I'm excited about the production of the spinning TI mouthpieces. I own the TI Woody(okay and the M, sandblasted M and a OG....got a bit of DVAS) and I know I'll buy the Omni in the future.

Currently the Omni is a bit expensive for me, but the modular nature of the Dynavap products could give me an experience close to it... Is it an option to combine the TI Omni body, TI spinning mouthpiece and a TI tip? Then I would have a Omni styled TI Woody. Or a Nomnivap. I don't know how it should be called, but it would be an awesome looking Dynavap vaporizer

@Dutch-Mic, I'm not clear on what you're asking, but I'll take a jab. You'll can't use the ti spinning mp w/ the ti mp/condenser, but you can purchase an SS XL condenser. This is the condenser that you need for a spinning mp set-up: an XL condenser, a spinning mp & any stem to your liking. Post again if I got the question you asked wrong.

Sorry that my question was a bit unclear. It's the language barriere. But you answered my question perfectly, thank you! I'm going to buy the XL ss condenser, ti spinning mouthpiece and a Omni stem.

You are indeed going to want the XL condenser to fit on the MP, Mic.

You may well be happy getting a 7-fin deep spiral Ti tip as well to make a stellar modular ‘Cap.

An example of a lesser one. ( with a wooden mp, and BODY turned around )

@Dutch-Mic, you could also just buy the condenser & the tip & put that on your Woody if it's a stem & not a body. And you can also turn your reg. M or sandblasted M into an upside-down M XLS. Like the pics below. Then when you do get the Omni XL, you'll be able to lego all those parts around. You can then take the Omni stem & make it a XLS & take the Omni mp/condenser & put it on your woody or any 62mm stem.

What a pity that the starter of this very thread, Fenton Mewley, has not been seen on FC since October 2017. Anyone knows what happened?

I wonder often what befell fellow member & friend flotntoke. He'd never leave us if he had control over it. If anyone knows, please pm me.

Edited to add: & @turk has been mia. @fcmember hasn't come around much as of late so I hope she's been well. fc!

Just splitting hairs here @Dutch-Mic , it's not called the Omni stem. Your after the Titanium (Ti) Stem.
The Omni refers to the adjustable condenser unit with the built in fixed mouthpiece. To the Omni you can add a Titanium, wood, or carbon fiber body/stem, pending size of Omni unit.

@SloJimFizz, yes, splitting hairs over terminology. Although technically correct, it's being a little bit of a stickler. As it's the only ti stem that Dynavap has & it's usually just used in the Omni XL configuration. Except when putting another stem on the Omni XL condenser assembly, most users don't use their Omni stems in any other configuration. I too call it the Omni stem, although it really is also a ti stem. I think most users would recognize it as the 2 or 3rd (?) gen. Omni stem.

Not true, @Mr.Sifter. Spinning mp, $20 - $30; SS XL condenser $10, tip $40, cap $20, stem of choice: vong runs $39, a carbon fiber $35. Like $40 cheaper. But this is where I think that for a small difference either way, you should buy what you think you are going to enjoy.

You may want to differentiate between body/stem, Mic, when you buy:doh:;

even with a XL condenser, you may be hard put to put on your Ti mp....:uhh: w/ a Ti stem.....

Yes it is their only Titanium stem and body available. But those can be used in a Uni. And you can use wood stem or body on an Omni.
In a lego world, calling pieces what they are is less confusing.

true, I calculated EU prices including international shipping and taxes.
An omni can be bought "as is" in the EU.

just for example:
the Ti mp will be 30 bucks plus 13(?) for international shipping plus taxes = over 50$ = 42EUR
XL condenser from EU retailer = 13EUR
TI tip from eu retailer= 45 EUR
cap from eu retailer= 25EUR
TI omni stem from eu retailer = difficult, mabe import from dynavap... plus taxes. mmmh, price is 50$ plus tax (without shipping bc of ti tip, could be included) = 60$ = 50EUR

Sooo. A Ti Tipped omni Stem vapcap with Ti spinning moutpiece for a EU citizen =

42+13+45+25+50 =175EUR = 213 $

ooor you could buy everything from george direct.
lets see:

Ti MP = 30$
XL Condenser = 10$
Ti Tip = 40$
Cap = 20$
Ti omni stem = 51$

30+10+40+20+51 = 151$

plus international shipping = 13(?)$ = 164$ = 134 EUR plus 19% tax = 160EUR

mmmh.

I guess I will have to stick with a Ti tipped M.
or wait for 4/20 or blackfriday

im tired now

#ok, @Summer : you are right.
its "cheaper" than a Omni XL.

vaping gear from the US is really expensive for us folks in the EU.

I would love to buy from ratchet, interplanetary and george, though

so nice from dynavap to have an "idendity package" on shipping.
a green "bubble" bag.
so nice

enjoy

p.s. And I dont know what is inside.
i could guess.
i only know where its from

could be caps, could be stashs, could be lighters, could be parts, could be all of it

Just last week I messaged George about helical cooling fins. His reply was that there's a lot of difficulty in the machining of Ti Gr2 and it's very milling intensive. It's been on his mind for quite some time but hasn't been realized yet. It would greatly improve the efficiency of the cooling fins and also add a lot of strength to the tip which has stress risers where the fins are attached normally.

