Got my new mv1 finally today. I can't get more than one draw a crucible what am I doing wrong? Also when I got the vape I took apart the heat sink and put it back together, it was almost impossible to take it off and I can get it to seal like it was sealed originally. Idk what I'm doing wrong

Are you saying the load is spent after one draw? How long a draw at which setting?

When I put the heat sink together, I assemble it before inserting it into the device. I make sure the side of the gasket with the indentation is on the side of the heat sink with the matching groove. I then put the cap on, starting with that grooved side. I THINK this is correct but I’m out of country and don’t have the device handy.

On any level, I only get one draw of vapor. Not spent after. I even up the temp after the first hit and nothing

This post is not directed at a specific user, per se...

But if your goal with this device is to end up something akin to this:
Then it will no doubt perform like a charm...

This is not really a brainless, dump it in, “set it and forget it”, suckle like a newborn type device. It’s an extremely versatile on-demand powerhouse and very customizable, of course you have to click more...

I received a new heat sink recently and I could not get it apart. My old sink had a very small gap. I don't think it was leaking whatsoever but CS of Ghost wanted to be sure and sent me a new one. My wonderful wife who is much more spatially adept was able to part it with difficulty once she saw how the old one was put together. A bit of nail and a bit of thumb and a part it came.

Did you come here to rant, or do you really want to work this thing out?

If it's the latter, then I think you need to supply some more information. What temps were you using? Is the flower dry or moist? How's the pack? I see so many people talking about a light tamp. I prefer tapping ever so lightly on The Crucible side to get it to "settle".

Many convection Vapes have notoriously needed stirring / mixing up to efficiently extract all the goodies. You can also try temp step vaping. Start that baby out on Amber 2 for a couple of draws then up to Amber 3 for a couple of draws and then red level 1 or so for the final.

While most people have reported seven to eight draws per Crucible I routinely get four to five. I'm not sure what you're expecting but we're only a couple draws away. How many draws were you anticipating from .08g?

I came here primarily to rant. That's because I'm frustrated!

I'm getting ZERO response when trying to reach Ghost Vapes. I completed their contact form on their website. Emailed them twice. So far all I'm getting is silence.

I tested on all pre-set temps. Tried temp step too.

I tried shaking, tapping, stirring, whatever. Watched almost every YouTube video on how to use the device.

I ordered the MV1 based on the excellent feedback and strong reviews provided by the Vape Critic. Who I now have found out that has a financial stake in the MV1. Unfortunately, my experience with the MV1 was entirely different than what I was led to expect based on the marketing and promotion done by Ghost vapes directly and through its stakeholders. I’m finding that the device did not come even close to performing at a level that’s acceptable for a device of this stature and cost. Despite following the instructions on the box, their website, watching many videos and walkthroughs, I’ve been unable to produce the kind of vapor quality and consumption promised. I was shocked to discover that their return policy doesn’t allow any returns once the device is opened. However, their product simply does not live up to the promises the company implied and the device is falsely advertised.

This isn't my first rodeo with convection vapes. Here are a few I've owned over the last few years:
  • DaVinci IQ
  • Pax 1,2 and 3
  • Firefly
  • Herbalizer (still own one and love it)
  • Volcano digital
  • Plenty
There were a few others as well. My point is, that I have experience using convection vapes. The Ghost MV1 has been the worst let down I've ever experienced.

The only vape in your collection I think is comparable to the Ghost is the Firefly, which I find remarkably similar. How’d you do with that, and does any of your experience with that one help here?

I don’t have one of these critters, but over on the Vapelife.com forum, Ghost Has a strong customer service presence. They seem to be doing everything possible to help customers with MV1 problems. I think their handle is ghostvapesofficial over there. If you join that forum you can send them a personal message and
They will respond.

The Vapelife forum is run by the Vape Critic and I’ve seen him even offer to buy back your MV1 If you can’t get it working to your liking.

The fastest way to get mv-1 support for me is to post on Vapelife.com forum. Patrick is quick and responsive. I also had horrible luck with that online form. I'm new here so I don't know what my limits are with links and such.

I know you don't know me from a hole in the wall but I will say the mv-1 can be a great Vape and works well. Ghost will help you and if you really just don't want it, tell Bud. He just bought one back from someone today.

Interesting as well there is a thread there with people that started out same as you who are now enjoying mv1s a few days later with some new heat sinks.

There are lots of things to try but you seem set on returning it, that's probaby your best option. Find something you like and will have fun with.

Just a long shot, dry, dry flower, no sticky gooey. Take apart and reassemble heat sink. APP or no APP?

