Need a bong vape. Milk-able, Bong-rip-like, smoking from bed

@Abysmal Vapor @sickmanfraud Checking out the TUBO now.

@Likes2vape Good note on the VapCap restriction, I'll try reading up more on this and trying to figure out something on the draw from the videos.

@Squiby Will check the thread out. I've been reading the last 15-20 pages in that big (900 pages?) VapCap thread but cant claim that the last pages had a huge amount of info in them. Was more people talking about their experience, which also is a great thing.

@Doktor Dub yeah the GH has been "semi recommended", for the exact reason you mention. It isn't an option as I'm very bad at returning shit and I'm in a nordic country. I can imagine that being a problem. I also kind of feel that there is no perfect solution, but what I'm looking for is the best good enough solution. I would how ever be a bit sad if the VapCap (+woodscents or induction) wouldn't come close considering peoples opinions about it. If I get the VapCap I will def give a review of how it works, and more especially, how it works in bed :p This was my though too : "vapcap / woodscent: woodscent dry in bed, through water at a table, dry and with torch on the go?" I had a plan to run it wet in bed too though, but that is not a requirement.

@invertedisdead I thought it could be more dangerous cause of the cord being a good way to trip both the piece, the flowerpot and the enail heater over in a bad situation. Thanks for the input though, kind of messing with my mind as I would obviously love the FP :) In regards to tolerance I'm not really sure what to say. I smoke a lot less than before, only smoke night time and on a normal day i do around 2x 0.3g or 3x 0.2g where the first number is the amount of bowls. So essentially my consumption is around 0.6-0.8g over 2 hours. The quality of the herb is probably one of the better ones in this country that you don't have to grow yourself.

@JJ420 Thing is that I wont be smoking anywhere else. Smoking is a way for me to unwind the day and enjoy it a little bit extra. It is only done night time and only in bed. So, I really wouldn't be driving that car, no matter how nice it is, if it doesn't have my cup holders. Like it was said before, I had the Volcano a few years back and I guess that is still a Ferrari (accordin to VC/Bud :p)? I think i dropped 450-550$ at that point and I used it 3-4 times. It just didn't have the right cup holders :)

Think that is all, hope I didn't miss someone.

@Likes2vape Good note on the VapCap restriction, I'll try reading up more on this and trying to figure out something on the draw from the videos.

The draw restriction on the VapCap was one of the reasons I initially suggested the Lotus, I believe it is more free flowing than the VapCap.

Like @paytonpenn I'm hearing good things about the Fury 2. It's a nice small electric on demand that can be used via a water pipe adapter on a water tool.

I'm trying to keep my recommendations to small devices that won't feel cumbersome to use atop a water tool whilst sitting on a bed.

I see no reason why you can't get what you want, it may not be the best bong like experience (that does seem to be the flower pot, glass symphony or herborizer ti) but there is no reason why you can't have a setup like a water tool with vape that you can just grab off the side table, sit up in bed and have a satisfying hit (not the best but satisfying). Then just place the tool back on the side table and space out, or watch TV, or space out watching the TV.

I thought it could be more dangerous cause of the cord being a good way to trip both the piece, the flowerpot and the enail heater over in a bad situation. I figure if you are using it in bed there's no way to really trip over anything.

Keep in mind the vapcap holds like .05g, so a .3g bowl in the FP is more like 6 bowls in the Vapcap. The Vapcap is honestly a great vape and milks a bong with the best of them, but the bowl size means it just can't extract like some of these desktops. Then again, if you are used to smoking, you might find yourself using less material when you find the right vaporizer.

I will note the Flowerpot has the least draw restriction of any vaporizer I've ever owned or used, and the Vapcap has the most. It's personal preference there though, a lot of folks really like a tight draw.

You might consider just trying a Vapcap M for $50 and go from there. If you like it you still have the budget to upgrade to an Omnivap, if not, you aren't out much money and have most of your budget left for something different.

BTW I used a Volcano Classic for years as a daily driver and the FP blows it away IMO. Great vape in its time where most , but the extraction capabilities and versatility is just superior in these newer desktop vaporizers.

