The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Greetings @dynospec
Happy Holidaze and great questions!
I've broken them up into separate quoted replies below.

The most popular kits by far are the V2.5.... V3 specifically for flavor seekers.
With V3 and coarsely or unground herb, you can skim the flavors off your herb before grinding further and re-vaping with V2.5 pieces.
Basically, they bump flavor up a notch by removing a huge portion of the metal from the airpath.

In an EQ equipped with the latest shorty DDave Adapter, the Concentration Chamber excels at processing concentrates that melt into coarsely ground herb.
The herb acts as a sort of wick and the concentrates are siphoned off of them by heated air, similar to using cotton or hemp wick as some mention.

Only ground herb is needed. Will make cleanups easier than if cotton is used.

I've not delved much into Concentrate Pads, but if you could find a small round pad that would fit into the bottom of the Concentration Chamber, that may work a charm.
However, a pad that was larger or smaller than the bottom of the chamber would have negative impact to processing concentrates.

I include Free sample pack of rimless basket screens and the appropriate install tool(s), depending on kit, that you can definitely use.
Though you'll find coarsely ground herb has a much better flavor profile than finely ground herb. (This mentioned on FC many times resulting from member testing).

Hope this helps! Hopefully others who have pieces can also comment on their experiences and best use practices.

Thanks,
DDave
I'm just learning how to vaporize!

The "Q" work's better with @DDave kit.

I like the fan system of the "Q" for water path.

Just my opinion.

Did you know you can easily attach your arizer V tower or extreme Q to a 19 mm bong attachment. You need a 19 mm bong you will need this. https://torontohemp.com/products/arizer-extreme-q-or-v-tower-vaporizer-whip and attach the glass end to the other end of the whip. For those that like bongs this works well.

So essentialy you have one end attached to the bong the other attached to the arizer air. That is what I love about all arizers except for the new airgo that you can attactch to 3rd party devices.

Ddave kit v2.5 is as good an investment as the EQ was when I bought it, it offers so much more versatility, performance and choice over stock pieces, I'm still experimenting with a dual bowl set up at the moment, also waiting for delivery of a new piece of glass from China so results when I pull myself together, if that's possible/desirable? even worth contemplating.
I'm very pleased it eventually arrived after being held by UK customs for a fortnight and a further £10 in VAT and £11 for handling charges before they would deliver, nice to see Royal mail making a profit instead of a loss, it's a bugger I'm having to donate more to it but I'm happy I got my Ddave mod kit, it makes a difference.

Ive been enjoying my EQ so much since getting my DDave minimod kit, its all I use 90% of the time now. I do want to get a 18mm kit really badly aswell now though. I knew I should have just ordered the "complete" mod kit . It really is amazing how much of a difference the DDave adapters make, my only "issue" is that the basket screens get all gummed up so quickly. Its not the worst, as he includes 3 so I keep a shot glass of iso to soak them in, but on a day of heavy use I will gum up all three screens. This is partly due to the herb I use, I believe. When I do order more stuff from DDave I will definitely want to get more 14mm basket screens though haha.

@DDave I wanted to ask, is the price for rimmed 14mm basket screens on your website correct? Just wondering, also I was never able to get the rimless ones you included in to my wand piece which replaces elbow, are they meant to be able to fit? Thanks for all that you do

Greetings @dynospec

Yep, the price on the 14mm baskets is correct. The rimless ones included are a bit challenging to get in, but their screen mesh is larger so the screens will gum up less frequently. I will get to making a video to demonstrate as soon as time permits.

On a side note, have you tried a more-coarse grind in case it's particulate plant matter that is contributing to the clogging?

Thankyou for the answers! I feel alot more confident to try a little harder getting one in now, I was just worried that perhaps it wasnt meant to be and I didnt want to risk breaking any of the pieces that I love so much now!

I do try to keep things on the coarser side, but sometimes it doesnt work out that way. I did take your advice and tried whole nugs a few times, the flavour is absolutely amazing, and I was pretty happy with how thorough the extraction was (busted first few up after and loaded again, produced little to no vapor). I save my AVB anyways, so happy with getting most of the goods.

Im excited to try and get a rimless screen in now, as I thought it might be cool to use it like how a adjustable e-nano stem is.

edit* Got one of the rimless screens in, and after preliminary testing, I like it alot! Will have to use more to determine but good first impressions!

Gladly!

That's quite understandable that you'd have concerns over breaking the wand. ( I had the same concern when I was test driving the rimless screens, but as you can imagine, I have a few wands around to experiment with... ;) )

Out of all the pieces in my kits, the wands are by far the most sturdy. I had a feeling they would be the most often dropped part, so I have them made as thick as possible.

