oh yea i forgot i do that too. so obviously it adds more heat.

If packing close to the tip with an open basket screen, you could scorch above 400F if you want to, and I always draw fast (don't get such good results with slower draws here really, compared to others) but I've also never out and out combusted in mine. Cruising at upper temps with an ELB, I have gotten black avb though. I often finish my basket bowls at the tip with a fast draw at 420 and get a black center spot, not really combustion, but yeah lower temp to avoid

I’ve tried loading baskets, but found that I prefer keeping the herb further from the heater. I never go over 390F with the Tubo or Dual, so getting even close to combustion has no appeal to me.

Loading the stem also allows larger loads, which I find convenient.

I never had much success with low temps packing further away from the heater, especially if there is a cap screen. I do tend to milk 380F for the most part though flavor chasing, if I do 420F for more than one hit then they are very short hits and still produce pure vapor regardless, never any smoke.

And I actually find smaller loads more convenient personally, better performance for me than when I try large Tubo loads too. Just another example of how many different ways there are to use Tubo effectively!

Yep, it’s just a matter of personal preference.

The only problem I’m having with either the Tubo or the Dual is using them too much. Yesterday, getting the new Dual dialed in was a killer. Didn’t get a damn thing done the rest of the day.

Have any new Tubo Dual users noticed whether the batteries coming out of the dual have had the same charge remaining?

My batteries do not have the same charge remaining when I put them on my Luc v4 charger.

According to @OF, who I consider a friend and certainly more knowledgeable than most regarding cell health, longevity and best uses of 18650's. @OF said this probably means that a dedicated pair of batteries is not necessary.

Can any dual owner comment on the strength of cells coming out of the dual?

How far off are their voltages when you put them in for a recharge? When they are fully recharged do they terminate at the same voltage?

Hey guys,

haven't been around here for a while. Hope everyone is enjoying their tubo.

Just pulled my tubo out first time in months. It would not switch on.
Reblaced the battery with a fully charged one and put the old one on the charger:

1.22V :o:o:\

So it looks like you should definitely remove the batt(s? For the dual) from the unit, if you don't plan to use it for some time (months in my case).
I'm pretty sure I turned it off completely last time (5x click) - but even in stand-by it should not drain the battery that low..??

Trying to revive it now -'just for shits and science. Will likely toss it afterwards.

Always play safe!

I still can't vape- I don't know how long this will be. But I've been playing around with Dual and still don't get how to switch from dual to solo mode. If I'm the only person who doesn't understand how to switch the parts that's fine. I can just leave the dual as a dedicated 2 battery vape and use my other tubo as a single one. But if it's confusing to anyone else could someone post a video of how to make the switch.

@little maggie

You just align the tabs into the gap for it about halfway down and slide the battery (down in our case) to connect...

@funkyjunky my new Tubo Dual is waaaaay cooler than my Tubo evic. Yesterday I did an experitment and my Tubo Evic blew huge clouds at 215 C where the Dual was set at 260 C and was wispier than the Evic.

Please advise.

Please remember I am not the tech genius many here are and these are my only vapes to use a box mod. (now I understand how my late father must have felt in 1985 when he saw my first PC)

Thanks in advance

You might need to change the coil resistance. First make sure the coil resistance matches the default which is written inside the battery door (remove the battery compartment to see). If your tubo is still too cold, wait until the heater cools down to room temp, and try raising the coil resistance in the menu (follow the manual) by 0.001, do this until you get the same results as with your OG tubo.
Hope this helps.

When heater is cold go to MENU>COILS>MANAGE and increase TCR value by 0.002-0.003 at a time till you get satisfying results. If 216 on the evic is hotter 260 ot the dual then i would suggest increasing it at least 0.005-0.006 the first time to spare yourself waiting for the heater to cool between adjustments but don do higher steps then i suggested above :).( For example if it is 0.200 make it 0.205 and than if not satisfied you can try 207,209,211 etc.. :) )

You guys are always so helpful :) One thing to add - absolutely make sure the coil really is cooled down fully between adjustments, or you could get false temps and resistance changes etc.

I also got my Dual before the year was out :D

Just to tick the 'In the wild' and 'Family' boxes.. OG / X / Dual

The pet project 3d print - I'm learning on the job, so it's been a bit slow. I'm just ordering a couple of different materials to test out. It'll either end up as hemp or wood filament, or painted PLA if neither of those hold up..

I gave up on the modular aspect.. too much trouble bearing in mind I don't really need it. The shape has changed too :

You may notice the electrical tape.. FJ kindly shortened the cable at my request, but the braided sleeve came away from the fitting after a bit of use. The RMA went smooth as, and I feel a bit bad, bearing in mind how helpful he'd been already.

Anyhow, hopefully I'll be able to post a more appealing photo of Tubonator X in a few weeks.. . Any feedback is appreciated, and I'm happy to share the CAD / print files if anyone wants.

Thanks for all your work @funkyjunky !

It finally arrived!! Today is a great day. I'm so excited but also overwhelmed .

I know it came with a manual but are there any direction videos online for how to set up/use this things? I can't even figure out how to turn the thing on.. I'm charging it up as we speak. At 100% charged, how long does this thing last?

There was some broken glass unfortunately from one of the stems. Hopefully Funky will reimburse me.

Edit: the long mouthpiece feels pretty loose when I put it in the evic. Is this normal? It almost falls right out. doesn't seem to be the right size.. Also the screen bowl doesn't seem to fit in the mouthpiece. Help is much appreciated!
