It's depressing to see the Solo thread slip past page 2, but newsworthy Solo events don't happen constantly so I'll create one. I can't remember the last time I used a dry stem; it's always pinnacle at work or bubbler at home, so I think I should give it a try.
Not having gone into the gadget bag for many months, I opened it to look for a stem, which I found (a nice curved one), then whoa, what's that in the bottom? When was the last time I used that big grinder with the hatch on the side? Sure enough there's enough in there for 2 or 3 good loads of stuff that must be 2 years old. No problem with this not being dry enough! Number 5, and.....
What's that beeping noise?

FUNNY YOU!

My SOLO (pink) won't die?
This morning after ESPRESSO level 5.

I like number 4 usually.

Time to change the battery pack in my SOLO!

YEEHAW!

VapeWorld.com has reduced prices on Solo and Air by a whole $10!

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Pretty good deal for a vape that puches well above it's cost. Around 5-10% off without doing any math.

I would be peeved with only $10 on a Solo II but $20 would be fair. Or the extras most of these companies throw us for doing business.

What would be a fair discount for you?

I actually got a buddy $10 off an OG Solo for Christmas - he was and still is stoked with the unit and discount

Swell. I knew this would end up my fault somehow. For the record I have nothing to do with the broken glass......

I just thought of a fun counter to 'Solo is built like a tank'. How about "not all tanks are as well built as Solo"?

OF
Just a saying! (as U know)

My SOLO 1 is built to last! (truthful statement)
Built like a tank! (war saying when thing were well built)

When the corners chip off of tanks around the screws holding them together, the manufacturers re-tool and fix the problem if they want to keep getting government contracts, instead of just unveiling a new model and telling the army they're SOL.

Fun analogy. I like tanks. How about you can build Tigers (technically the hottest thing going ATT, but very expensive and high maintenance) and send them to meet the Russians. They, in turn send ten, 20 or more times the number of T34s (a modest but capable, cheap, easy to use and reliable tank almost 10 years old in design) the other way.

Tigers were constantly evolving to the end, I bet the Russians found changes 'on the drawing boards' when they came to steal the toilets at the factory. T34s were basically all the same. Remember who won? The state of the art machine got beat out by yesterdays news built by very low skilled labor. And with zero training guys would literally drive them off the assembly line, load fuel and ammo and join the fight......often 'witin ear shot'.

Likewise the 'little Sherman' beat back the (much superior) Panzers, mostly because General Motors made them by the thousands instead of cars (did you know we produced almost no cars in WWII?). And we built Liberty ships (really really primitive transports, slow and crude by conventional standards) at one a day (faster than they could be sunk) to deliver them. Lots of 'good enough' can prevail overall.

IMO Solo gives an astounding amount of good service for a modest price. Replacing one is sad, but not really a big deal? Forget the upgrades, make a Solo II, but the Solo I isn't really broken?

Fun. "A Solo in every garage"!

When the fenders came off the Abrams main battle tank at speed they wasted no time fixing it. Did you know that the Johns Manville Co. which made the insulation for those Liberty Ships was the company that had the most lawsuits against it in the entire world (for asbestosis) decades after the war was over? The GMC plant here in Regina used to make the McLaughlin Buick in the 20's and switched over to Shermans, Brens, and 4" naval guns during the war. The Bren Gun Carrier is the only right-hand drive/right-hand shift vehicle I've ever driven (a war relic stored at our armoury in the 70's).

Nor Napoleon as we spell it here......
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napoleon

Not that the spelling is all that important, even in Napoleon Brandy where of course the Brandy part is by far the most important part.

I spent some year's in FRANCE and our spelling can be different.
I read and speak other langues than ENGLISH. (Maybe that's why I misspell word's?)
SOLO and reading kind of go together was all I was saying!!

Any chance anyone has an up-to-date temperature guide/chart (or can take their ol' probe and give it a prod in their Solo)? The extant ones are not very accurate for models post-m106. For example, I have the M1H2 batch, and there are no charts for that.

I'd also be willing to measure myself if someone linked me to whatever tools are required. @OF
