On black friday, anyone that was watching their youtube cast got an extra 50% off everything in the store that was already 25% off. I got so much stuff for under 100 bucks that it's insane. I should never need another vape again.

I picked up a ton of shit too, paid for with points I won in their contests. Was sweet!

I bought a CFX from PIU but they are out of stock on the ELBs. Luckily VaporWarehouse (also an FC sponsor) has them. I did get Flowermate dry herb pods from PIU.

So now I need to see which pod or basket works best. I used the CFX only once without any pod. Too messy to keep clean easy. Of course I took out the stock screen assembly and put a stainless 1/2 inch screen in.

OK so I've tried both the both the dry herb pods and the easy load baskets. They each work better than using the CFX by itself. The dry herb pods hold about .07-.08 gram when full. They extract all the goodies and leave medium brown ABV with temperatures up to 210c. The easy load baskets hold about .25 grams and leave dark brown ABV with temperatures up to 205c.

The stock screen assembly should be replaced with a flat screen. The Arizer stem screens work for this. The dry herb pods drop right in and rattle around in the CFX chamber. The easy load baskets (ELBs) are a bit big for the CFX; but they will fit. I used some pliers to squeeze in the baskets near the bottom. Then I pressed down hard on the mouthpiece as I turned it to lock in the basket. Repeated use should improve the fit. Somebody mentioned taking out the bottom CFX screen and I made some effort, but I gave up when it seemed very difficult and I feared damaging something.

I normally use about .07 gram per session so I will try that amount in the ELBs to see how that works.

Right now I have some flower (from Colorado) that is not much better than trim and a basket of .25 gram is not too much for a session.

My mother was correct when she used to say "things will work out for the best".

Edit: Fun fact is the CFX does fit in my cargo pants pockets.

I did some testing with mine last night. At first I was very unimpressed. Once I took the stock screen out then it was on. This thing can pump out some nice clouds. My only concern is how hot the mouth piece gets. It's plastic so idk if there is some of gassing going on or what. When I took out the stock screen that seemed to make things not as hot, but still got hot. Video to come

I replaced my mouthpiece with the aftermarket glass one made for the Crafty. It still gets warm to hot when chaining hits... but after-all if you think about it, it was the same with joints if you tried to smoke them too fast.

Try spacing your hits a bit more when it happens, or let it cool down 20 seconds or the like.

I LOVE the cfx with the WPA. Great hits!
Never tried the Crafty glass mouthpiece, I use the Boundless cfv glass mouthpiece. It fits perfectly when you unscrew the bottom screen. ✌️

Yes it delivers, although you have to overcome the restriction to get it (but it's not that bad nor hard on the lungs)

One advice to all users and it was given previously: the device is able to detect what kind of charger it's plugged on. If you use an old school USB2 port it will draw around 0.9A. But I just got a 2.4A fast charger brick and when plugged into it, it was happily drawing close to 1.7A.

By using fast charging you can refill most of the battery in less than 15 minutes. So as long as you have access to a power outlet and you can afford getting a bowl every 15 minutes, you can be covered.

Still, the battery life is the #1 weak point of this device, because if you charge it 5 times per day, it's not going to last a full year! I wouldn't see myself using only this device, unless I was a very lightweight user. But I enjoy using it from time to time because it's super easy to get good vapor. Every-time I handle it to a newbie it's a success, contrary to other vapes that require more technique.

Lovin the CFX, this thing is beast. Just had to make a few accessories for it. Loading was a bit of a pain but a funnel fixed that.

The glass mouth piece is a nice upgrade.

@KeroZen please provide a link for sourcing the glass mouthpiece.

Edit: Found on PIU but thanks anyway.

My CF is my backup portable since I got the Solo II but gave it a run last night just for shits and giggles. Man it can blow a mean cloud. My bowl is pretty grubby so it can't compete in the flavour stakes with the Solo but still very acceptable.

The best budget vape I've owned.

Have had a few days with my new CFX, and I haven’t touched any of my other vapes since. Huge rips and the vapor isn’t too hot/harsh unless you crank it up too high.
Have been using my air for my daily driver for over 2 years now but that may have just changed.

