Hello, I'm excited to join you guys here! I just received my Arizer Solo 2 today and it's charging as we speak! I've been eyeing the Arizer Solo 1 ever since it came out and it's awesome to see how many different upgrades they have now. After reading every single review out there, I decided to buy the Arizer Solo 2 because of the good flavor, battery life, and easy maintenance. Tomorrow will be my first test run with it. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Howdy! I think I can speak for the good folks here 'bouts and say we're very pleased to have a new Member/friend.

You've obviously done your homework, I predict good times ahead for you, and hope you drop by and brag a bit?

Whatever you do, don't let @ataxian near your glass......he breaks stuff.....

I certainly have been enjoying my Solo 2 since last June. @kreaturebait you mentioned all the important finer points of the upgraded Solo. Who doesn’t like good flavor, easy maintenance and the battery life plus all the bells and whistles. I love being able to set my Solo to whatever temp that I want. I’ve chosen the 15 min session for most of the time. The session time can be changed. I set my beeper on low but that can be completely turned off.

@OF Thanks for the warm welcome! All of the other vaporizers on the market seem like they would be hard to clean. They have o rings and plastic parts which I don’t really like(if you lose any of those parts, you’re screwed). I know I’ll be using the Solo 2 frequently so easy maintenance is a must since flavor and vapor quality is important to me. @CarolKing I can’t wait to mess with the settings and test this thing out. The 15 minute setting is probably about right for me too. I got it in mystic blue and it looks nice!

Unfortunately, I think you have a point. We get a potentially inaccurate view since we're such a small fraction of the total but we're sure seeing a LOT more troubles with this new version.

Did anyone ever have an 'error code' type failure with Solo I? Some 'lock ups' happened as I recall, but they were all 'fixed by reset'? How many ever had to send one in for repair under warranty?

In the larger picture, a single return is a big deal to the maker. Just one can eat up the profits from a bunch of other units. IMO they want to be on top of this and quickly. We can/should trust that to happen although we might never know what changes might come of it. There is, of course, a solid reason for not inviting every past owner to demand a replacement?

It's a great vape, the maker will stand by it should we have troubles as individuals. I'm enjoying mine and intend to continue to, but I'm also being careful with stems........

OTOH, none of my Solo Is (and there have been many) has missed a beat. That's many many hundreds of sessions I've done over the years, but I've 'passed on' half a dozen or more ('last call' buys from PIU passed on at about $70 average?) and given two away outright. I also have one out on loan.....somewhere. None of those have reported problems (I'm sure to hear about all but one of them).

I use the SOLO 1 still. (because it work's)

SOLO 2 would be nice to own one day?

Let me get this straight. I understand Solo had some fairly minor problems early on, before I showed up? Chipped bowls, 'wrong temperatures' and such? Then you got one anyway and all the problems went away?

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't it be smart if you got a Solo II so those minor problems will disappear as well? Come on, for the good of all the rest of us..........

You can paint it any color you want.

Arizer has OEM gongs.

And they work magnificently! I wish I would have ordered both a 18mm and a 14mm, but I only got a 14mm since thats what my current water tools are, but it would be nice not being held down to just 14mm.

Im glad that I realized that I wanted the GonG just before I ordered my solo2, saves on shipping. You may get lucky and have a head shop that stocks Arizer accessories nearby you and forgo the shipping fee, albeit at slight markup.

Doing some maintenance on my solo2 before taking it to a family function this evening, I love how little it takes to get it back into pristine practically new condition. Ive had my solo2 for about a month and a half now, and it has been used quite heavily in that time, and this is only the second time Ill have swabbed out the oven area, I do use a small brush in there occasionally but Im impressed with how little it takes to keep it working well.

I'm not going to get to cautious. I only use Arizer stems. But I have been experimenting with water filtration with great results. But my getto setup only uses original parts no gongs etc.
I agree if your condition permits?

@OF I will buy a SOLO 2 if this OLD SOLO would die as CHUCKIE could kill it!

I was in this same boat and jumped in when Arizer.com was offering their 20% discount over the holidays. I already had a 18mm, so I ordered a 14mm, some spare stems, and some caps. FWIW April 20th isn't too far away. :brow:

I think I posted elsewhere in this thread that I eventually received the package from an IL address and it wasn't very well packaged...while each stem was individually bubble wrapped in a small sleeve, everything was thrown in a large empty box. When I picked up the box you could hear glass rattling inside. They should have wrapped everything in bubble wrap before putting in the box. Fortunately nothing broke!

