!!!
Grew up listening to him, very popular in South Africa!
Here is another artist from the same time period, Eddy Grant.
This was a huge hit back in the day, especially since it came out during the height of apartheid...

We used to sing:
Gimme dope Joanna!! Lol!

@Slagzord Mine has been processed!! Maybe today or tomorrow!!!

@lazylathe I hope your silence is golden as mine. I saw the flag on my mailbox up and ran out to find a glorious tube.

It got opened up really quick, and cleaned even faster. Damned thing is as tiny as it is beautiful. I couldn't believe how light it feels. Solid but still delicate.

I've run through a couple of bowls with the wood stem with my pops. At first we didn't figure things out but quickly started having crazy big draws and playing with screen depth and dosing.

Some trial and error, learning the value of patience when playing with the temperature. I've had a few hits that I could not believe with the purity of flavor. And man can this thing be efficient!

Edit: log owners - what's the deal with leaving it on? Should I/Can I do that? Just say, eh, I'm lit AF and I'm going to go upstairs to eat a pair of pears, and it turns into an hour or so? No biggy, I'm guessing by the lack of issues so far...

Leaving the WS on is fine, just keep it in a safe spot. I typically turn mine on at let it idle at about half power, then when I need a hit I just dial it up for a few minutes. For logs in general, heat is what eventually wears them out, especially where the hot heater tube meets the wood. Original log designs used a lot of mass to support the heater, and the wood eventually dried out and sometimes charred as they aged. Current designs bleed much less heat into the wood, hence the light and compact design.

Mine needs to go back for a tune up!
Think they treated the package like this:

^and by "like" I mean "hate this for you, buddy"

How can those postal bastards treat an artisan-crafted one-of-a-kind piece of functional art like that?! :goon:
Posh English accent: How very dare they!
Sorry again mate, after all your patience
After waiting until after the holidays to have it shipped?
Just so something like this wouldn't happen?
It's unreal. And unfunny. Cruel World!

lazylathe

Almost there...
No! That's such bullshit :(

What was the condition upon arrival, if it is okay for us to ask you to relive that trauma?

My heater tube was not connected to the bottom plate.
I think this happened once before earlier on in the thread so it is definitely from shipping!
I know Ed tests each and every WS before he ships them, just unfortunate for me.
All good though! I will be shipping just the unit back for adjustment and then i will be in business!!

@Ed's TnT Customer Service has been STELLAR!!!

Sorry for your disapointment @lazylathe but you are already leading by example and showing great spirit, you do this more well than you realise in every one of your posts here, even when the chips are down!

I feel you too bro on the winter bug! I did real well so far this winter, and just got whatever major virus is doing the rounds a few days back. For me, these are really serious respiratory illnesses and pure hell at times. And it came on real bad last few days
But thank god for these electomedicine treatments I am doing. I can't believe how okay I feel now. Like before I had it almost! It's a miracle, in the past this would be the beginning of several months of indiscribable suffering, just survival mode...

Anyway, just so pleased about that. But one day at a time. Man, I'm so looking forward to you getting your WS back.(and can I say I'm disappointed it was damaged ;), lol! )

I was quite surprised to see you getting one, as it seemed a far cry from the style you have been settled on. But I understand now how you are switching up, with a different tact and approach to vaping. So I will hold the popcorn for now. Stay up bruv, lots to be thankful for in life eh! Hope your bug eases down soon. You will enjoy your initial WS impressions so much more when you are feeling more well too.

Gosh Im super high tonight- auto colorado cookies! :)

Good morning, have had a pretty good week here, got alot done in the shop. Had a great date night with my wife. We went to this Italian spot we both had never been to. Thats hard to do as she is from the city and has been everywhere. We both got steak, wow were the best I have had out in a while. Did the River Dance show later. Wasnt my thing, was ok, I know alot of people dig that and yes thats my people, the best part was watching my girl smile and grin so big the entire time. She would get so excited and yell, that was worth every minute. My 14 year old started the week with strep turned into flu ended week feeling better and cant go back to school until this coming Thursday. Got a little closer to closing on the house, jeez all the stuff you gotta show and prove, get this we started looking for a house in Sept. and had others run our credit of course. After learning this and that only to go with another lender in the end I have to type out all the others that looked at our history and explain to the underwriter when and why those inquiries were made, ughhh really! I marked off a few tasks on the todo list making it shorter so all in all I would say I got a lot done.

Ok after some research and thought and reading even more I have come to this for shipping going forward. I must say we have all had a good thing here at Ed's TnT, free shipping with every order worldwide say what????? Who doesnt like free, who? Have been offering it since the beginning but as with all good things they must come to an end. I have come to a flat fee for US and International orders. Its

all US orders - $7.50 flat fee

all International - $15 flat fee

Orders still ship on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Everybody has to kick in now. I have thought about it long and hard. I am kicking in as I always have as well. I am not Amazon and cant afford to tote the burden alone, I hope all understand

I have been doing some thinking @pxl_jockey Having gotten in the new WoodScents Stem & Stash Totes and thinking the unit doesnt have to match exactly it just cant, will be same species so thatll have to do.

