PAX Era by PAX Labs

Herb is always better. Most oil in pods and carts are made from trim and are highly processed distillate. You get a lighter high that doesn’t last as long as smoking or vaping properly grown flower. I love vaping in a movie theater as well, I remember back in the day we used to smoke actual flower in the theater, oh how times have changed, everything is too easy and convenient now. Definitely carts/pods are just great for on the go, I can’t wait until the day where they can create the full spectrum experience of smoking flower into a pod or cart, with all the medicinal properties, plant material, terps, everything. By the time the oil is winterized and processed to work with a cart/pod it loses so much.

I was always curious about this. I haven’t tried oils or concentrates at all. Pricing is astronomical and not easily accessible. I’m excited to check it out but was hesitant to drop $20 then another $60 for a cartridge. The biggest reason I would though is stealth. The intent was to have the Era as I move around inside of buildings in Vegas and then use my ghost when I’m outdoors. Am I going to get as launched with the Era as I am with the Ghost? Is it simply me needing to select a stronger strain to get the same impact or should I try another product? Figure I’m estimating potentially going through two pods when I’m there so all in I’m looking at around $20+$60+$60+ whatever the tax is. Is there a lesser expensive alternative that I could find in a dispensary in Vegas or do you think this vape is really my best option for discreetness, effects, battery life?

Honestly I think you can get those 3 pros fine in a regular 510 cart (some really nice brands with great oil) and pen battery whole saving money. I got my first strain pods for only $40 each at a happy hour and I don't know if I can justify $60 for a half gram personally. They do last a while with the temp regulation and oil quality can be great too (though they have those silica pads vs steel rods and glass of the 510 carts I like). One pod may even be enough for your whole trip, but yeah it depends how you'll use it. To me it is a bit more maintenance and like you describe indoor puffs, I like low temps for taste and smoothness, you can just hit as big or small as you like as many times as you like. Definitely is a bit more discreet than a 510pen, but for practical purposes its pretty marginal I think...

Yea honestly like snacks said era is better then carts ONLY for being discreet and the ability to take either really low temp hits or dab like clouds on max temp. However GOOD 510 carts made with ccell carts outperform pods by a long shot and there are some very good brands. Just make sure any oil you get is made with ONLY cannabis derived terpenes (CDT), all the other terps are garbage! I’ve tried almost every brand from Cali, not sure what Vegas has but if you need any recommendations for a california brand, let me know

Gonna be PMing you later to discuss brands  or I actually started a generic 510 cart thread for Cali that I seem to have misplaced...

Yo, what’s good with smell on these when in use? Is this something I can vape in a bar or in an indoor smoking environment and not get blown up? I’m heading over to Vegas soon and they are selling these carts for $60. Should I go with this vape or choose another for discreetness? I have the Juul and this looks a little bigger. I see that you guys are saying that it smells and that’s when I’m worried about. Delta 3d purchase might need to go down if they have a case. Wow, as soon as I clicked their website man.. geeeze.. nice. You guys tell me though.. after buying and using this, I heard it’s strong, should I go with this? If refilling, what oil or stuff should I refill it with? I’m at a complete loss when it comes to oils and liquids and stuff man. All I know is bud, bud, flowers, bud yeahhh.. if I’m looking at a dispensary menu, what would I choose?

I've gone through 3 pods since getting my Era. Two from Bloom Farms (generic hybrid and generic sativa), and one from Guild Extracts (Tangieland). None of them smelled very much when not in use. Even when in use they didn't smell (or taste) much like cannabis flower to me. I used them in many public restrooms without any hesitation.

I've purchased 3 more pods, different brands and strains. I haven't tried them yet, but the pods didn't smell much when I inspected them.

I don't know about the Jetty GSC pods, but the pods I've used were sufficiently stealthy that I felt comfortable using them in public restrooms.

As far as effects are concerned, I learned that the pods don't seem to be as potent as vaping top-shelf flower in my Grasshopper. It takes more draws to get the same effects, but they do get me medicated.

Nice! Yeah, that’s kinda where I was thinking I would vape ‘em. At the bar or right near people would have me paranoid. I can’t wait to play with this little device. I’m going to have to call around to check stock over there and reserve. It sucks they don’t ship the batteries to states where it’s not legal.

It sucks even more that they no longer seem to ship batteries to medical providers in legal states. My medical source told me today that Pax no longer deals with mmj outlets, and only deals with recreational shops now. Seems to make no sense to me and I hope they were lying or mis-informed. Has anyone else heard this?