At first I hated this Vape, until I realized that I needed to push down my load in the crucible. I'm literally stuffing my material in the crucible with any grind and getting good results.. The hits I get from this are pretty damn close to what would be a one hit on the glass symphony just not as much material and heat being used. I can see why people might not be entertained to this Vape it can be a session but it's not really a session vape. I need to go pick out some top shelf bud for further testing and I need to grab some concentrates for testing as well :-). I will update more with further testing. But for now I'd say this Vape is a pretty damn good one hitter

Thanks, I reached out to Bud over there. I'm not looking to cause drama. I'm extremely passionate about vaping and vapes. I don't understand companies that ignore emails from customers. It's ok to take a day or two but to just ignore emails? That makes me question the people and especially the product this company created.

I pre-dried my flowers. Tried everything. I get two nice draws and then a semi-ok 1/2 draw. So that's about 2.5 draws per crucible.

I do appreciate the suggestions, thanks.

LOL! It's probably one of the most expensive one-hitters ever created!! The quality of the vapor is superb. I can't argue that. I tried pushing down on my load but found that caused 1/2 of my product to go complete.ly wasted. I was able to take the flower and get two solid bags in my Herbie. I never recycle but this was purely unused flowers.

Yeah I can agree it's definitely one of the most expensive one hitters I have ever bought. But like you said the vapor is pretty damn good I feel when I had a Malana is it kind of did the same thing I got one really big good draw , And then I had to stir The bowl and never got that really big hit that I got the first drop basically. I have been able to get three or four hits sometimes. I do like the fact that I can just push the button it heats up and it lets me know when to draw hydra as long as I want or as long as it lets me draw and Walla simple as that. I can't stand the fact that conduction is Always cooking my load. Plus I feel the conviction results as far as the effects are damn good for me or opposed to conduction results it just doesn't give me that high that offer from convection

IIRC the Davinci IQ and pax 1, 2, and pax 3 are conduction vapes. Help me out here @OF.

After about maybe 20 crucibles (prolly more) I have to clean the Heatsink. It's just caked with reclaim already. This strain is very resinous.
edit: I pulled my Glass mouthpiece out a tad bit more. Wow, game changer, all of a sudden I can hit this bowl multiple times no stirring and huge clouds. Wowie. I literally have the mp as far as it can go with a secure hold

I have tried the 'stickstones' method of loading this vape though I have found that it is easier to about half fill the crucible with pushed down whole buds. If the crucible is full it is hard to turn it and then hard to crumble without overflow. I am still experimenting with this method which I use exclusively for the FF2.

Hey fellas I have a quick question , I stumbled upon this thread recently and this vape caught my eye. There is someone I know thru a different forum he was using the MV1 today and I quoted his post telling him I was about to pull the trigger on one. He then told me not to do that and that he had a beta unit he can send me for free, I only have to send him a shipping label.

My question is can I update this unit to whatever firmware and can I use the app with it ?.

What vapes do you have that don’t get gunked up after 20 sessions? I had the whole family home for two weeks and had no opportunity to clean a vape. None of them saw 20 sessions and all were filthy. I couldn’t wait to clean them when the family went back to school. This included: Grasshopper, Firewood 3, Firewood 4, MV1 and Prima.

I’m not aware of a reason why you couldn’t update the software/firmware but you might check in with Patrick on the Vape Life forum. Patrick is awesome.

This is def not the vape for me :(. Atleast someone will get a good deal on this high priced vape... this vape is def good just has a lot left to be desired.

How does it fail to meet your expectations? If your goal is to help others, detail will make a big difference.

First I go through soooo much weed with this thing. I don't like that sometimes I get one hit,2 hits 3 hits mayb?. Loading and unloading hot ass crucibles every time I take a draw. The crucible system alone is enough for me to just not like it. I want to love this piece but I just don't

Is there An adapter/mod for water? I changed my mind and am keeping this vape. I gave it another go and boom! To me imo this thing is a tastier more effective vapcap on steroids without Butane. You can get several nice hits or one huge hit. Half pack and lighter pack with dry trees is the best :). Besides the latcch getting hot and the crucibles constantly needing a brushing or I torch them. Need some trates now to get that experience. I have combusted in this thing. It's super powerful, that's for sure.

Brother, could you please let us know why you changed your opinion? I'm bout to make a purchase of a "high power" vape soon. Currently my thoughts are jumping between the EVO, Tubo Evi, MV1 and some other contented, but these are the main ones.

I also see that you've owned have the Tubo before, mind comparing?

Best regards
k