The E-Nano has about the same size bowl as the Vapcap but is all electric + convection, might be a solid option if you are considering a vapcap + induction heater.

If I was in your shoes I think I might go for the Tubo; been on my radar for a while and everyne who owns one seems pretty thrilled; plus cordless and seems to work very well through water. it;s been dubbed a "cordless Evo" by more than a few members on here.

I would say E-Nano with a 14mm adjustable screen adapter. It is small, sturdy, insulated, so it can be most safely used in a bed with a small bong. I think it's the best match.
If you push the screen down a bit and load 0.06g of good bud, it will milk the bong for one or two hits.
The EVO is big, glass, 18mm, so it would not fit in your bong and you would need another glass adapter, which would make the setup ridiculoustly badly balaced. It would not stand without tipping off even at a table. Get it if you still think the E-Nano's bowl is too tiny for you and you want to vape more than 0.1g in one bowl - which would milk your bong many times in a row. The EVO will give a better quality vapor and you can load up to 0.5g into one bowl. It can of course give much bigger hits than Nano if you load a lot in it, set the temp high and take a huge long hit. It is all-glass, which is good for taste and bad because of fragility. And of course it's bigger and 18mm.
The flowerpot has hot uninsulated metal on the outside, I think that would be hazardous in a bed.
If you have a table nearby to put in on, then the EVO, flowerpot and others could be more considerable.

The grasshopper is actually the exact vape you're looking for. If I weren't so stoned (I put part of a kief puck in and wow) I'd make you a usage video. That said, like other people have mentioned, it's pretty risky until they get their shit figured out. One idea would be to get a used vapcap for cheap off r/entexchange and see where the company's at in a month or two. The hopper is exactly what you're looking for

Grasshopper vaporizer if you can deal with the wait time to get one. There's nothing else that even comes close for waterpipe usage IMO. Click it on, wait 5 seconds, rip it as hard and for as long as you want to.

Yes. The main thread is huge but we have condensed a good amount of the instructional information into the Best Of thread.
So essentially my consumption is around 0.6-0.8g over 2 hours.
If you go with a Vapcap you will find that you will get what you need off of much less bud. The Vapcap is a very efficient vape and you'll consume less and save money for the same effect. After you fall in love with it though, you'll likely spend that saved money on more Vapcaps and accessories.
It's personal preference there though, a lot of folks really like a tight draw.
The ability to create draw restriction is one of the reasons I love the Vapcap so much. Draw restriction allows a nice mouth-pull technique which is much more gentle on the lungs than an unrestricted direct draw into the lungs.

I am asthmatic and harsh smoke from the combustion years long ago ago and harsh vapor from other vapes before the Vapcap was enough for me to think twice about partaking. The after effects on the lungs were sometimes a no go for me. Having a Vapcap, learning to mouth-pull and adding a degummed hemp fiber filter has been a total game changer for me. Now I have no issues. No coughing. No harshness. Just pure blissfully smooth vapor.

Here's a link to making a degummed hemp fiber filter.

If you always use a bong a OmniVap is an overkill regarding costs and function. Makes sense if you intend to use it natively. With a bong I would go with a "M" or a "Nonavong" AND an induction heater from @Pipes - Safe, very effective, safe and nearly on demand (5sec heatup). Loads are small (1-2 hits with a bong) but efx are - whyever - outstanding and it's reloaded within seconds.

This setuo with induction heater is also standing on my bedside table along with a Herborizer Ti. It's a real alternative to the FP, which I too own myself. Nearly the same performance but smaller, more handy with less fire hazardous parts. And it puts me better to sleep ( it's name is "Sandman" for these reasons) than my NV Showerhead, which I like more as my daily desktop vape.
But have in mind that the Herb Ti and the FP need a heat up time of 10-12 minutes for best performance. If you want to vape on demand you have to stay it heated all the night. Not very secure.

Yep, the Grasshopper is very well suited for this purpose too. Very small, battery powered, 5 sec waiting time and enormous clouds - and safe. But up to now not the most reliable one. Better wait two months and look what GHL is changing regarding the construction they are currently working on.