I also wish it was possible to acquire the plastic tubes they ship their stems with (speaking from when my Solo 2 was new in packaging). It's a clear plastic tube with a stopper that fits both the 110mm and 90mm stems while they have their silicone caps on. I like to put my 110mm in it when I plan to be out/about for vaping, it provides an odor barrier and protection for the stems!

True that 4/20 isnt too far off, I think Ill take your advice and purchase some of the accessories I want when they put the sale on. Its not that I think the accessories are overpriced, Im just sorta frugal- although if I broke everything and needed replacements, Id bite the bullet and order before a sale. Ill just make sure not to invite @ataxian over to my place unless I have bubble-wrap carpeting put down first.

The tubes you speak of are fantastic, I agree it would be nice if Arizer were to make them available or perhaps even ship the stems people buy extra in them, or add a option for it.
Thats weird about how they shipped your stuff, I remember reading the post. Im glad that you didnt have to deal with the hassle of anything arriving broken, but still it must have been a little unsettling getting a package with glass rattling around loose inside. Im sure that something must have been up, perhaps they ran out of the brown paper Ive always had in my boxes to fill void space, but still bubble-wrap or something would surely have been better than nothing as you say.

Had a couple stems of some beautiful pink kush in my soloII this evening at a family dinner, such fantastic flavour!

Interesting. Guess I'm breaking all the rules coz I put insert stems into a cold unit..

Yup that was me as well, Insert cold stem and turn on the unit. I also had an Error 5 appear
a few days before the Error 7 appeared, but i attributed that to having the solo 2 sitting in my car overnight at -18C and turning it on the next morning without letting the unit warm up a bit in the house.

Who knows?

I do know that Arizer backs their customers, so Its all good!

I payed $9 Canadian to ship my damaged unit to Arizer, But.. with the new unit came 2 new stems (to compensate for the $9 shipping fee I'm guessing), they also included a new Charger (replaced the original one I sent in with the damaged Solo 2) . Arizer shipped me a new unit with Express Delivery at No Charge... Sweet!

I noticed the color of my new Mystic Blue is slightly different than my first one, more of a darker Blue tone.
I also noticed the % counter display on the LCD while the battery charges, Never seen this on my old Solo 2 or just maybe to lifted to notice.. cool!

Very Happy Now!!

Thanks Arizer

Cheers

Your solo2 has a % battery meter now!!? thats terrific news, I almost hope mine needs warranty now lol!

edit nevermind, I re read it and see you said, while charging, one can dream though. Its still nice to know at least when charging what its at % wise, Im grateful to have the feature over the battery indicator of the Og solo, not that I had one.

If you order plastic travel tubes from PlanetVape.ca they hold all sizes of the stems, water proof (smell proof), and perfect for protecting your stems during a fall or for cleaning.

I'm not sure if the offer the OEM Arizer gongs on the site but it doesn't hurt to ask - they had a special that included both the 14 and 18 upon release

I love this Vape!

Interesting, but I disagree. Then again, I have a Solo I (actually a few....) so I know it has a seven step battery meter. Solo II has four? I see that as a step backwards.......

In such things resolution is important I think. Solo I gives you 'a session per LED' that you can count on.

Nice that they show % of charge while charging, too bad they didn't think to put it on display when you're using it. Even a flash of the number on start up (like Solo I does) would be useful?

I used my Solo 2 today and everything is good so far. I had a little trouble finding a good temperature but I think I like 395 degrees F. I like the high airflow stem the best right now. The vapor quality is good and it was a perfect way to micro dose whenever I wanted to. The flavor was also really good! I vaped some Ghost Train Haze and Starkiller OG from Rare Dankness.

Always learning something new, Ill have to try a OG solo if I ever get the chance. I wish I would have started taking vaping seriously a long time ago, Id have saved enough money to have so many more vaporizers by now!

It's still not too late, they still make 'em and they're a lot cheaper now that the Solo II is out:
http://www.planetvape.ca/solo-vaporizer.html

Unfortunately, IMO the superior version that you could power by the mains with a special adapter is no more. We 'demanded' and got 'use while charging' (like a cell phone) instead. While there are some guys having some troubles with Solo II (hopefully minor and soon resolved), Solo I has a reputation for 'tank like' survival. Hey, @ataxian has been using his considerable skills but still can kill his.....

We can break glass together.

Love it, ever the team player. It's inspirational the way you offer to teach the new guys the tricks of glass breaking.

This place just wouldn't be as much fun without you......don't run off now.....

THAT SINKING FEELING......I once got a package like that. Unfortunately, the glass rattling WAS a $1200.00 soxhlet extractor. It arrived in about 5000 pieces. Yeah sure, throw it in a box, cross your fingers and ship it across the country. Some shippers don't have the brains God gave geese. Glad InhaleExhales' experience was better.