7gluM1w.jpg

Its close to 7"L x 7/8" OD, each end has a cap with oring to keep it snug and tight. The stem end has a magnet in the wood cap for use with the DynaVap cap. You got a short dividing wall in the middle separating the stash area which is about 1" deep. Thing is the stem itself is 14mm OD, it cant be any larger than that, any larger and it wouldnt fit into the WS S&S Tote or some of the DV stashes. I cant do a whole lot of detail due to the size restrictions. I have a few of these in Beach and Sapelle.

X04SfjN.jpg

This is the new look for 18 I settled on for the unit.

RdUXlMW.jpg

I like to think about my WS being something you wanna hold like your girls hand, it just fits ya know and something you wanna hold tight. I want my WS to have curves like she has, I want it to be sexy and sleek. I like the bead tool, and I like angles. I wanted this look to have an edge just like my girl, she is sweet, sassy and has an edge, I like when she pops off at me, I know when she is serious and I smile when she is full of crap, I like sharpness.

Lhlg5P3.jpg

The upper end is wide open and full bore, alot to look at down in there. Looking down the outside it has that long sweeping angle with a sharp curve into the beaded bottom. I may be able to replicate this somewhat into the stem and WPA.

Got new AirPaths in as well, these are the new look going forward also, have a subtle knurling to em

2YAaFWw.jpg

Its a trip how faint the feel is but to see it looks more dramatic to the touch then it really is if that makes sense.

Think I told you all the website is changing, alot to see soon so keep an eye out.

@beyond6strings You know you right!

@Summer So true and had to do.

@mucsusn RRRRR scratch beef stew, I like. Not much of one for IPA though, still though sounds like a nice night with the WS. Good advise always bro thanks for sharing!

@almostthere I appreciate the understanding bro, its going to work out. I have some CE study stuff to do today to get back to my guy with more info. The duck was awesome last night did my first time deep fried bacon wrapped duck nuggets, rrrr my kids said it was a hit!

@Vitolo Yes we are!!!

@lazylathe Yes sir that had happened a time or two in the past, does suck and was checked, still a PITA for us both, I do hate it and do appreciate you working with me to get you fixed up. I appreciate the patience you have had and still do, the kind words are great to hear always! You know I will get you right.

@Slagzord Yes sir it does suck but is what it is in the end. I still have to kick in some here and there myself to get some orders to their destination thats why there is a flat fee. I appreciate your kind words also and sticking with me, thats a big deal! Dont get me wrong, I like the dancing and such, I like to go to the Celtic fests but 1 1/2 hours of it is way to much for me. I enjoy the games more so. Really glad to hear you are enjoying your unit and finding it to be a solid hitter. Its great for conservation, its a trip how such a little amount can create crazy huge clouds. Alot of log owners in the past myself as well did leave their units on all the time and yes that was the downfall for many of the earlier devices. Logs have come along way since, you can leave the WS on all the time if you like I suggest you run it low like @mucsusn mentioned but as you said, you dont have to. You can turn the WS on, get your material together and loaded by that time youre good to go. Bro I am always here for you, be it here, email, phone, heck you get near my area and in person as well, count on that!

@Alexis Wow your post to @lazylathe is very thoughtful and caring, thanks for being part of FC and here at the WS! I am glad to hear you are feeling better and hope you continue to do well! Thanks for all you do!

Alright yall, got a couple more orders to pack up and some research to do before church tonight, yall take care and I wish you all a great week ahead!

@eds Sometimes when creating something, I get blinders on - just like a horse, and I'll struggle and anguish over a solution. When there's no solution, accepting it and moving on gives me peace of mind.

I love the new curvy flared top for '18, it's like a tulip and the bead/angles at the bottom give a tip of the hat to the original WS, I think. The way you talk about how the WS should feel and the inspiration for the profile is beautifully poetic and just the thing that makes a WoodScents more than a vaporizer. I'd never considered being able to gaze down into the wood while using/holding one! The outside, of course but with its design, the user can also admire the figure of the inner grain. Thanks for pointing out just how deep the inside is. I can lose myself in the grain of wood, especially when I'm particularly uplifted! :brow:

Those shipping charges are more than fair, imo. Very reasonable indeed, and far better than having to raise prices across the entire range to cover "free shipping". You're so transparent and above-board in your business practices and sharing that with your customers here, it's a rare and wonderful thing.

Slagzord

@Ed's TnT those are indeed fair prices. No more small purchases, just gotta get your Ed basket full and worth it! Glad you enjoyed RD. But yeah, I get shifty in my seat after an hour. More of a floors at Slayer kinda guy myself ;)

I'm loving Milton, which is what I have named my buckeye burl. I want to post pics but I'm so darned bad at it. Gotta say, with the buckeye those grey tones just pop way too nice after a good buddering. If I'm ever down in old MS, which is part of a civil war history tour I want to do, I'll be giving you a holler.

Loving the new woodscents design changes!

the subtile changes i think are the most exciting sometimes...in this case, most certainly.

@Ed's TnT are those tote cases THE official woodscents stash? ifso...i might have to get one...but if this were a dream world, personally i would like to see a more traditional stash with some tweaks and a place to put AVB or a 2nd strain.

Next time I go back down south, i am going to have to check you out for sure...its just not enough reading about the fun you have out there!
