Go into a dark place and run the FF2 empty to SEE which holes are blocked. Wet a q-tip with 91% ISO. It should be damp NOT dripping. Turn unit upside down and dab the clogged holes. You DO NOT want ISO dripping inside the unit. Light on the ISO, unit UPSIDE down. Some of us have been successful "pulling" the clogs out this way- spin the q-tip as you dab.

Also, draw resistance is so subjective AND depends on additional vapes. The FF2 is a great vape- for the right person and situation. A friend of mine sips a PAX and the FF2 is great and knocks him on his ass (convection seems to hit me and my friends harder). I use an MV1 and mighty (almost 0 draw restriction to me) so I gave the FF2 to him. It just takes too long for me using the FF2. I like to finish the chamber in 1 sesh. Using the FF2 with looooonnnngggg, slllooowww draws takes too long to do the 10-12 rips per. It is still a great vape, though.

I found that after applying the ISO and running through several 500 degree burns I use the Giotto's Rocket Air Blaster which works great. Blasting those holes right after the ISO scrub/concentrate level heating seems to help dramatically

Hey guys, been looking to upgrade from the G-Elite ( was my first vaporizer, impressed at first, but the material seemed to degrade over time and a pain to clean) and I been looking at either the firefly 2 or ghost mv1. I’m leaning towards the firefly due to its better customer support and it’s apparently super easy to clean. Ease of maintenance is a huge factor to me. I’ll list my priorities to you and you guys can tell
Me if this is the right device for me.

Price isn’t a problem ( I can pay for the firefly 2 in 6 months no interest with PayPal)

I want something where I can really get the medicinal qualities and I don’t really care how much of a cloud I’m creating as long as I feel it.

Something that’s quick and not too smelly so I can take a few quick hits on the balcony and then come back inside and hangout with my wife without the smell lingering.

Again, something that’s easy to clean

My next portable vape will be primarily and at home vape or one I take to concerts to get maybe 4 to 6 hits throughout a single concert.

My g-elite will become my hiking vaporizer as backup.

So what do you all think? Is the firefly 2 right for me?

I’m on the same boat you are my friend. All those criteria is I needed. The ff2 checked all boxes. I’m waiting for one and I am excited to see if this is the vape that could do all I need.

Keep me updated on your thoughts! I’ll most likely be ordering mine today or tomorrow night.

Will do. You do the same. Been reading a lot about technique and how to use it properly. I’m getting one used. But if I was buying new I would love to get that all black one.

Hey man,
Welcome to the forum!

I think the FF2 should check all your boxes. If you had time till the end of April you could also throw an eye on the all new Haze Square.

The mv-1 is considerably bigger and heavier - maybe not too portable for going to a concert? Also if you lose that crucible out and about that's gonna suck... Don't own one myself, but I read it's a bit finicky to load and insert - plus you need to pay more attention, more parts...

The FF2 is a nice device. Very good flavor, also nice with concentrates. On demand. Be sure to have the second battery fully loaded at hand. I find battery life to be decent - but since it is proprietary - you don't wanna run out of juice while one the go.
External charger is highly recommended by a lotta ppl. I don't have one yet. ;)

I got the blue one. Looks nice with the orange glow when heating. There's some nice colors for sure!

Good luck making your decision! :)

Anyone hook the FF2 up to a water tool? Saw reference on the VLF that it rips with concentrates through ab bong. Just curious how one would connect?
You would just use a small piece of silicone hose that would go around the mouthpiece and fit snug ... from that go to an Arizer EQ 90 elbow or something of the sort.

Haven't tried it yet though :)

I think it would be best to (or mostly level ... not sure if you "have to" especially after the initial concentrate has melted in to the pads, especially if you are using 2 to sandwich the concentrate)

I was curious and wanted to ask you why 2 pads? Have only seen 1 being used.....

Are you still rocking the FF2 for your rosin dabs on the go? No regrets?

Still using the FF2 with rosin as my primary on the go device right now. No regrets.

The 2 pads are per @herbivore21's recommendation, and as well, has the added bonus of keeping things cleaner I believe and in place while vaping. Also better for storage as I can fit 4 pairs of pre-loaded concentrate pads in a 3mL silicone dabware container (so 2 containers gets me 8 pre-packed sessions)

I did try with a silicone tube and glass 14mm GonG adapter yesterday through water, and although the cloud on the first hit was impressive, and it was nice to get the visual feedback of what I believed hitting direct, you really notice the lack of airflow in this situation! It's fine direct, but seems intolerable through water ...

I think the two pad technique is a great idea that I'll try next time. There's quite a bit of goo that ends up on the glass on the lid as the vapor travels through the glass lined vapor path. This should help with efficiently getting all your medicine to vaporize by sandwiching it between two pads.

I've been using my moded firefly 2 quite a lot lately. Use a sewing needle and tack hammer to ever so slightly increase hole size, over pack slightly, set on high, and stir every toke---and the vapor is quite nice and easy flowing!

Thanks so much @JCat !! It was a combination of your feedback and experience as well as this girl at about 17:40 into the video that just made me pull the trigger!

Yep. That's about right! That's how it works for me too! I hope you like it man :)

I don't find stirring is really even necessary if it is packed right.

What's packed right? Full slight tamp? Not planning on using it for herb but any tips will help testing processes! Can't wait to taste the rosin!
I've only had a couple (literally I think two) bowls of flowers in it, and both times it worked great ... I fill with a light grind (SCS grind) so it's slightly overfull (think meniscus) and lightly tap down and place lid ... no stirring required.

With flowers it does get a little messy with the vapour path ... and my main use of this device is on the go, so sandwiched concentrate pads for the win for me (can store 8 pre-loaded pairs of concentrate pads in 2 3mL dabware containers so I'm ready for on-the-go)

Messy with flowers but not rosin? How much are you loading between those pads? .05g? And how many pad sandwiches can you go through on a single charge? 2-3? Do you have a spare battery?

Do you have to take the FF apart to do this?

I've been having serious draw restrictions myself lately, probably due to trying out some hash. I was initially fooled because I could see a glow through almost all the holes, but after a lot of (difficult) needle work, heat, and upside-down ISO, I improved the flow significantly. I'd love to find an easier way, though.

How did you execute the hash? Just crumbling direct into the bowl? My plan is to use some wisps of degummed hemp fibre on the bottom of the bowl and see how it goes, or on top of the mesh pad?
No, I sandwiched shavings in between top and bottom layers of flower -- but, of course, the stirring allowed the broken-down hash to settle to the bottom. I did this a couple of sessions before realizing I was just about fainting trying to draw any air from even a clean chamber.

I really want to love the Firefly 2. But the battery! Damn, the battery! The only way I can use it is to keep it on the charger all the time. It lasts for about an hour max if not on the charger. I have the wall charger, but that battery drains fast, even when not in use.

I'd imagined being able to take this places, but it's strictly a use at home vape since we are tethered to the charge. Is this normal or is it just mine?

Also, I can't seem to get it to vape evenly. I'm using a coarse grind. Any tips on how to get it to vape evenly. Temp is 420. I'm starting to wonder if I got a defective unit, but it's probably user error. ;-)