I actually went to my medical only shop recommended by @Shooby in so. California yesterday and saw the pax era battery sold. A lil premium at $25 (I heard they are $20, but I stupidly purchased from pax for $60).

Yeah, vegas is $20 for the battery and $60 everywhere for the carts. It seems though that the vast majority don’t carry this device though or the pods. I’m going to have to call around and probably reserve once I find a dispensary that has ‘em. Batteries from Pax have always been a bitch to get ahold of. I experienced it with the JUUL locally. There was a period of time when the single batteries were easily bought, juul pods were a little more common. Now, at least in my area, that isn’t the case. Bodegas charge $22 for a pack of pods and the only batteries available come in the $60 starter kits. I’m on an auto ship program right now so I don’t run out or have to pay crazy prices.
This Era looks like it’s the same deal with only a handful of shops carrying it.

Greetings all! After many of revisions to this design tweaking the fit, I wanted to finally share my newly published Pax Era Slim Case

20180123_102118__39067.1516723103.1280.1280.jpg

As far as I can tell, this is the slimmest full-body case on the market for the Pax Era vape. I'm a huge fan of it - protects the entire vaporizer in your pocket while containing the odors at the same time.

Gimme a bit more time and I'll be publishing a slightly larger case with space to hold a few spare pods with the vape, wanted to publish this ultra slim case first.

Nice! I just ordered mine :D this’ll serve me well in Vegas. You guys working on an MV1 case? Maybe not a slide over but something contained like this? I don’t wanna scratch mine up anymore >.< maybe I should just get a sock.
Bro, yo, at any rate, I’m excited right now for this era even more so. Yeahhhh!!!

I've actually got quite a few case ideas in mind once I move into a larger studio with space to invest in some new high tech machinery :ninja:

Got it :D thanks a ton!

Hey yo, are woodlike designs possible or what other materials can be used? I immediately think of Star Trek replicator type shit. Press a button and it scans it, then kinda like lazers shoot out and it just appears before your eyes after 10 seconds of glitter being stirred in water.. yeahhhh.. or like button kits sonically welded to the case so vape manipulation is possible.. yeahhhh.. yoo I want my pax era future case to have dragons on it all woodlike and my mv1 case to make it look like a star trek phaser, all colored out with the greys yo, maybe a federation engraving over the little green light. Mannn.. yeahhhhh!! 3d Delta it up bro, replicators awayyyy

The more I look at these and play with them, it’s cool. Like mechanical spiders crafted these. Neeeato. I cant wait to get ahold of a pax era to put it to use. Pods too, that gives me storage with the little one.. yeahhh nice! Thanks :D
Imma check to make sure this is waterproof. If so I can bring it with me over into the pools while I’m on vacation. Chill in a lagoon and vape away.. glorious man glorious

I must admit I am a fan of the Pax Era. Very discreet. And I have tried a lot of concentrate use solutions, but I am somewhat nimbleness challenged, so torches are out the window. I have tried other portable dab rigs, but I still have trouble dealing with the sticky stuff. And I have had bad luck with 510 carts. Mainly leakage.

The battery is almost at the cost of being disposable. I actually lost my first battery... Who knows where?

The pods ARE 60 quatloos for 0.5 grams, but I am still a stubborn lightweight, low doser, so they last forever for me.

And the extracts here in the Puget Sound are pure CO2 extracts from Avitas. The flavor is amazing.

I still don't find concentrate to have the flower experience, but when I wake up in the middle of the night with The Strawberries "Go All The Way" keeping from going back to sleep, The Era is right there with some Hash Plant concentrate putting me back to sleep.

K... so here’s what I like and don’t like after using this device everywhere in Vegas.
- Stealth.. I love the stealth aspect of this more than any other. Nobody identifies this as a weed kinda product at all. Everyone assumes it’s a JUUL or E cig. I had no issue getting this everywhere. The MV1 got me stopped at one club but after telling them it was an E-Cig they let it through. This, no problem. Not even a glance.

Walking with it too, you can get absolutely lit in a few puffs and nobody is the wiser. Amazing.

Variety of flavors.. k well.. this is where I have a problem..

I’m allergic to pg/vg no matter the combination it would seem. When this device was fully loaded up, the heated spray of vapor absolutely destroyed the inside of my mouth. I could only really use it one hit here and there with either water or beer nearby.

It was only after the pod had been significantly depleted did it stop spraying so much heated poisonous juice into the inside of my mouth. At which point it was easier to use and enjoyable.