An alternative could be the RBT Splinter. Small, on demand, awesome performance but waiting list is full up for the next months.

If I would have to decide NOW I would go with the VC (M or Nonavong)+ Induction heater - at least for begin with.
- safe
- on demand
- very effective
- lowest costs
- one of the best vapes with hash

If you're looking for a vape "bong rip like", i think the most direct, simple and economical is in the "butane zone", depending on what you are looking for, here are my choices :

Convection : DLX M by DreamWood
Conduction : VapCap by Dynavap

No need to recover the ABV with these two tools.

Ok guys, feel I've decided on what to do but the more I read the more I get that I will have to try around to find what fits me. This is also not a bad idea since I am very new to vaping, trying different models doesn't seem bad.

First of all, I feel a little stupid. I should have just gotten a VapCap after the first few posts. Like someone here said (can't find name now), why not just buy the cheapest model and try. So I'm going for a VapCap M, like right now.

If I like the M and think it is a good fit I will go for the Omni XL and I will try to figure out if I should go with an induction heater or WoodScents as a heat source. I know there isn't supposed to be a huge difference in function, but I want one anyways ;)

If the VapCap doesn't fit, I will try the Lotus.

Even if the VapCap/Omni are great and I love them, chances are that I will want to try a GH or maybe a Fury 2 or a similar machine with the same form factor. I need to read up on both but they do impress me similarly. Seems to be some very nice cordless vapes.

After that, we will see if I venture into the land of vaping for real. In my mind, that is an Evo, a FP, a Herborizer Ti and similar machines. Even if they might not fit my use case (Evo might), might be nice having around for friends and some special day smoking.

This plan might obviously change if I find something more interesting along the way. I have to start somewhere though and i think that VapCap and/or Lotus + GH/Fury2/(or similar form factor) wont be moved from the road map.

Hope I haven't been too annoying with all my questions and back and forth. I've tried to read up on what everyone said and I don't think I've missed to much. I appreciate everyones input and even though I've never done a review, a video, a facebook post, a twitter post or what ever you want, I will do my best to make one that would answer all the questions I've had and that has been brought up in this thread.

Was a double post, will use it to add edits on stuff I've missed so I don't keep bumping this.

...
In your video I would rate them 1) FP, 2) GH, 3) Lithe and 4) Fury1

The GH and Lithe came so close to each other in the cloud they made. I will how ever make more research on the Fury2/GH/MV1 style devices. They are slightly different but all battery and a convenient form factor for my use case.

Honestly. ... log w volt control. Log is the lighter, set to desired heat level, max extract in one to two hits, or sip and slowly increase temp/power for a sesh... if that's what you call a sesh... My prefrence a hair from combustion. Just put in over the load rotate it around... and stupid clouds... one hit usually fully extrackted and a lil chard almost.

Next is milliana, but that's going to take some patience.... button and draw speed ... yeah all manual no n training wheels.

Would honestly say depends of your cool with cords, 2 min heat up time but can left on 24/7 ready to go... bamboos are very affordable.

If you're more intrsted in bat power 5 sec ish to 7 sev heat up time, but with a kinda steep learning curve, go milliana

Splinter and i heat look very very promising, giving power control. ...

Hopper perfect too, bats wear out abit fast but are cheap and redily avaliable. .. but nothing short of the sublimatore has come close to my diald in logs....

@korupt.yg congratulations on the "M" The M in on my list, but not at the top, yet. As soon as you make the decision to keep it you should order the induction heater from @Pipes.

The Flowerpot seems like a GREAT vaporizer, just dangerous (IMO) for in bed use. If you were to fall asleep with the FP heater in your hand I am concerned about fire hazards. You Could ask @Bravest (Retired or Semi-retired), NYFD captain. He has a thread for his convection vapes at vapwood.com under upcoming portable vapes.

You said you are in a Nordic country. Can you be specific? There is a very nice vape manufacturer in Helsinki.