I wasn't making any direct comparison to the Omni XL as @Dutch-Mic was talking about wanting to make an XLS w/ the Omni ti stem.

Can't help it @SloJimFizz, I will always look at it & my brain thinks Omni stem, & it's identifiable to other as such. Now, the top & bottom of the cap is another story. It isn't always clear to me what end a poster is talking about. Makes me nuts.

Anyway, here's a huge post I wrote overnight. I took the VapeCritic's advice to "Stay Up!" so I guess that's why my fingers were so chatty. It's well past daybreak & I have to decide if I'm gonna sleep Sunday away.

@analytica, read my post, you might want to try the following.

I played around w/ the vc modularity the last couple of days. As I've already posted a couple of times, I am not a fan of the Omni faceted stem due to it texture -- fingers don't like the tactile sensation, & the total inability to feel the carb unless I'm looking directly at it. And yes, I full-well, know that I am in a small minority around these parts. ;)

*An aside, I replaced the O stem w/ a @stardustsailor stem (which, btw, I'm loving), & on which I'm gonna put one of my new 7-fin tips on. And I'm excited about turning my M into an upside-down M XLS. But I digress.

Well, I was originally thinking of trading the O stem for a blackwood vong stem (can anyone describe what blackwood tastes like?), but what I did was put the ti stem on the M-size condenser & made a ti M. I put the stem on upside-down as when upright the carb placement is way close to the lips which is not comfortable holding that high up (which is my other gripe about the O stem, besides the diamond-shaped carb). So, upside down, the carb hole is 45% from the mp. It's significantly lighter in weight than an M which for me makes it much more enjoyable to hold. Combine this lightness with the short length & it's perfect for oot & about. Tested it out for 2 days now, works great.

BTofW, I ask @VapCap to seriously consider adding the option of choosing between this & another ti stem design. I'm sure it would make us in the minority happy. :) A repromote of the middle stem in the pic below with a re-positioned oval or round carb hole that's positioned 55-60% down from the top when tip end is attached. Looks like a comfortable, non-slip texture for holding.

There was a terrific shot of the stem on dynaverse. Took me forever scrolling in slo-mo, only not to find it. How I abhor the FB interface.

The one in the middle is the one I like. Didn't even know there were prior versions.

Also, wanted to mention that brief discussion on grooves in the 7-fin thread. I paid attention tonight when emptying the bowl using the digger to see what impact the grooves had. Well, when I digger around the internal circumference of the bowl, I don't even feel any grooves; the digger is flush to the wall when scraping. So I don't get the issue.

@tragique, love me the dynavap doob tubes, too. When they break, they owe you nothing. How about some opaque white ones, George?

Tonight, when using my PS IH, I couldn't help but thank the good powers that be for having it. It is a luxury. I am hoping that Dynavap does make a stealth IH ... but, I want it to be a hit-it-out-of-the-ballpark design; even if it takes a year to come to fruition, I can wait.

Also waiting for @phattpiggie's 2-piece IH wood version for taking out & about, but I think he recently said that it's now on the back burner because he has so much work. Our little phattpiggie is going into mass production. His stems are now on the radar of the EU retail stores. :rockon:Sadly, we will no longer have him all to ourselves. As @ataxian might say, Our (FC) goose is cooked?

Have a great Sunday (or if over the IDL, Monday) everyone! Stay up!

Edited to add: @stark1, I have no problem using the ti tip on the standard length condenser.

A stress riser is a spot in the metal where stress from machining accumulates in the crystaline structure of the metal. Cracks generally start at stress risers.

Trying to identify my Ti Omni. So I have the Q3 2016. What version/s of tip came with that? They all are nice, But I feel like a lucky duck to have a version 2 non XL. Notice how it tapers near where the tip is inserted and how narrow the stem is. :cool:The tip feels more solid with the body when the condenser is in choke (?) mode. This design choice is what I would want in a fully personally designed stem.

I played around w/ the vc modularity the last couple of days. As I've already posted a couple of times, I am not a fan of the Omni faceted stem due to it texture -- fingers don't like the tactile sensation, & the total inability to feel the carb unless I'm looking directly at it. Wow, thought the faceted stem would be easier to find the hole in the dark. I do prefer uniformity, But wanted to see the upsides of Version 3. Do love the texture and carb placement of the V2 a lot. Felt like I had to fumble for it more with the M and it's smooth cylinder surface. The cylinder surface of the M is a plus for adapters and modding. Where my Omni is honed for direct draws. :2c: Others might find that one functions better in another area than what I've experienced and that can be as true for them as what I'm experiencing.
I blame the versatility and utility of all the choices for not allowing a single truth to emerge. The amount of mass being used with each tip design another factor.

I would very much like to see a helical prototype. I don't think it would be something that is production friendly but would be cool none the less.

@Summer Sharp corners, grooves and notches can concentrate the forces being put on the material and locally exceed the strength of the material. This results in tearing, cracking, or stretching at that location which only becomes worse as time goes on.

While the Vapcap tip isn't being subjected to a lot of high forces during normal use, having extra strength in the part can be greatly beneficial to machining operations.
