Discontinued Zion vaporizer

I put mine on low and hold it in for a good 8 or 15 seconds. After that it’s low temp bliss that slowly gets hotter if I keep at it.

I’ve been using my Zion pretty much daily while on the go. Absolutely love it. I’ve been reading a couple other threads about these powerful portable full on convection vapes that need to have real dry material. That’s finely ground and all. I don’t need any of these things when using my Zion. Hell my last bit of flower that I purchased was really wet still. And all I do is tear a nice little top off and start vaping. Amazing flavor. Amazing vapor production. Love the fact that it’s not a finicky vape that’s got a ton of parts to fuck with. It just works for me.

@stickstones what is your preheat method? You mentioned in Milaana thread you can run your Zion at low heat setting. I am having to nearly peg mine (around 4:30pm on dial) to get visible vapor. But I am not doing anything except holding down the trigger for a few seconds prior to drawing

What is your orientation for 4:30? Rather what is that in %? To get visibile vapor without heat soaking, you'll want to be above 50% and more like 75 if looking for larger more instantaneous clouds... I've been enjoying my new one a lot too, I do like to preheat a bit before doing a leisurely long temp step session milking a bowl across the dial. You can think of the knob as setting your speed of extraction in a sense, the flavor is great regardless (until the end of the a bowl) and the vapor quality, smooth thick, is just wonderful

Are you using the pinhole modification to the inlet hole? To me, this sounds like the classic mistake of pulling too hard. My experience has been that most of the people who think they're slowed down their draw are still pulling way too hard. (Oh hi @stickstones )

No adjust. And I draw just like I cook my BBQ, low and slow :)

As I described on the last page, I HAVE learned my lesson to not leave both batteries in while traveling out of the house. Fortunately I didn't have to PAY for that new knowledge as Circe wasn't hurt. Never again.
I do typically turn my power knob down low when not in use though
That is actually a good idea. With the dial at zero it might even be safe to leave them in when away, but I love this vape too much to risk her again. Since zero on the dial still produces flavor hits it obviously isn't really zero.

Pulling a battery is no big deal, tho the battery cubby is kinda tight..

Good that you didn't suffer a loss to you dear Circe......now that I have a Zion, I would be pissed at myself if I hurt her!

As far as traveling ANYWHERE out of the house with spare 18650's, they always travel separately, in cases or silicon wraps, then stored inside a Pelican micro. These things are hand grenades under the wrong conditions........

The top panel (above the batteries) suddenly (while sitting untouched on my desk!) fell off my zion. I'm not remotely considering sending it back in for a repair, that takes forever and will be sent to the wrong address... so I screwed it into place using some slot-head brass screws. I have to say that I am both impressed by the ultimate performance (although tbh it is not that ground-breaking) but soooooo sad about the fit and finish and poor customer service. The unit I originally received after a comically long delay and several shipping mishaps was fine, but my replacement unit looks hastily finished. The panels never fit quite flush, it has some rough spots etc. I am comfortable woodworking so I planed it down to fit right and all that, re-oiled it, it will be fine but holy crap for 2+ years of waiting and all that hassle I have gone through, I have to say this thing is a bit anti-climatic. Feel free to ban my account for heresy, I am just registering some legit experience.

Accounts get banned for breaking the rules not just once but five times (or because they are duplicates). You posted legitimate criticism that didn't break any rules, yet you seem to believe it might get you banned. It's an unfair and unjustified innuendo that we moderators don't allow valid criticism. Have you ever read any of the manufacturer threads here, including this one? (Rhetorical question, don't answer.) If you feel that easily intimidated, perhaps this isn't the forum for you. I know that some of you think that I unfairly deal with posts in the RBT threads to protect the manufacturer, but as I have posted before, I do not moderate in those threads precisely to avoid any taint of favouritism.

This is not an invitation for discussion. It's an expression of frustration that despite our efforts to be fair, somebody can imply that we don't allow negative posts and just ignore the enormous amount of evidence to the contrary. If anyone wants to comment on this—pro or con—use a PM. Do not reply here because I will delete it.

Yeah Ryan could have used screws here, but that would have been less aesthetic...

That would also have been an invitation for curious users to open it and peek at the electronics. Not that there is anything to hide here, but that would have required to put some kind of "warranty void if removed" seal, as is the norm on all electronic devices that can be opened.

It's also maybe due to what glue he uses or the way he applies it. Maybe the mating parts should be better prepared? There's definitely room for improvement here, as we saw our fair share of un-glueing events, be it Milaana bottoms, female GonGs on the Mi and Zi, magnets on the Zi, and now the upper door on a Zi...

That being said, while I was writing this post, the door magnets on my mass-produced Joyetech evic VTC mini mod unglued for like the 10th time...

Do you know about the bird?

That is what works for me. Hit, then turn the dial down.

I have to say that I am both impressed by the ultimate performance (although tbh it is not that ground-breaking) but soooooo sad about the fit and finish and poor customer service.

Mine shit the bed a while back. Sent it in and RBT took care of the issue (no heat). My potentiometer is now tilted or pushed off level, perhaps 5-10 degrees or so? Not much, in any event. And it doesn't affect the performance of the unit at all, but aesthetically, it's not "right", if that makes sense. Still, I'll happily live with it. A bit of character. Revisited it a bit tonight and it hits like a freight train. I have been feathering the air intake a bit, which just melts my face right off.

Haven't really used mine since I got the Splinter and Mi2. I really need to whip it out again. Everyone who I've shown loves it though. Really is an incredible vape, and I love the onboard storage. The Splinter just fulfilled my needs for so long and is so much smaller. And now the Mi2 is just an absolute beast. The Zion is the perfect vape to bring to a friend's because it's all you need and you're good to go for the day and it's so easy to use.

Give him a kick. Squeaky wheel and all that.
I waited patiently 2 months cuz I didn't want to bother him and he was waiting for me to give return address.
Don't let the point of failure be you.:myday:

I've followed up twice with no response so far. I'm going to fill out the "contact us" form on Tuesday since it'll be a week since previous email. Thanks for the tip though! I'm assuming with the Splinter just releasing and Mi2 coming out that he's been fairly busy. I'm honestly just happy that he was willing to take it in considering I'm not the original purchaser.

I thought the MI2 wasn't that different technically from the MI1 so I'm surprised you prefer it to the zion. And that you describe it as more of a "beast" than the MI1.
For some reason I prefer single battery vapes which is why I tend not to use the zion. My splinter only uses 1 battery.

Was stoked and a tad humbled to be given the chance to take possession of what showed up yesterday.
Zion # Z01 arrived, as prescribed by the @Vape Dr. himself.
Just scratching the surface, but so far so good. So very good. Seamless transfer from the Milaana to this.
Gonna be a good weekend.
