I've finally received my Argo after a postal snfu. I've had an extremely bad cold, so's I haven't been able to indulge in my favorite pastime until yesterday. Since I don't want to wake the Cough Monster, I've been real careful. Here is how I minimized the volume in a stem. I just had my very 1st load on the new Argo, and Madonna's voice popped up in my head singing, "It feels like the first time..". Yeah, I'm a happy camper. And yes. I did need this vape.

Gentle Friends,

A possible 'off the shelf' cap for ArGo occurred to me, they are also made in square and rectangular form and used to cap tubes. So I measured mine, it's a 'close enough for jazz' fit to 1 X 2 inch standard size.
E-Bay sells 'em (go figure) as no doubt outfits like McMaster Carr. I'll let you know how it works when mine get here.......

lol, thanks for your report! VAS is killing me on this one.. How would you compare vapor quality to the Solo II?

I reduce my load size on both the Solo II and the few Argo stems I have had. I can't say either one is "better" at producing vapor. They both heat quickly, and as long as you are not inhaling so hard as to cool the oven, I'd say they are pretty much the same: just different form factors. To me, I will use either one in public: Argo is more discrete, but who the hell is watching you that closely? You could be drinking out of one of those performance drinks that are similarly shaped as the Solo II.

What screens are you using to limit the load?

First off, glad you've recovered enough to get back in the saddle.

I'd be interested in knowing if you find the subtle difference I think I do between the Solo/Air and ArGo stems at the start of the session. I'm thinking Solo 'starts harder' that is is a bit more intense flavor wise early on? Could well be all imagination.

I did an A/B test (one in each hand, 'identical' loads) and still think it's so??? Anyway I'd appreciate your opinion. For now I agree, not much difference at all. Hard to see how ArGo would disappoint a guy who understood what it's about.

TIA

What's the ID of the aroma tube for the ArGo? Would a 10mm rubber stopper fit? Or something smaller...

I posted that a ways back it's .370 inches. Look for the post if you can't go from there, I looked up the standard size stopper needed.

And again, a cork sticks up a fair bit or runs the risk of getting pushed in (needing a wire to extract it).

Strangely enough, I have a plastic set of Vernier calipers with me as I Snowbird, but I need to learn how to read it correctly: I've been operating under the illusion I knew how, but the Google has shamed me into confessing my ignorance.

Strangely enough, I have a plastic set of Vernier calipers with me as I Snowbird, and yes, the opening is 10 mm.

I just measured again, still .370 (max, there's a bit of roundout). 10mm is probably the nearest metric size (3/8" for us Yanks). 10mm is .393 inches. Perhaps our stems are a bit different (although both of mine read the same). It's about half a mm difference.

Again, an issue is the taper, it means it sticks up. I got some fair results with gluing a pull cord on, but the caps worked much better IMO.

I use @Ratchett 's universal vaporizer adaptor (see here) for mating my glass. It works great!

And you would not be alone in that recommendation:

@JCharles also should get credit:

And so should @Summer, who also suggested an additional idea:

Brother Summer even provided a specific link........

Seems there's a lot of us with no sense at all around here?

Hey, I just noticed the fun artifact on the screen in your photo. The effect of 'scanning', pretty cool. Bet you can't do that twice in a row........ This is why the display leaves 'trials of dots' as you wave it around in the dark.

You guys think these might work for capping?:

Edit: I mean plugging... :peace:

Interesting idea, might work? That's a very thin o-ring so there's not much compliance (fit might be hard got get right). You might have to try other rings? Perhaps even dropping down to 8mm so you get more 'wiggle room'? They would still stick up some, of course, but wouldn't be as prone to snagging on stuff I'd think.

"Single Flare Acrylic Ear Plugs"? Never would have occurred to me.....guess I really am leading a sheltered life......most cool.

Please let us know how it works out. PM me if you hit a rock with fit, I can probably mail you some rings to try?

Sorry, I’m just a nosey observer at this point, as I have not purchased an Argo... (never even watched the movie.. ;))

I was thinking a silicone hose plug, or something like one of these might work:

and started poking around and those ear plug thingies popped up and look like they might be better....

I see a lot of searching for caps going on. Am I the only one that doesn't have a smell problem with the ArGo when loaded and in my pocket? I'd like to know if I'm starting to lose my sense of smell...would hate to be the only one in the room that didn't smell my own vape!
