Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

I'm coming from an extreme q to this..

With my q I used three elbow packs in a evening and I was sorted with the evo I'm using six half filled baskets... The q was set at 200 the evo at 1o'clock.

Enjoying it but I'm getting through loads of bud with it don't know if it's cus I'm running it in and enjoying it more then the q. Thought I'd post as I was told the q uses quite a bit of bud and the evo doesn't need as much to get the same effect but it's quite the opposite for me.

I use the evo on full power and the first 3/4 filled bowl is pretty strong - overpowering at points.

it always wears off though, later ones aren't as terrifying. I think it's just the nature of tolerance and dosing - the change from sober to high is a far bigger change than fairly high to very high,

I've tried 3/4 filled but then read it's better to half fill.

I'll 3/4 fill tonight and turn it up I love the first blast of the day to knock my socks off.

I'm not knocking the evo I think it's very good just trying to find a balance with it I did a basket at 1.30 with some sticky bud and got full extraction in one hit the other day. Enjoyed that but want flavour too.

Cheers

I fill the ELB loosely about halfway with a medium grind and the first session setting is at noon. Great taste and about 4 to 5 hits for a good buzz. Same ELB is finished off at the 2:30 temp setting, 4 to 5 hits again and another good buzz.

The above is my standard. Of course the quality of the flower and how efficient you are with each hit is key. I use the standard re-breathing technique and don't chase clouds. I also use the EVO dry. Water tends to make me use more flower and dilutes the taste.

Edit: I do occasionally use a bubbler and chase clouds when my aim is to glaze over and lock up the couch...I just don't aim that "high" normally.

Well it knocked me for six last night I think I only had three 3/4 filled baskets at 1o'clock.

Not sure tho my memory is a little hazy this morning I've git a stonedover!...

Modnote: Back to back posts merged

It was four baskets I was at a really nice level tho.

And really shouldn't have mixed vodka and wine oh and then vodka cider mixes.. Apparently I put in a good performance tho unfortunately I can't remember any of it.

The reason a half-fill not packed is recommended, is because that way there will be turbulence in the ELB resulting in the best extraction efficiency. A larger and/or tamped load can produce the same result, it just may require an extra stir or two. And, the half-fill is more likely to provide good taste, whereas with a larger fill the flavor of later hits can be masked somewhat by the spent abv in the ELB.

IME the difference between the Q and the Cloud has always been in the quality of the experience. The Q always delivered good vapor (once I had dialed in my particular technique), but it was never as smooth as the Cloud. And then there was the whip, and the stirring, and the need for extra effort for better results (e.g., elbow-packing).

But with all that said, from the posts in the several large Cloud threads here, IMHO there are so many subtle variables (fill, temp, grind, technique, accessory, preference, material, etc.) that it's best for each user to just wildly experiment with the EVO to find the best combination(s) for him/her. Unlike with many vapes, there is not just one or two "best" ways to use the EVO. That is why, when the Cloud was first released, Seibo described it as designed to provide a "connoisseur" vaping experience.

Fwiw, since you appear to want a strong effect without sacrificing taste, you might try setting your EVO at 12 o'clock with an unpacked half-fill load.

As a previous owner of EQ (RIP, damn you 5.0) - I cannot compare it to the EVO.
The EVO is better in every level.

As for packing more than less @oldiebutgoodie - correct me if I'm wrong, but packing more will cause the ELB to be clogged faster?

I myself for some reason pack more than less, for some reason I like it more, and yeah, I give it a stir or 2.
I know its not ideal, I still prefer that for some reason.

Agree with all that and with higher temps, it increases the chance of combustion toward the bottom of the ELB. Alternatively, some here use microdose portions with their EVO.

1/2 full very loosely packed is the most full without running into clog issues. Any fuller than that, then the particles are large and get caught in the screen mesh more. ELBs get dirtier and perhaps char.
Had to break myself of it, and settle for two more reasonable sized portions.

!/3 seems to keep it thick and steer me of all the nuisances of too full and/or too hot temps. Less waste and stirring needed. How the materials stack has an impact as well. :2c:

Preheating the EVO does prime things for me.
Has anyone purchased any glass seconds from VXL?
I got a standard MP. Examined it looking for imperfections. I suposse the glass joint had a faint pale ring instead of looking fully frosted. :shrug:That might be what got it rejected. IDK. Otherwise fine.

Not crazy about their MP TBO. Hard to get my mouth comfortable with it. Like breathing through a foghorn. I prefer the simple downstem over it.

Yea, I forgot about that: The heavier load and/or packing can cause the ELB to clog faster.

IME the grind is an important factor here, too. My Santa Cruz shredder creates small airy tufts; my Space Case doesn't create the same fullness but its smaller nuggets are still quite light. At 1 o'clock with a loose half-fill, the vaped material breaks down very fine, some of it virtually a powder. As a result it is very easy to clean with a stiff bristle test tube brush and I'm doing an ISO rinse much less than before.

interesting, i always found powder as a ELB clogger...I dunno, maybe its just me, but I like SLX grind level...perhaps a touch with fingernails scissors (usually I'm good with using fingernails scissors only)

Anyway, I feel when I 1/2 pack, I get a less "dense" hit, I can go forever when I over pack for some reason, but even when over packing, there is a limit, I think I found the right balance, for me.

