PAX Era by PAX Labs

I'm thinking I might rotate the pods 90 degrees so the finished case is slimmer so it fits in your pocket better
I like this idea.
I'm thinking about a single pod case, and a 3x1 configuration, or should I do a 2x1 as well?
I think I'd like to see a 2x1 version as I doubt I'd ever need more than 2 with me at any given time, but then again if I had 3 pods I'd probably want the triple.

Have you considered a version that would hold the battery as well?

As someone with 12 pods at various stages of completion(gotta catch em all!) taking up quite a bit of real estate in their original cases, I would definitely pick up a few of these. Minimally.

And the batteries are only $20 here in Oregon. I know that they run as high as $60 in other states. But I currently only have one.

I like the idea of a battery case about the size of a pack of gum. It could have Pod slots all the way from top to bottom in theory. At least enough room for 4-5.

I believe I read in the thread that someone has successfully refilled an Era pod. I wondered if anyone has tried and successfully cleaned a pod?
I bought a Rubi for the refillable pods, liking it so far, but wondered if an ISO soak after a number of refills would be damage it.
I realize I should start a Rubi thread but have a feeling there aren't many people jumping on the bandwagon.
TIA

Well I understand the Rubi POD to have cotton inside wrapped around the ceramic, and the container is plastic of some short. So IMHO I would be reluctant to soak it in ISO.

We discussed this earlier in this thread and my understanding is that the contents of the ERA pods are thinned with PG or the like.

Can anyone confirm that this is true?

I have a strong aversion to vaping PG/PEG/VG or the like.

Cheers

Cannot confirm the presence of cutting/thinning agents in the Era pods. In order to avoid OT posts here, I will start a thread for the other refillable cart/pen combo...

Very good point. Its easy to forget about TC in the era because it works so well, at least for the low temps I use. Its only using a non-tc concentrate device and singe yourself when you realize how nice of a feature it really is.
Think I may start a Rubi thread to keep from derailing this one.
Could someone share the advantages of the temp control of the Era? I have TC on many vapes(IQ, Pico, Cloud, etc...) but rarely use it. The one disadvantage to the Rubi pods(like the few oil carts I've tried so far) is the taste degrading as the oil cooks, so the .5-1 ml you've loaded gets tainted, and gets progressively worse till the end of the load(makes me reach for my LAYG Pico). Granted you can refill the Rubi pods, but as I posted earlier, is there a way to clean the remaining, burnt oil from the spent pod?
Does the Era's TC allow some control over how quickly you're cooking the entire chamber?
Does the flavor degrade less dramatically in the Era pods than standard carts?
Is it too much to dream for a refillable, washable, glass and ceramic pod for either device?

I haven't finished a full pod or even .3 from my first rubi pod yet but my pod still tastes great, you can try to use hot water in the pod but I would suggest letting it sit for atleast a few days to try to dry out completely.. what ate you loading in the rubi pod

I'm using only htfse (high terpenes full spectrum extract) in the pod at the moment if you're able to get co2 extract or distillate in syringes you could try that with no additives
Thanks Clukx!
Not sure if the additives are the issue(although I'm currently looking into distillate), more the entire load cooking a slight bit with each draw, causing it's taste too degrade. The last bit left in the pod is what I'd like to rinse out. I may try your hot(think I can get away with boiling) water and then a couple of days to dry suggestion.

Careful with your ratios on the WL - I've been trying to use a 3:1 ratio but the juice seems too thin - leaks out of other carts and tanks I've tried. Next time I try making a juice, I'm going to try some Holy Terps, I hear a lot of good stuff about them.

Note, I even tried a Pax Era knockoff called the Fuchai v3 - they sell empty single-use pods which you fill and then cap. Problem is they seem to leak with my WL juice! I've lost quite a bit of mixed juice thanks to leaking tanks over the past few weeks :\

By the way, I have just published my second Pax Era accessory - the Slim 2x1 Pod Case

I'll be working on publishing the larger 6x1 configuration Pod Case in the next few days.

Those look great @Ratchett and thanks for sharing your ratio findings.
One thing I'll say about the Rubi pods, there's very little leaking. Occasionally I have to wipe off a pod, but it's rare and only a small amount. I don't know if that would be the case if this were used as a daily driver.

I have one of these. It’s not bad. Good flavor but vapor production is much weaker than a CCell based 510 pen. The Era’s only advantage is stealth. I put tape over the light and now it’s a USB key in my laptop bag.

Ugh, I think I got my first bad Pax Era pod :(

Tasted terrible, left me feeling ill.
Time to explore refilling I guess...

Exchange it, any decent dispensary should allow you to do that. I've gotten duds of other carts before that I noticed by terrible taste all of a sudden too, and exchanged them without issue.

Also why are there so many damn posts about the fucking Rubi in here? #irrelevant

I'm going to try. I bought it more than a month ago though, hopefully that's ok.
Also. not sure on the Rubi - wondered the same thing!! Does it not have its own thread?