Agreed! I switched over to a pyramid toothed grinder just due to the flavor. The teeth are like those cheapie plastic grinders you get with some purchases for free, but it's metal. It more tears apart the herb, rather than grinding, and it leaves the flavor intact.

Glad you like it! Let me know how you feel about the mesh after you've used it for a while. I used a finer mesh than the ones you have during testing, but they gunked up quickly too.

I must say, I am impressed with the coarser rimless screen, I can get through a whole week now with a single screen, rather than using 3 in one day. Im quite happy with that, as its a dramatic difference and I dont notice any more bits getting through the filter than before, at least that I can see.

Its nice when the screen doesnt foul up so quickly, as the airflow+taste remain optimal for much longer. I never enjoy when the screen is clogged and Im trying to clear the bubbler/bong or whatever and the screen is clogged thus making it rather difficult to clear. I could always simply pull the whip adapter that goes into the bong, but then I feel Id be leaving vapor in the whip, I do use a short piece so it wouldnt be a big deal I guess.

One really awesome thing I got the other day, which I really love is a little mustard spoon to spoon loads that are consistent in size into the funnel and into the EQ DDave adapter. Its a "Robert Welch" mustard spoon I saw when perusing Crate and Barrel (I love the kitchen stuff they have its so nice). Its a great tiny little spoon, and its perfect for what I wanted.

For anyone trying to find a scoop for their herbs, I recommend mustard spoons as a cheaper alternative to other cannabis specific scoops

It's great to hear the rimless screens are working for you.

Do you have a scale? If you do, can you weigh out a dose that you pull off that mustard spoon? I've been looking for a while for a good scoop I can include with the kits so I'll be grateful if you found the one!

Of course! I just did a couple quick tests, and a regular not heaping spoonful of coarse ground herb on average works out to .05. After I finish vaping Ill weigh some more spoonfuls, and a few 1/3s (what Ive been using for a quick single hit from time to time) and let you know what it comes out to.

I really love this spoon, more than I though Id ever love a spoon haha. It brings so much more consistency to my sessions which is great, as I had a hard time especially at first when I got the mod getting the same amount of herb into the "bowl". The funnel is amazing at keeping things clean, and I love it quite a bit aswell, along with the tongs haha. All so great, makes using the EQ so much better.

Thanks for the info and .05 G is awesome.
Glad to hear you're liking the extras that come with the kit too.

When I search for that spoon I found a lot of different examples all over the place. Would you have a link handy to the one you bought?

Thanks!

For sure, I also have a hard time finding them online it seems, one page I found that for sure has the right spoon is in the UK I believe, but Im sure there is someone with them in NA. Perhaps if you were to inquire with them, they could either point you to people/organisations which have made large purchases close to you, or offer a fair deal on a bulk order.

https://www.robertwelch.com/dining/cutlery/cutlery_ranges/radford/radford_bright_condiment_spoon.htm

Thats the listing I found that is definitely the right spoon, if this particular one doesnt work out, perhaps mustard spoons in general may be a good starting point for searches. I must say, this spoon in particular is quite nice, very well made.

**Edit This is the same spoon I think https://www.crateandbarrel.com/caes...ror Mustard Spoon&ta=robert welch must&rac=p1

I just purchased and received this monster on Friday. Being my first real vape I gotta say I love the high off this thing. I love the bag I love the whip I love i can leave it on for hours.

The only things I'm unsure of is if I am well medicated but the herb isn't fully done can I leave it in the elbow pack or the bowl and let it stay heated for later or if I let it cool down the reheat my product will it still have life left in it.

Ddave I am buying your kit to make capsules since it comes with the shorter heating element.

Am I dumb when I do the elbow pack I'm filling the bowl then pressing down or is that too much weed.

Greetings friend, the kit that you're thinking about comes with the taller adapter. This allows enough space to make a decent number of capsules worth of processed herb. The shorter adapter would really limit the amount of product that you could process.

Has anyone had an issue with the digital display or an Err6 problem? My display has gone blank a few times now. It doesn't respond if I push any buttons on the unit or the remote. If I turn it off and back on it's fine again. Last night, I left the room for a couple minutes and the display had an Err 6 message on it when I got back. The balloon I had on there had blown up to fill size, but with just air. The heating element had shut itself off.

Thats no good, sorry to hear you are having troubles. I suggest you contact Arizer, and they will take care of you. I dont think theres much info on what the error codes mean, or how to fix the unit once they present themselves.

I contacted Arizer support earlier and he had two initial suggestions. The first is to keep an eye on the LED light on the power adapter to see if it flickers or does anything other than remain green. The second is to take it apart and dust the circuit boards with compressed air.

Hmm, so did you follow the suggestions, and if so what was the result? I know some people have had issues with their power supply units for their EQ's in the past so its possible that is all that is wrong, and given the described scenarios it seems it could be the cause.

How new is your unit? Just curious.