Thanks @sickmanfraud, it is going to be very exciting to try it:) Will be paired with a log or (most likely) an induction heater if I enjoy it as most people seem to. The comparison of heat source will be made when I know how I plan to use it. Yeah, as of now the FP is not in the race for this use case. So where is the iPhone style E-nail induction stand heater? (Remember when you saw it first :p) Back to the drawing board Pipes!

Just tried the "Evo" (read a half full 1.5L fanta bottle, weights ~ 750g, ~ 35cm tall, I can only grip ~70% of it, attached to a computer cord with a heavy 19v adapter hanging annoyingly) and all is perfectly usable in bed back and forth to the table. I'm really trying hard to find something wrong. Others (for example the ones below) would be slightly more comfortable but I think my fanta-evo is comfortable enough with a decent margin. I mean I rather it was the size of the Rebel2 or the GH but... well it can't really be. I also like glass sooo...:p

Like the stupid fucking idiot I am, chances are that I might be getting the Evo by the end of the weekend if I still cant find something that persuades me not to. I should wait for the VapCap M to come and try it, but considering how little you can load in it, i think it might be slightly insufficient as I do not feel like reloading it 6 times. The plenty is also interesting function wise but I really hate the look and it really wasn't made for use with glass as I understand it.

Only thing I guess that would persuade me is if I can find another "top tier" unit that fits my use case. The Ghost MV1 (Haven't found GonG vids) and Rebel2 (haven't seen anything from VC/Bud on this one) are the only contenders but from what I understand, they still have a bit hard time competing. VC/Bud said that Ghost MV1 was (one of?) the only small form factor electrical vapes that could come close (to the Evo he pointed to in his vid). From what I understand though both of them pack a lot less herb. I need to read up on the Tubo Evic, haven't done that enough yet. Mighty is also slightly in the race, but don't feel like "preferably cleaning it while its warm".

Exciting times for a "new to all but bag vapes" vaper:) Depressing times for my wallet ;)

Best regards
/k

PS:
It might or might not be obvious but from my "purchase" list I hope that it is clear that I really want to get into vaping and that I do not want to be disappointed and turned away like I was with the volcano (Not bashing the unit, just didn't like bag-vaping). I think the idea of it is great and also feel a little stupid that I haven't made more of an effort before. I would very much like to fuck combustion:) I am in other words trying to do what ever I can to get an experience I will enjoy. Everything I can is in this case reading, discussing with you and throwing money at the "problem".

The M is a great place to start.

You'll benefit from a few accessories. @Ratchett runs Delta 3D studios which provides 3D printed accessories for many different vapes:
I'd opt for @Pipes Induction Heater over the Omni anyday. I like the Omni because it's cool but I can't say it has a huge benefit over the more basic models. I love the Portside Induction Heater because it has a real world usage benefit to a daily VapCap routine. It's a better investment. When you want one all you'll need to do is send
@Pipes a Private Message (click his name and then click 'start a conversation'). Read his

M advice:
  • You'll need something to allow you to interface it with your bubbler as the M isn't a VonG (VapCap On Glass). @Ratchett's universal adapter will do the job nicely. A cheaper option would be DynaVaps Fat Mouthpiece which will not be as good but would be good enough as a starter.

  • You will likely want a more restricted airflow for denser clouds when using the M on a water tool. The easiest way to do this is to cut a small square off the gummed part of a rolling paper and then paste it over the carb hole. Then take a pin and put a small hole in it. If you want more airflow put another pin hole in. This will avoid you having to hunt for the carb hole with your finger everytime you go to take a hit.

  • Buy the HIGH-TEMP O-RING KIT and the CONDENSER O-RING KIT. The O-rings do eventually wear out and you'll want a spare set available to you should one break or get lost. You may want a spare screen as well.
Like the stupid fucking idiot I am, chances are that I might be getting the Evo by the end of the weekend

Welcome to VAS (Vapourizer Acquisition Syndrome).

Good luck man, look forward to reading your feedback on the setup.

Thank you all guys, I'll update you on my thinking tonight. Thanks @sickmanfraud, will check it out cause the evo is getting very close to being bought :p

Short reason to why the EVO is the top contender is its versatility. It seems that the EVO can do everything the other vapes can performance/vapor/hit wise, obviously not form factor and portability wise. So, in practice, the EVO seems to be able to mimic a lot of vapes, or the main feature from a lot of vapes. That way, by going with the EVO, I can discover what "type" of vaping I like, or rather, how I want to vape. When I know how I want to vape, what is important to me, I can get a more specialized device for that specific type.