Yea, it's a fine line (no pun intended). Note though that I wrote "some"; not most. More of my abv is actually very small particles (I should have made that more clear; my bad). Truth be told, I have no idea exactly why my ELB's are easier to clean now compared to previous techniques; it's just what I have discovered via experimenting. YMMV and apparently does.

I have read that using the tiny scissors method of cutting/shredding is superior, but I've never tried that. I should probably give it a go. I can see how it might be better for preserving trichomes, which could affect the experience and economy (?).

But in your post there is really the key thought: "right balance for me". That's why I think folks are probably best off just taking the experiences of other users as data points from among a wide range of experiences, which can help in the each individual's own personal journey to find that "balance." At one point in the (distant) past I was nearly driving myself crazy from chasing perfection :bang:, when IMHO "balance" is what it is all about. Of course, I'm showing my age here; as one grows older balance is nearly always the best that can hope to be achieved.

Great post. :)
Happy new year.

It's also great to learn that the scissors are actually the "best" way to grind.
I will continue doing so as I also enjoy the "meditation" in doing so.

Quick question, and sorry if it´s been answered before, but what does a rapid blinking green light mean?
I´ve had it twice now in the first week of ownership. the first time it happened I´m not sure what happened this time however I can remember everything.
So I had vaped the ELB at 12 for a few times and then turned the dial up to 2. I waited for it to heat up checked after a few mins, it was on green I turned my back to get the ELB and went to put it in but the timer had kicked in (with my unit its a green light with the red flashing on and off not strictly red and green flashing). So I hit it anyway as I knew it woud still be warm enough.
I then went to switch off / on to reset the timer and this is when I get the rapid green blinking light. I switched it off again and counted for a few seconds and switched back on, still rapid green blinking. So I switched off again, put the dial back to 12 and then switched on and all is good.
Any Ideas anyone?
Btw as I´ve just been getting to grips with my evo I´ve been looking at the vaped / unvaped weed through a 60x magnifying glass. It´s quite clear to me scissor shredded kept more crystalls on the weed than my 2 grinders ( a crap one and a Mighty freebie)...
I´m snipping my weed onto a bit of grease proof paper and then tipping it slowly into the ELB. They are a little narrow imo (especially coming from a Mighty), I´ve got a little funnel on order hopefully that will help with loading.
Oh the EVO hits harder than the Mighty ime.

Can we talk about electrical radiation, is there any?

I have a dear friend who won't use his EVO anymore, and why? he says the EVO is radiating, with a 300W PSU, holding it will cause something ? I wasn't sure if he was joking or not, so he pulled out a radiation "scanner" and showed me that it looks like its radiating quite badly...
I feel no fear as I live it on for even 6 straight hours next to me.
I would love a response from someone who is an expert on this matter and perhaps a representative of VX team.

You ask for an expert's response. Can't help there, I'm no physicist by any stretch of the imagination. That said ...

It's not clear what you mean by "electrical radiation" - that could conceivably refer to different things. Since the reference point is "300W" it appears it's thermal radiation (a type of electromagnetic radiation), with the watts indicating the power level which correlates to the heat generated, but only when combined with frequency and rate of delivery can the effect be determined. E.g., take the thermal radiation thrown off by a 100W incandescent light bulb; it will burn the skin if held but a foot away it is harmless. Or a high-end gaming computer which pulls over 500W; is that dangerous to use?

I very possibly may be showing my ignorance, if so mea culpa. But since the EVO's thermal energy, i.e., heat, is not being absorbed by the user unless s/he holds his/her finger on the hot bamboo, I don't see the problem.

Can I ask what sort of meter you're measuring this "radiation" with?

I'm guessing what you're reading is EMF, or electric magnetic forces. All AC electricity creates it. It's harmless in everyday life, but in very large amounts can disrupt sleep habits/patterns, cause headaches, etc. Nothing in your house/apartment can do this without very special circumstances. High voltage (over 35k volts) like transmission lines has been linked to worse.

I'd love some now info if you have it, in'm guessing this amounts to nothing......if not, I have a radiation chamber I could house it in for safe use!

You can't plug in something which creates a radioactive field. Radiation is caused by the nuclear decay of elements, it's "hot" all the time. I doubt VapeXHale is using radioactive elements in their equipment!

@MonkeyTime is likely correct in guessing that your friend was using an EMF detector. He'll get the same result near an active CPU power supply, TV monitor, Tesla coil, microwave, toaster.

Jury is still out on cell phones. If your buddy is worried about EMF he better get rid of his cell phone...and don't have any home WiFi!!

I have a "Q" and a EVO

They are different devices.

I like both.

4 different reason's.

I am setting up my EVO today because I love it.

Plus I have a new part to try out with a H2O PIPE I need to try 4 my benefit!

The EVO is very satisfying 4 sure!

If I had not the resources to own both?