Figure for me it’s a $60 gamble on pods each and every time. Need to calibrate so to speak to figure out which irritates the least.

I had to do the same with JUUL. Juulpods are much less expensive though. I’ve maintained a subscription for JUUL pods ever since I started having terrible reactions to e juice and had to get off the Rebuildables. Every flavor but the vanilla pod causes the equivalent of chemical burns to the inside of my mouth and throat. This same nonsense occurs with this Era. Same deal. For instances like this, I wish there was a way to wick less or somehow decrease the amount of liquid the wick is absorbing at any given time to help mitigate or lessen the amount of inflammation that occurs by the larger spray of hot juice mix. A sampler pack maybe of small amounts of liquids in pods would be the solution to this.

I cannot take a 4-petal-lit hit: I use the Era at one, maybe two petals. Do you use the phone app to control your unit? You can set it at a specific temp. You can fine-tune a standard petal designation. By that I mean, there is a range of temps between petal lights. Maybe your temp should be between two standard values.

Yeah, i did alter temps using the phone app keeping it initially lower than the recommended temp. It’s the juice that I’m getting a reaction with for sure. Whether it’s running hot or colder, irritation comes. It tends to do more damage at the higher temps though. More immediately noticeable. Makes it hard to swallow. It’s that nonsense I’m describing that occurs with practically all e juice I come into with now. It used to not be that way years ago when I first got off cigarettes and onto vaping. Took about a year and a half. I remember when it happened too. I just got back from California. E-juice stores had just started littering the west coast and began becoming popular over here in the East. I loaded up on flavors. After getting home, it started. Then I ordered from different makers online to see if I’d get a reaction from those, I did. Found and tried JUUL. Higher nicotine means less hits required. Vanilla worked. Minimal irritation vaping throughout the day.

I’m sure the same would be true with the Era. I’m sure there is one sativa blend or hybrid blend that may not irritate as much.

@SirCrackKillaH Have you tried the Rubi? If you like that particular form factor, you can easily load the Pods yourself with material you know to be uncut.

MHO is that the size of the ERA pods are such that, in order for them to work properly (keeping the wick completely saturated), they have to be cut with something to increase its volume in the POD but keep them at a reasonable price for .5 gram THC.

Man, I wish I lived in a state where it was legal. I got a taste of what it’s like over in Vegas man. Everything is an Uber ride away. Devices, cartridges, pods, concentrates, flowers, alllllll in plentiful supply. No lines when I went to the dispensaries either. In jersey man, we got none of that. The rubi I saw at champs and it looked appealing. I just wish I had access to all the goodies so that I could try it out without having to take a trip. Next trip to another legal state is in three months so I’ll have another go at it.

Yo, so when you would fill your own pods, what are you looking for? What would you use? When I was inside those dispensaries I saw those syringes with concentrate liquid stuff. Sold in half grams, I assume this is what you would use. Any idea? I’m new to this whole thing. I know the rubi may be straying off the era thread but it’s along the same vein. For those that have issues with the era, there needs to be a better alternative that is less costly. I’m going to look that up and read more about it. Curious.

There are many shops in Vegas that sell 1 gm syringes varying from 70% to 92%
Grove, Inyo, Releaf, $50-55 for a gram. half G's 38-40.
I like the CO2 oil best, ATF, SLH ect...
BHO from good companies also & Distillate goes in my cart also.

I gave my Rubi to a friend beginner as the cCell from either Cannablast or Apex labs
Blows it away on cost & hits, also with small black pen combo $15 apx very stealthy.
after 2 grams of great oil $115 (that's 4 era pods + pen $240)
No comparison, why are these companies so greedy?
Selling cut adulterated oil for so much?
I opted out for sanity, Don't support overpriced stuff & IT WILL GO AWAY!
That will pave the way for best product , at the best Price.
The GREAT American WAY!!!

This is my second empty pod. I broke the first, trying to imitate a youtube video. The second one I took the advise of @DMPesso, and i'm filling the empty through the mouthpiece, past a rubber stopper. I'll let you know how that works.

Yeah, I wanted to know about how well this works too with the Era.

I bought EJ mix and syringes awhile back, mixed it with wax, filled up a JUUL pod, it worked. It required an additional draw to get going though. Certainly wasn’t anywhere near as potent as the Era. Clogged up after about a week. Wouldn’t wick anymore. The Era though is designed for those oils so I think you’d have much better success.
