#10. I wonder what numbers the ones who already received theirs were.
Time to start deciding on the rest of the equipment. Fortunately all the research is done by others here.

Brought my Splinter over to my friends house and they loved it. One has a Milaana and a Nano, the other has my old LSV, a GH, flowermate.

One friend savored the lowered temps and was in love with the flavors. I think I overheard "wow, perfect". And the other one being a heavy hitter was going for thick clouds through bubbler I brought.

Splinter held up just fine through it all. Basically nonstop vaping and no problems. Told them keep the temp between 360 and 440 and no chance of combustion. Just throw it on any glass, double click of you like cruise mode, and rip.

Not a single issue.

Is there somewhere where all the info is in 1 place about best mods for the splinter, tips about using etc. Even simple instructions for those of us unfamiliar with mods. I know it's all here in this thread somewhere but wonder if it's around in a more concentrated state.

You're in the very place you seek.

Hey does any body know how much we are going to be shelling out when our number comes up? On a pretty strict budget here as we are about to build a house and will have to be prepared when the time comes and #139 is called

I think it's somewhere between 99 and 109 but I could definitely be mistaken. But that should be a decent ballpark

Sweet can work that into the equation. Thanks...
Those are the same numbers I had in my head. Though cant remember where I got them from
Heres to hoping the numbers are correct and the exchange rate is kind to me when its my turn!

I don't know guys. I think the number will be closer to $129 on this. There are a few reasons:

1. There needs to be margin in there for retailers to help grow the business. No not unique to this item.
2. This is still a relatively low volume item so the margin needs to be there in order to make this worth while for Ryan to stay in business.
3. The performance dictates the premium price. This is the best dry herb atty that I have tried and I don't think there is even anything upcoming that will be able to compare (modpod looks promising but he's a ways off from bringing it to market).

And to further put that third point into context I will provide you this example.

Put this $129 (assumed price) on top of this $100 DNA mod and you are at $229. This is only $10 more than a standard Milaana Maple package and costs less than an exotic Milaana package.

Now you don't need to spend $100 on a mod box. You can find one suitable for as little as $30 and be well under $200 all in.

Why invest in something like this?

1. Build quality. These things are pretty nice and you will notice the premium materials and fit/finish.
2. Style. Yes this is not as important but it is a real nice fit for the Splinter. Some of you don't care too much about asthetics but if you are like me, you do. Go ahead and call me a snob!
3. Performance. This is really where it's at! I have several mod boxes and I did the beta testing on the Splinter with a Tesla TC box. I never used TC with the Tesla (only wattage mode) because i didn't notice much difference. Now I am using this DNA mod and holy shit I think the performance is topping my Zion! Yes that's right I said better than Zion! I'm running nickel temp mode at 36 watts/365 temp and the vapor quality is amazing. Very tasty, consistent and just perfect density. You fire and the DNA mod pegs the temp with zero fluctuation in about .5 seconds.

Here is what it looks like....

Splinter on the right with 7th floor stubby mouthpiece. The other mods/atty's are for concentrates.

Need some extra cooling? I'm using this longer custom mouthpiece at home...

A good alternative is to do what @AJS is doing and get something that can run Arctic Fox but if you don't mine springing a little more for improved build quality/aesthetics go all in on a DNA mod. I doubt you'd be disappointed.

Been rocking the latest Splinter for weeks and it is really kick ass. I for sure will be doing a full video review no later than the first or second week of February. The Splinter is a beast! More to come and sorry i haven't been more vocal.

Cheers

There is a mod thread dedicated to on demand 510 vapes on ask FC btw everyone :)

I can't express how much I'm loving this vape. Temp mode is just incredible for close 18mm bowls and Wattage mode is perfect for 14mm bowls that are further away. My temp mode won't glow red no matter how long I cruise for which is exactly what I want. Wattage mode can eventually get red even on lowish temps because it seems to climb longer like the Milaana.

The hits are as big as you want, vapor literally doesn't stop, flavor is pure as can be, abv is great when I rotate the Splinter if on higher temps. Like I said, I still haven't used my Zion. You guy really are lucky you didn't have to wait 2 years of pre order to get this kind of vape haha. It was fun though so I really didn't mind!

Basically what you have with this vape broken down:
An easy to use hard hitting convection vape with a similar signature to the LSV that gets to temp within 5 seconds or less.
The ability to have more vaping possibilities than most portables out there and switch between a session convection vape, a 1 hitter, an on demand vape, or whatever you want that convection allows.
The clouds are thick, full bodied, and will hit you like some of the strongest of desktop vapes.

When I first got the Splinter and had my shitty mod that would misfire and only could be pressed for 10 seconds and had poor temp control, the honeymoon phase wore off real quick. It was just a solid convection vape then. And I went right back to the Zion. But once I got a fully working mod with decent tempcontrol and FJ software, it became an absolute beast. I think anyone who finds something as good or better than me or can repeat my results will be extremely satisfied. I don't know how, getting the same results as me, someone wouldn't love this vape.

Edit: took abv pics. First pic is about 5 hits on lower-med temps. Bumped the temp up from 380 to 430 (not actually 430 based off how I have my coil resistance tuned) and took a pic after each hit and stirred. This is the result!

Looks darker in the pics. You can see in the very last palmed abv pic it isn't too dark. Nothing was charred, I just wanted to show you could get full extraction.

Bought a whip from a local head shop. Unfortunately it's shit. Besides that, the experience was super chill and the clouds were nice, thick, and cold. Lotta fun and definitely recommended if you get a good flexible whip and not one that is rough and stuck wrapped up and smells like factory.

I think you will enjoy your whip more if shortened. Just my opinion.