Will definitely be keeping an eye out for the new boundless convection Vape coming out.

i was so disappointed with the cfx, the only reason i bought it was the black friday deal and the ELB mod. its the draw resistance that disappoints more than anything. it gets used but very rarely, maybe the crafty thats on its way will be used more.

Members have successfully replaced the metal filter with an EB Basket screen. Reduces the restriction by 1/2!

This was the first mod that I made when I received the CFX. Vitolo is correct, it does improve draw resistance.

I'm thinking about getting a CF. How would you rate it in terms of efficiency? I saw one review that said, despite the large chamber, it can vape small amounts efficiently.

I don't normally use small amounts, but the few times I did, it worked pretty well tbh.

Buttt, I think it depends more on your needs (how often you smoke, how much you need to get high, are you with friends, do you like bongs? etc). Because, if I just had to have a solo and efficient vape, I'd maybe go with something VapCap M (don't get me wrong, I love my CFX through a bong!), but like I said, it depends on what you're after really.

There's so much choice nowdays that you should be able to find your perfect vape.

(Note: I only own the CFX, but the M has worked it way onto my list due to the efficiency, and the claim that its a pretty heavy hitter (I need to convert some of my joint smoking friends, and the VapCap seems like a good way).

OK, I killed the annoying vibrator on my CFX. At one corner of the circuit board there are two thin wires (blue and red) that go from the board to the vibrator on the inside of the plastic housing. Just clip either of those wires and the CFX won't vibrate any more. Leave the other four wires alone (the wires that go to the heater and temperature sensor).

DISASSEMBLY NOTE: Rear screws are Torx T6. Bottom screws are Philips #1.
Hi, sorry for quoting so old, but this is the only post I found talking about the vibration, which for me is quite an annoyance. It seems to bother people a lot less than what I'd have thought hehe. I mean, the cfx heats up so fast, that I don't see a reason to have such a strong, long buzz everytime it gets to the goal temperature. And even worse, taking battery life away every single time.

So having had my first and only vape for 2 months now, I was looking for something like a firmware upgrade to see if boundless added an option to remove or dim the vibration and then I found flatulentz's post.

Well it'd be great to hear from mr flatulentz or from anyone who has disabled vibration in their CFXs. Are your units still working good after that little hack? I mean is it really that easy to deactivate it? you just cut one of the two thin wires (the red or the blue) and reassemble? no need to solder to bypass the vibrator, no nothing? :)

I find it annoying too for the same reasons, and that is doesn't buzz when the session is over (I always forget about it..)

The CFX's firmware isn't upgradable, nor am I aware of them changing it (like they added / changed some things on the CF). Mine is about three months old and I find the vibrate quite long, so I assume it hasn't changed (specially as there's a CFX2.0 in the works).

Yes, it is that easy [but, I haven't done it.]. As long as you're careful!

Remove 3 hex screws to remove the shell, then just snip the red and blue. The thin ones on the right hand side (I'll mark them in paint if you like). Maybe tape them up with electrical tape (never know, could touch something it should and kill your vape. Worth the time to do in my eyes).

Puffitup have down a tear-down, (they cut all wires, don't do that :p ) but they call it backup battery, but I'm pretty sure it's not :p .

Also note that you three year warranty will be voided if you choose to do so. Feel like I should make that known :p .

Hope that helps!

Thanks, that was fast :)
I haven't disassembled it yet, but was looking at that same PIA's tear down for a reference. Yes, they claim those wires to lead to sort of a bios battery, but they are corrected in the comments.
By looking at the tear down, the 3rd pic from the top shows the vape open wide and the 2 wires are exposed, so I hope I won't have too much trouble anyway. And like flatulenz apparently did succesfully, I was planning to cut one of them and try, in case I want to resolder in the future or sell the unit. I've been torn between coping with the annoying vibe or not having the safety net of a warranty that you'll never need unless you've previously voided it XD.
I've modded it with ELBs and honey magnet from day one, and really the only grief I'm having so far is the BZZZZZZZ, so I think I'ma kill the scritch and finally, fully enjoy the vape. Let's just hope I don't ever need the warranty lol.