Sorry for formulating myself so badly, doesn't feel like I'm expressing myself good enough. Anyways, gotta eat and fix some stuff, then I will elaborate. That is how ever the general thinking.

OK guys, now to explain why I picked the EVO (currently looking for a retailer), really sorry for the long post but I wanted to let you know why I made the pick. I've tried hiding some "optional" stuff so that You won't be hit with the full wall of text at once.

You all have been giving me so much help and input and I therefore think that it is reasonable for me to write how that help has led me. Even though not a lot of people recommended the EVO in this thread, all your recommendations actually led me there by showing how many good options there are and that I have no way of really picking "just the right" device for me without trying. In short, all of you were perfectly adequate at showing me my own ignorance in the best possible of ways ;)

EVO got picked for its top tier reputation and reviews and because of its versatility. In my mind and from my understanding; if a vape can do it, the EVO can do it. We are obviously disregard from form factor related issue like working without a cord and being hidden in your pocket.

It works for big "bowls", "semi micro"-dosing (0.1 min?), huge clouds, small clouds, full flavor, "full" extraction, with and without glass but construction for it in mind, works alone and in groups and both as a session and a quick vape (not on demand ofc). Well it goes on but I think you all get the point since you guys know a lot more than me.

Versatility and quality is important since this is my first vape after the Volcano, which I didn't like and barely used, and I want to make sure that I give vaping as good of a chance as I can because I want it as my primary way of consumption.

I truly have no clue to how I will be vaping, if I will even enjoy it, if my consumption patterns will change, how I will be dosing (with a vape), if I want or need hydration, etc, etc. Because of these reasons I figured it would be good to pick the best jack of all trades vape (that applies to my use case) with the best quality I can find. My reasoning is, if I don't like vaporizing through the EVO, I don't like vaporizing at all. If I like it through the EVO, I can continue with the VAS and acquire something that is more tailored to what I like.

I do not want to end up in the situation I was with the Volcano, having a great vape that I can't use because its vape-style doesn't fit me. For example, getting a great micro-dosing vape that is super good and expensive and then finding out that I do not like micro-dosing at all (just an example).

Feel free to tell me if I am stupid or not, you do how ever only have a few mins to change my mind ;) I will def be getting back to this thread for my next purchase when I know a little bit more about my own vaping habits.

@sickmanfraud That seems to be a US unit, I think I rather buy an EU one instead of getting converters. Also not a huge price difference and on this kind of piece I would want insurance.

Thanks again, Peace!

Go for it. For sure one of the best and first of all one of the safest desktop vapes for your bedside table.
But perhaps a top-tier portable could make the job better for your needs over all?

Don't think you are being stupid at all bud. Seems like you have very sound reasoning to me. I hope the EVO punches those buttons and hits that spot, it certainly should do! It's a beast of a vape.

It's gonna be interesting reading up about your switch from combustion to vaping.

For best results try and go a week without any usage (smoking) before you hit the EVO. This will help with the transition.

On a separate note, don't let that Volcano gather dust, lend it to a friend or sell it on. If you are feeling generous you could donate it to a medical group.

Good luck

Thanks for the feedback guys, nice to hear that the reasoning isn't too crazy:)

@GreenHopper Yeah, I def would have given it away or maybe even have sold it, but as of now it is on a trash heap somewhere due to my countries police. Mind you that the Volcano by itself wasn't illegal, but then again, neither was my ~3k worth of glass and I forcefully had part with both :(

I will do my best do document my vaping switch but like I said somewhere before, I've never really written anything like that as it is not really my thing. I do how ever intend to answer at least all the questions I myself have asked (as to help other people that might be in a similar situation) and also try to write up a bit about my transition into vaping.

So far this is a great fucking community, I'm excited to be a part of it and will hopefully have time to do a lot more than lurking.

Best regards
